details about a stabbing inside of a crozier medical certain. but the big story is a flash flood watch that took effect in several counties. sky 6 hd is looking at philadelphia international airport this noon, arriving flights are delayed by more than an hour because of the low clouds and accuweather is tracki tracking drenching rain and possible thunderstorms head ourg way. david murphy has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. >> lets talk to you about that flood watch, it kicked in as we struck the noon hour, it doesn't expire until tonight. it covers as far west as lancaster, bucks and south jersey counties that are butting up to the delaware river. these are the best chances of heavy downpours, areas west of

philadelphia have the best chance but could push farther to the east. spotty drenches is what we are looking for. the first round of showers has pushed up into the southern tier of the region, in newcastle, delaware, and moderate rain highlighted in green. and the heavier cells in red and that means the better chance of seeing the flooding. wilmington just moderate rain for now, it looks like some of this will clip parts of philadelphia and the phillies are starting to play ball at 1:00, they will either get underway on time or a little afterwards. the storm tracker 6 live shows this clustser of showers to the west and we are keeping our eyes on that area of precipitation that could fall apart a bit in

destroyed in an early morning fire and investigators believe they know how it happened. katherine scott has more. >> reporter: people say they have been coming here for decades and some were here last night and they were going to come back and see what happened to the toll house tavern with their own eyes. >> i left about 9:30. >> officials say that a grease fire started in the kitchen of the toll house tavern in norwood, it jumped through the eves and tore through the ceiling and nearly residents came rushing over. >> we were here in disbelief just watching. >> when the sun came up you could see the extent of the damage, the ceiling collapsed and inside gutted. firefighters came back when some of the rubble starts to smolder. it's a popular spot and some

clerk and punched him several times knocking him unconscious to the floor. anybody that recognizes him should contact philadelphia police. a man is charged with atemmed murder, following a stabbing inside of crozier medical center in delaware county. police say that john david hood stabbed an elderly man in the emergency room last night. the suspect and victim were visiting a sick family member and were arguing before the attack. hood was taken into custody and the elderly man was treated for multiple stab wounds, from the delaware newsroom, a four month investigation led to the discovery of a meth lab in kent county, police arrested four men inside of the home on the 1600 block of woodyard road in wilmington. the suspects are all charged.

police say a search of the home turned up equipment and key ingredients for making meth. today city council will considering additional funding for city schools. vernon odom is live now with the details. >> reporter: where all of its sound and fury, the annual school budget crisis grinds on today. city council is poised at this hour to send over added money, millions of dollars and far from what school officials and parents say is enough. >> at city hall, a band of parents and teachers came to plead for more funding from anywhere they could get it, anywhere they could get at this point. >> we cannot have a better city

unless this city gets better because the education system is stronger. >> the city says they are providing all they can, including $120 million because of new sales tax revenue. >> we'll pass the $120 million legislation today as prescribed by the state. i suspect that the mayor will sign the bill today and it will be authorized to pull out 120 million for schools. but that does not solve the crisis, they are asking for $16 million more to avoid mass cutoffs and program cuts. and get to where they were last summer before some 4800 employees were laid off. the school is waiting until the end of the month to finalize their budge to see what the state comes up with. live at city hall, vernon odom,

protest evers have made their mark on the first day of the world cup in brazil. more than 55 tried to block the roadway into the stadium. the protest is in reaction to the construction of that venue. riot police used tear gas as demonstrators refused to clear the highway. two journalists were injured and no arrests were reported. they abandoned their posts because they were unable to stop the insurgent riots in iraq. after capturing mosul the second largest city in iraq. iraq's prime minister said that a state of emergency will be declared . a priest was shot and killed

and another wounded after an attack in a catholic church in downtown phoenix, police got a call for a burglary in the mother of mercy mission, when the police arrived they found the two priests injured. one is in critical condition. no arrests have been made. an off-duty police officer risked his own life to save an injured driver from a burning car, watch as new york state police investigators john vestio slammed into a gas pump and burst into flames, he went back to the burning car and pulled a 69-year-old man out of driver's seat. the victim suffer aid medical emergency behind the wheel season out of hospital and recovering at home. louisiana wildlife officials are investigating a tour guide that jumped into the swamp to feed the alligators.

meteorologist, adam joseph took over wedding duties, he swapped out with our cecily tynan for the morning show. they are taking over for ginger zee who is enjoying her honeymoon. >> can join the conversation with adam and cecily by using the #~ 6 abc on gma. david murphy is here now with another look at the accuweather forecast and a damp, dreary, cool day. we have the flood watch too, stormtracker 6 live double scan, we have the first showers of the day starting to course in from the southwest, you can see they are positioned west of philadelphia for now. although if we go in closer there is a light to moderate rain that is pushing up through the city itself. the heaviest cells we have are in north chester county and

pushing up towards northern berks county and areas like green lane and northern montgomery county. these are a better chance of rain on the roadways and eventually maybe some flooding. here is the wide view, most of what we see in the south is not really all that impressive and there is heavy precipitation highlighted in yellow to the south and we'll show you another batch farther down the pike, an issue for us later on. we have the action cam in wilmington, delaware, earlier. it's basically a cloudy day and pretty flowers in the foreground. now the first is spotty drenchers today, and it won't be raining all the time, tomorrow we have a better chance of rain coming in. it could be on the heavy side and thunderstorms tomorrow. lets get you to it. current conditions are 70 in

philadelphia and dew points are muggy and winds out of the east-northeast at 6 miles per hour. we have 70s down in the southern tier the region in allentown or reading. in terms of the rain, centered mainly to the west of philadelphia, you can see farther to the south coming up from virginia, it looks like areas closer to the coast, runs on future tracker 6, giving us off and on showers popping here and there. i do think there is a chance of these downpours to push through and by 10:00 or 10:30 we may be dealing with some of this. flash flood watch now until late tonight. phillies will play baseball until 1:05, it's damp at the ballpark and posting showers all day, there you see the numbers, fairly mild, stopping in the

mid-70s, i think it's a chance they get some of that game in and there are delays possible and we'll see how it rolls over the next few hours. allentown a spotty downpour and up in the lehigh valley not out of question and 65 off of atlantic city right now and on the beach, cloudy skies for the most part and 72 is the high up and down the coast and some of you may go higher than that. but it's not one of those big tanning days down at the beach. high of 75 and clouds and spotty showers and maybe a pop-up shower or thunderstorm mixed in as well. 68 degrees and spotty showers and a storm at some point. if are you headed out to commute later in the afternoon or waiting for someone to come home, could you slow things down a bit. temperatures will basically be in the 70s. as we look at the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, we go for the high of 75, and humid and showers are around and some downpours.
