obama intervened in the strike. police in south jersey are investigating a drive-by shooting that left two people in the hospital. >> hundreds of runners are lacing up getting ready to fight the battle against prostate cancer in the gary pappa 5k run. >> happy father's day to all the dads out there. >> reporter: wasn't yesterday lovely it was chilly sitting in the shade with the breeze. today it will be nice and comfortable once again as we go live on sky 6. we won't see the wind, temperatures will be milder, the humidity levels will be nice and comfortable. that's the view overlooking the ben franklin bridge. you can see the sun starting to climb and temperatures are starting to rise. 60 degrees in philadelphia. trenton, 56. allentown, a cooler 53. poconos dropping into the 40s, you're starting to rebound.

it was a chilly start. 53 degrees, wilmington, 55 and dover 58 degrees. for the most part yesterday was mostly sunny. during the afternoon we had a couple of clouds starting to bubble up north and west of the city. this morning we're left with clear conditions. mostly sunny skies throughout the morning. it is expected, if you have a tee time we have a slight breeze but not close to what we were dealing with yesterday. sunny skies by 9:00 a.m., 68 degrees, temperatures slowing climb into the 80s. we'll top out to 82 degrees with comfortable humidity levels. the humidity comes back tomorrow, tuesday will feel horrible with humidity through the roof. it's hoverrable with consecutive days in the 90s we'll be talking thunderstorms out there, as well. >> septa's regional rail is running this morning, president obama intervened to get the

commuter trains back on track. the action cam was in nicetown where the trains were up and moving. the president has the power to step in for federal law which regulates railroad disputes now all the workers are back to work. >> reporter: nearly 24 hours after the regional rail cars stopped running, the operators were coming off the picket line. president obama used the federal hand to push the transportation agencies and the union also back to the table. >> the sooner we can resolve problems and make compromise the better. >> reporter: the president created a three-member emergency board to mediate the dispute. 400 electrical workers and engineers went on strike saturday shutting down 13 train lines that carry thousands from philadelphia to the suburbs and

the airport and jersey. governor tom corbett requested the help. >> we'll comply with the mandates of the law, and we will be given the opportunity to present our best case to the presidential emergency board. >> reporter: blet engineers haven't had a pay increase in four years, the electricals workers five years. >> we have 7400 unionized employees, 7,000 of them have already accepted what we're offering the blet and the iebw. >> reporter: commuters without a ride and anticipating a travel mess monday morning are relieved. they are hoping that septa and the union also -- unions come to terms.re hoping that septa and president obama has the power to step in with a federal law that regulates railroad labor

other in the leg. both were taken to cooper university hospital. there's no word yet on their conditions nor a motive for the shooting. days after the iraqi city of mosul fell to stream i alsos -- extremists, thousands of men are volunteering to fight the radical group isis. he said his forces can defeat the insurgents. some elite iranian troops are in iraq, but iran denies it. president obama weighs any action for airstrikes. ukraine's president has been declared a national day of

mourning. pro russian separatists shot down a transport plane yesterday. none of the 49 troops on board survived. the deadliest incident to dade involve the ukrainian military. u.s. is lending support for their sovereignty. a boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition after he was hit by a car in south jersey. it happened ray long pine street in camden. the child ran into the street from between two parked cars. the driver stopped and remained on the scene. police say the case is under review, but they do not think any charges will be filed. this was the smoky scene at the springfield mall in delaware county as three cars went up in flames. one vehicle caught fire in the mall parking lot around 3:00 p.m.

the fire spread to two other vehicles. nobody was hurt, no word this morning on how that fire started. this weekend we've had yet another bear spotted in south jersey, this time in evesham burlington county. there were bear sightings this past week in winslow and waterford township. these new pictures were sent to us by an "action news" viewer yesterday. the 300-pound black bear turned up in marlton. neighbors reporting seeing it yesterday near darby court. police remind everyone to keep their garbage canals covered and do not feed the bear. if you see it call 911. it was a big send off for military men and women. 34 members of new jersey national guard were honored at this going party 2174 in west field gloucester county. the soldiers who deploy are part

of the 114 infantry battalion. they go with the expectation of a safe return. we have a new miss new jersey, sierra jones was crowned last night in ocean city. her platform, youth arts education. this year marks she'll go on to represent -- this year marks the 30th year of the miss new jersey pageant. >> the festival yesterday featured soccer matches on the big screen. schmidts piazza hosted the event. we'll take a look at new overall

cancer. it is 12 years for the event. it is five years since we lost gary. one of his mission was to educate everyone about prostate cancer. ali gorman has more on one man's story. >> reporter: the days often start early and end late for john bueler. he is the 4th generation of a well drilling family. 6 years ago at the age of 49 he never thought prostate cancer would have a role in his life. >> my cancer had spread outside of my prostate. >> reporter: to cheer him up from the long surgery to remove all the cancer. his sister gave him a canvas bag filled with gifts and covered

with encouraging messages. >> reporter: he thought he could help fight prostate cancer by telling more men about it. he spreads the world every chance he gets. for his efforts he and his surgeon were honored by the eagles. he is not shy about the value of the psa blood test. while experts debate its worth, he said it was the red flag that saved his life. >> that was the only warning sign i had. >> reporter: he hopes gary's legacy will save other men. >> we watched him all the time and loved the guy. >> reporter: we loved him and miss him. john and his family will be walking sunday morning and many from the "action news" team. the opening ceremonies are at 8:00 a.m., the run starts at 8:30, the walk is at 9.
