>> reporter: skies have cleared out nicely, temperatures have cooled off the humidity has come way down. it looks like a fabulous weekend for most of us across the mid atlantic. a couple of folks on the beach that's the only downfall to the beach day is the fact that the wind will whip from time to time some of you may get sandblasted. 72 degrees in philadelphia at this 9:00 a.m. hour. trenton, 69. allentown, 67. poconos in the 50s, millville, 72. dover, 72 and wilmington 70. satellite and radar clearing out nicely now, there's the cold front right there, work its way out to sea off the coast, it will leave us with blue skies. if you have a tee time the only issue is the breeze out of the northwest at 15 to 25 miles per hour. otherwise accuweather says mostly sunny skies and

comfortable. temperatures are close to 70. by 3:00 p.m. we'll see temperatures close to 80. 79 officially. the humidity returns next week it feels awful by tuesday and the humidity or the heat moves in along with it. we could have a run at 90 degrees tuesday and wednesday. with that heat combined with the humidity that means showers and thunderstorms. >> hundreds of septa regional rail workers are on strike. the action cam was in bucks county this morning where the union workers hit the picket lines. this after talks between septa and two union failed to reach a new contract deal. "action news" reporter wendy saltzman joins us live from septa's roberts avenue yard in nicetown where workers have gathered. >> reporter: 400 workers have walked off the job and taken

their post on the picket line. this strike is the first time since septa workers walked off the job in 1983 that lasted 108 days. this railroad yard is usually empty, but you can see there are dozens and dozens of trains that have been parked, pile up, they are not going anywhere anytime soon. 13 regional remain lines have been shut down indefinitely affecting some 60,000 customers who travel to areas like newark, trenton and the airport. service on septa buses, trolleys and subways and the el are still running. septa is pushing customers to use the alternative forms of transportation. next up governor corbett is expected to step in as early today to request that an emergency board be pointed to mediate that would force workerses back to work for 240

days and put an end to the standstill. >> someone in the governor's administration has contacted us and made it clear to us there would be consequence for us if we didn't accept their offer. >> we are disappointed. we really felt that the one issue that was a sticking point was something that we could continue to discuss, we did ask for a two-week extension with or without the pay raises that we had offered to the employees. those offers were denied. >> reporter: septa says they don't want that federal mediation, they also all that's going -- they say all that's going to do is delay another potential strike for 240 delays. the union said they will go back into the negotiations only if septa is willing to make major movements.

people including an officer. investigators say another car collided with the police cruiser yesterday afternoon at the intersection of 8th and kaign avenue. the officer and the driver suffered minor injuries. thousands of children in pennsylvania are victims of abuse every year. that's according to a report from the department of public welfare. last year the child abuse hot line received more calls of neglect than ever before. 53% of the calls had to do with sexual abuse. 80% were girls. authorities were able to confirm 13% of the claims. military veterans in central pennsylvania had the opportunity to sound off on the va scandal. governor corbett met with the group in williamsport yesterday. the pennsylvania governor called
