meteorologist, david murphy. good morning. >> good morning, guys. on storm tracker storm tracker e scan we have thunderstorms out to the west of us that are pushing through gettysburg getting close to hours barring. most are pushing more or less towards the northeast but it does look like on some of our models and based on what's happening in the atmosphere farther southeast that a lot of this may start to fall apart as it too it is to head east. we're keeping our eyes on it and those of you in the western suburbs, places like lancaster county, berks county and maybe chester county we'll keep our eyes on it in case this moves in later on. there's a chance it falls apart and isn't that big of a deal. that same system out to the west did produce severe weather yesterday. it is kind of diminishing sort of pushing off world to new england. we are once again in that humid air mass, though, today. not quite as warm. still a chance of a pop-up shower or a thunderstorm during the day. 71 degrees right now in philadelphia as you head outside. 71 in wilmington. allentown 71. and 67 in sea isle city. a little bit muggy once again. and as we head outside to warm

up that car, catch the bus looks like we'll be in the upper 60's between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. chance of patchy fog developing in a couple spots. not going to be quite as warm as yesterday. we'll be at 69 by 9 o'clock, 74 by noon with some sunny breaks possible through the day. 77 is your high at 3 o'clock and then 75 by 6 o'clock. over all i don't expect as much rain or at least much of a threat of rain and thunderstorms as we've had the last couple of days but there is that chance of something popping up as we work our way through the forecast day. as we come back in a little bit, matt, we're going to talk about the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast and we have a little better chance of some bumpy weather toward the end of the week. >> a philadelphia mother and her boyfriend are charged in connection with a grade school drug scare. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live outside john barry elementary in west philadelphia with these new details. katherine. >> reporter: that's right, matt, we're hearing that mother and her live-in boyfriend were charged overnight after a six-year-old

girl brought heroin to school. that six-year-old is now in the custody of the department of human services. that little girl and 19 of her classmates from here at the john barry elementary school in west philadelphia were taken to the hospital yesterday to be checked out. "action news" was there as the girls' mother arrived at the school yesterday. she and her boyfriend were taken in for questioning. undercover drug officers searched the parkside home on viola street and overnight police confirmed the two were charged with endangering the welfare avenue child possession of narcotics and endangering another person. the girl brought 11 bags of her twenty nine her classroom. a teacher spot add child chewing on one of the packets sending the school into emergency mode. it's unclear if that girl ingested any. all the kids were medically cleared. they were interviewed by police at the hospital. "action news" spoke with parents outside the hospital. >> she has no idea what drugs

are. she thought they were passing around tomorrow. i think unfortunately i have to teach her about drugs at seven years old. >> reporter: and when police searched the home they did recover some marijuana. as for school today counselors will be on hand for the students. we're live in west philadelphia, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> matthew miller held on $5 million after allegedly breaking out of prison and stabbing a bensalem police officer. investigators say officer michael jachimski spotted the 23 year old escapee on woodhaven road yesterday afternoon after a report went out that he had escaped from the bucks county prison. during an attend arrest miller allegedly stabbed jachimski in the stomach and stole his police car. officers caught up with him in philadelphia. miller is charged with attempted murder of a police officer. jachimski was not harmed. today is the deadline to finalize the deal to sell the philadelphia inquirer and due to a last minute decision,

gerry lenfest will be going it alone. the soft late lewis katz has announced the family is pulling out of the partnership. drew katz says this is all due to the turmoil of the last 10 days. lewis katz was killed in a fiery plane crash in massachusetts just four days after inking an $88 million deal to buy those papers with lenfest. drew katz issued a statement that reads in part "i believe strongly that the organization would be in excellent hands under the ownership of gerry lenfest now and in the years to come." lawyers for lenfest did not return comment. happening today, a wal-mart truck driver will come before a judge for the first time. he's accused of causing that crash that put tracy morgan in the hospital and killed another entertainer. kevin roper is charged with death by auto and assault by auto. police say roper allegedly swerved to avoid slower traffic on the new jersey turnpike and plowed into morgan's limo there on the turnpike. morgan suffered broken ribs and a broken leg.

