hotter than yesterday. let's take a look. we have a heat advisory in effect through the region right now and if we switch from double scan you'll be able to see that and the heat advisory in effect from noon until 7:00 p.m. so, you have to be careful as you head outside even though we had one day of the heat of 93-degree temperatures yesterday, we are seeing that this heat advisory is expected to bring areas making it feel like it's in the upper 90's today. so, that's been a big concern for us. right now storm tracker 6 live double scan showing nothing more than a sprinkle around in one or two spots and we are watching for an early shower, but if we switch to the weather computer i think we're having a little issue with that but there's a heat advisory from noon until 7:00. today's forecasted high, 96 degrees so even hotter than yesterday. with the humidity that's a real concern and we do have the chance for a late day shower or a thunderstorm that could be strong to severe in parts of our region. so, details on that coming up in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast in just a few minutes, tam.

had exchanged words with the 26-year-old victim then fired off six shots. at least one bullet struck him in the leg. he is now in the hospital. what set off the argument and who fired the shots is still being ironed out. happening today, five of the 11 defendants charged in a main line school drug operation will be formally charged in court. daniel mcgrath christian, investigators say they were low level dealers in a much bigger enterprise run by 25 year old kneel scott and 18 year old timothy brooks. the pair are graduates of the haverford school one of the country's most prestigious prep schools. >> good morning. time now for your first look at business. it's going to be a hot day for mary barra the head of gm and not just because of the weather. she's back on capitol hill today facing a congressional

"action news" reporter sharrie williams was on the von neida park for the celebration of lights. >> four, three, two, one. >> reporter: there was light in camden. a feat that took two years and it all started with these students. >> when we see what we've done especially at a young age such as us its a great feeling. >> reporter: a great feeling and a lot to celebrate as students from saint anthony of padua began attending city and county meetings pushing for improvements at their neighborhood park. they also helped protests using flashlights to get their point across even calling their elected officials constantly. >> i felt like they're going to keep their promise. >> reporter: now their perseverance paid off. the county is spending $360,000 to add the rows of lights and make other capital

heat you need to be careful, maybe check on your elderly friends make sure your pets are okay because it's been awhile since we've been experiencing extended heat like this. sky six goes live in center city. as we look outside we're seeing just a few clouds up above. not too many problems yet but i do want to show you storm tracker storm tracker 6 live radar because we have some precipitation just outside of our region. we have been watching some showers that have been trying to move through on storm tracker 6 and you can probably see that. in fact, i can even widen out a little bit and show you some of the storms that are out there to our west right now and we can see that there's a frontal boundary out there that is going to be pushing through our region so while they're experiencing extreme weather once again out to our west, for us currently we're looking at basically dry conditions. we can see a spotty shower here or there near harrisburg and we may see these showers fall apart early on. we're going to see a good amount of sunshine today.

let's go to the seven day forecast and give you an idea of what's going to be happening. hot and breezy today, at least that breeze is going to help you and i think that temperature is going to be up to about 96 so we are going to feel that heat. we're watching for the potential for a thunderstorm late today. i think the rest of the region stays dry during the day time. areas to our west are under a slight risk for severe weather at this point so we're watching that. looks like best chance for that may be late tonight. tomorrow showers and thunderstorms hanging around the region as a front moves through and 87 for your high. it's a fine finish to our week, though, that we've struggled with. 84 degrees on friday and feeling less humid. on saturday unfortunate that front kind of swings back through. we're stuck with clouds and some showers as summer officially arrives at 6:51 a.m. 79 will be our high. on sunday clouds and some sunshine, 80 degrees with still a chance for a couple of showers or a thunderstorm. by monday it looks partly sunny and 82 and tuesday clouds and sunshine and

heading to the big border here talking about your travel forecast and we have some early delays cropping up at san francisco. about 10. not that many. but this time day it is kind of relative allot due to some low cloud cover in san francisco. that could extend later on in the morning so you could see some more delays crop up if you're heading out to sfo across its country. lots of delays related to the chance of thundershowers all across the area. you see how many airports we're posting here. just mentioned san francisco with the low cloud cover this morning. up and down the east coast could see some thundershowers break out mostly later on today so we're thinking if you inn you use any of these airports early on things should be okay but look out boston new york city philadelphia, hartsfield-jackson in atlanta, the d.c. area airports and also all the major airports including miami in florida. in houston, texas, you could see some thundershowers break out once again in the p.m. hours so early on going at houston should look good. i checked dallas and everything looks okay for dallas, no thundershowers

was killed. another woman in the home told first responders the fire was intentionally set. >> new this morning an entire high school class has been accused of cleating in michigan. administrators at anderson high school in south gate knew something wasn't quite right when so many of the 11th grade students scored a 100 on their final exam. the 30 classmates eventually admit they had someone took a picture of the answer key. it had been sitting on a teach's desk. the school made everyone retake the test and is now considering further disciplinary action. and new this morning north jersey prosecutors are looking into a school hacking case that put some average students at the head of the class. someone broke into the record system at orange high school to improve class grades and attendance. the students who received better gpa's as a result of the stunt say they're being punished for the change even though they claim they had nothing to do with it. education officials still don't know who is behind the attacks. >> this story is also new. the developer of a million dollar shore house on prime
