current temperature, 66 degrees, comfortable in philadelphia. we're in the upper 50s in the lehigh valley, as well as trenton and millville, so some of the suburbs just a bit cooler in the city. along the coastline, mild, mid to upper 60s along the coastline, as well. as we look at the day ahead we'll start out with mostly sunny skies, during the daytime we're dry, though, it's very warm high of 87 degrees, coming up in a few minutes we'll the day park forecast and how the temperature will progress through the day and details on that and the rest of the week, it's going to get steamy. >> reporter: the big story on the traffic front, we have what is not happening. septa is not striking, first trains out of the gate are on time. definitely a relief for riders who were anticipating a strike that was going to last into the

week. good news it's just one day. we have no schedules organ the other septa lines, we'll talk about that in just a bit. right now let's talk about a problem in west conshohocken one of my favorites, balligomingo road is closed this morning stay with us on 320 swedeland road to get around that blockage. we expect it to last a little while. in worcester there's a crash involving a vehicle on its side at trooper road at pot shop road camera time on i-95 at allegheny avenue they pushed back the extension of the work zone at girard, they pushed it back to tonight. they will be setting up a longer construction zone through this point a allegheny avenue we'll talk about that, as well, coming up in just a bit. >> tens of thousands of people who depend on septa's regional rails are breathing a huge sigh of relief. commuter trains are operating on

schedule following a one-day strike over the weekend. katherine scott joins us live from the bala station with the details. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, matt, people were starting to think of constituency plans and what route they would take if there was a walkout, but there was a strike, and the only lasted a day. commuters can expect normal operations. the one-day strike started 12:01 a.m. saturday, but sunday, trains were moving again when engineers and electrical workers were back on the job. 400 contract workerses haven't had a contract in 4 years. governor corbett requested help from president obama who signed an executive order creating a three member emergency board to hear from septa's unions.

commuters were relieved the strike just lasted a day, but they are be lieuing for a more permanent solution here. >> a long term solution would be better possibly this doesn't happen next summer or the summers to come. >> reporter: the hearings are expected to begin next week and by mid july, the bored should bring the recommendation to the president. >> new this morning on "action news," a suspicious fire is under investigation in south jersey. camden county police are questioning a number of people after a fire erupted near the intersection of old white horse pike and collings avenue and waterford works. one house was heavily damaged. fire and smoke bellowed from the home always crews pulled up to the scene. no word on what started the fire or if anyone was hurt. >> police are investigating a double shooting that took place near a father block party in north philadelphia.

two men exchanged gunfire near randolph street. police were in the area when they heard the gun shots. one officer ended up shooting the suspected gunman in the arm. else in the hospital and in stable condition. another suspected gunman is in critical condition, he was shot repeatedly, but investigators do not believe that person was shot by police. it is unclear what sparked the shootout. >> a returner who took part -- a runner who took part in the gary pappa run has spent the night in the hospital after collapsing after the run. gary pappa's kathy ran to the side of the runner who has stage four prostate cancer. they took turns administering

spots it will be spotty. tomorrow, we get the heat. it will be hot, 90 degrees, partly sunny skies great for the young, just sticky. wednesday, hot and humid, high of 92. chance of a shower or thunderstorm. thursday clouds and sun, 87. staying warm and sticky on thursday, a fair amount of clouds and shower around. friday partly sunny skies we knock the temperature down just a little bit to 84 degrees, chance for a shower or thunderstorm. summer arrivals on saturday, it's a beautiful day we drop the temperature to a 83 degrees, humidity is pretty nice, as well. on sunday, we'll mix more clouds with the sunshine, 83 degrees only a slight chance for a shower looks like it will pop up by the end of the day. looking ahead we're looking at another good weekend which will be the 5th good weekend in a row. >> crazy. >> reporter: yeah. >> we'll take i meant. >> a wall of fire is moving into central california.