his friend and fellow comedian james mcnair was killed. coming up in the next hour of "action news" we'll hear from the first victim to leave the hospital. >> out of our delaware news room an answer on when the traffic headaches in northern delaware might end and it may not be what commuters were hoping. deldot says the southbound lanes of the i-495 bridge over the christina river will reopen by labor day at the earliest with the northbound lanes following a month later. four towers are leaning about 4 degrees. soil compression bent the bridge's steal pilings. the two most compromised towers will get temporary support towers. if that doesn't work it becomes a much bigger project. >> there's a small chance we'll have to completely tear down this 400-foot section of this bridge and rebuild a new section. if that is the case, we will be looking at later this year or early next year before you would see traffic there. >> the temporary repairs will cost about $20 million, money

that will have to be pulled from other state projects. and new this morning, a montgomery county cashier who happened to be there during a store robbery is now accused of organizing an inside job. 41-year-old saheena moody called 911 when an armed man-made off with money from a family dollar store in abington township yesterday morning. police say moody helped plan the holdup and was expecting a cut of the cash. moody and the suspected robber, four year old shahane shahane peta way. >> pj chang says a breech could have exposed the debit and credit card data for customers over the country. and for the first time the government has approved commercial drone flights over land here in the u.s. bp got the green light for a drone to survey pipe lines in

alaska. more businesses could be following soon. stocks were mixed on wall street on tuesday the. right now futures seem to be pointing to a lower open. this is an interesting political battle. her she's chocolate is based here in pennsylvania and it's tangling with this man, he's a state senator candidate in maryland. now the company says senator steven hershey jr. no connection is using its classic sign for political gain. the senator says, hey, it's his name. he's done nothing wrong. matt, back to you. >> similar to what mayor nutter did with nutter butters during his campaign for mayor. thank you, tam. officials along the delaware shore line say it is safe to go back in the water where a shark bit a teenaged swimmer. marine biologists scoured the coastline of cape henlopen state park yesterday. by the afternoon the beach was reopened to swimming and children were running and in diving in. 16-year-old andrew vance of delmar tells authorities he was wading in about 5 feet of

water when the three to 4-foot long shark bit him earlier this week. experts believe it was a young sand bar shark, a common species, though bites are extremely rare. >> it is now 4:39 and police down south are investigating a real life horror story. a tennessee man is accused of killing a woman a day after meeting her. details on what he supposedly did with the body. >> a luxury house in texas is holding on for dear life. we will explain what's going on here. david. >> easing back the temperatures a bit today. it's still going to be warm and humid. but there's still the chance of a shower or a thunderstorm. we have some stuff out to the west inn on radar. we'll take look in a couple of seconds on storm tracker

>> saw david back there getting storm tracker ready. >> right.vid back there >> revving it up a bit. >> cranking it up. we have storms out to the west. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows you the immediate region is dry. if we take that two dimensional closer view there are thunderstorms trying to push slowly towards the east just about reaching harrisburg at this point and you see some of those recent lightning strikes down by gettysburg, there's a big lightning strike right there, that's one that came in in the last 15 seconds or so. this is trying to fall apart a little bit. you can see some holes back in through here as it pushes towards the east. it's kind of pushing more towards the northern and western suburbs necessarily than philadelphia and wilmington but we have to keep an eye on this towards the end of the rush hour, perhaps a

couple hours from now we might start to see some of that pushing in. now it doesn't look like it's an immediate threat to anybody here. your exclusive accuweather look outside, we're going to look at sky 6. there's the airport. we have cloudy skies across much of the region right now in advance of those showers that may or may not make it all the way east a little later on. and it's also on the warm and muggy side. temperature right now is 71 degrees. your dewpoint up in the mid 60's. that definitely is an indicator of humid air. and the winds have turned out of the east at 9 miles per hour as a little frontal boundary is tried to push down to our south a bit. future tracker 6 takes some of that rain out to the west and pushes some of it in by 8 or 9 o'clock into some of our western suburbs. you can see how the intensity that you saw a moment ago on radar may not still be there as it gets here. we'll allow for a shower or a thunderstorm. the rest of the day lon nestly looks pretty scatterd in terms of precipitation. there might be a pop-up shower here or there. doesn't look like the threat is as big today as it was the last couple days. 68 degrees by 8 o'clock, too

by 11:00 and you'll notice that it's not quite as warm do. we're only going to get a high of about 77 degrees but it will still be warm and humid and even though the chance of a downpour is a little bit less today, we still have to allow for a pop-up shower or a thunderstorm during the day okay. so a good day to have that storm tracker 6 app handy. 74 degrees is your high in allentown, mid 70's to upper 70's in the i-95 corridor and probably only about 70 in atlantic city and 72 in cape may. everybody has to look outer for a spotty storm. clouds occasionally giving way to a sunny break today. for the phillies tonight i think there's a pretty good chance you just get the game in without a problem. we'll allow for a spotty shower. otherwise it's just mainly cloudy and humid. temperature 73 for the first pitch and 70 in the ninth inning. then we get into tomorrow and future tracker shows you as we get into the afternoon in particular, there is a better chance of some showers beginning to build in ahead avenue front out to our west and that shower chance with
