humidity and that's the trouble that we have right now. let's look at the current temperatures. 79 degrees in philadelphia already. we're already at 80 in trenton. even along the coastline, temperatures in the upper 70's. 79 degrees in wildwood. and the trouble today with high pressure giving more of a westerly flow today, i think you're even going have a hard time getting relief at the shore today with that sea breeze not really able to do any affect. satellite 6 and action radar slowing some showers that tried to pull through. we're left over with clouds right now. we're starting with early cloud cover and you can see the building, the showers and thunderstorms out to our west. we've got a chance for a shower or a thunderstorm later today, any one of them could be strong. the best chance would be for late tonight. by 9:00 a.m., 84, by noon 91, 3:00 p.m., 94 coming down from your high of 96 at 6:00 p.m. 93 degrees so hot and humid day today. details on that seven day forecast. we'll find some relief for you coming up. >> you know what else gives me relief on a day like this,

karen rogers, my good friend rita. yes, go visit her get some water ice. that will help you out. good morning we're here along 95 in fishtown by girard avenue where the traffic is moving nicely so far this morning. we got used to that new northbound traffic pattern yesterday morning with all three lanes shifted just a bit to the right, didn't really cause any unusual delays. of course it was a mess here yesterday afternoon with normal volume and a disabled bus. but right now everything is opened in both directions along 95. same is true on the schuylkill. coming off the schuylkill onto city avenue the overnight paving work southbound there by presidential has cleared. so, all lanes reopened in that area. but we're still not opened in pottstown. overnight crash brought down a pole and is closing wilson street between farming ton avenue and popular street by the pose reality diamond street or eighth street possible alternates. downed wires late last night in cherry hill along 70 at cuthbert boulevard. they're out of the way. everything is opened there this morning but a downed pole and wires in cape may courthouse continue to block 47 both ways north of 612.

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live in philadelphia with more on the current conditions. katherine as soon as you step outside you can really feel it. >> reporter: you can and of course it's early yet. it's early, the temperatures are high and they're just going to go up from here. we're at the art museum steps where a lot of people are squeezing in early morning workouts and we're starting to see people run up and down the steps here, some people doing push-ups, just earlier the better today because it's going to be sizzling out there whether you're outside for work or play. yesterday we hit 90 for the first day of the season and today it's going to get hotter and our bodies might not be used to it yet. word crews were out in the heat filling in potholes from the brutal weather we had this winter. certainly a steamy job on a day like today and yesterday but there was some summer fun to be had. ice cream trucks were out, some of the spray grounds had

this happened late last night on the 2100 block of west spencer street in the logan section. police say the shooters passed the victim on bicycles while they unloaded six shots hitting the man in the leg. he is in the hospital this morning in stable condition. happening today, a formal arraignment for several of the defendants in the main line school drug ring. daniel mcgrath christian euler, willow orr, reed cohen and dominic curcio are charged with possessing and distributing drugs at five high schools 13 college. investigators say they were low level dealers in a much bigger enterprise run by 18-year-old timothy brooks and 25 year old neil scott. the pair seen here are graduates of the haverford school, one of the country's most prestigious prep schools. >> new this morning, north jersey prosecutors are looking into a school hacking case. it put some average students at the head of the class. some unbroke into the record system at orange high school

to improve class grades and attendance. the students who received better gpa's as a result of the stunt are saying they're being punished for the change even though they claimed to have nothing to do with it. education officials still do not know who is behind the hack attack. >> 5:36 now. a community in camden is finally celebrating the fruits of its labor. >> four, three, two, one. (applause). >> the lights officially went on at von neida park in camden's cramer hill section last night. neighbors around the park have been fighting for two years to get lights to illuminate the park at night. the park has been the scene of muggings. cramer hill residents say they are now back in control. >> to see how much progress we've made from a little group that no one knew about to now. >> people joined in in a basketball game playing for the first time under the new lights. >> as we move into the summer days a lot of people like to be outside in the park, the kids want to play but today

you want to be careful. >> you do need to be careful. there's a heat advisory in effect. you know, other than yesterday we're not used to this heat. it's been a long time since we've had 90 plus degree temperatures. let's take a look at storm tracker 6 live radar double scan around the region and we can see we're dry through the area. we have some cloud cover here though. let's go outside and we can show you what it looks like. sky 6 looking live over penn's landing where we have partly cloudy skies currently and those current conditions showing, yeah, it's hot out there already. it's 79 degrees the current temperature. the dewpoint 66 degrees. any time you get above 60 with the dewpoint you really feel the humidity and we expect it to be into -- about 70 later on this morning. the winds out of the west-southwest at 11 miles an hour. katherine scott talking about there breeze out there. it is a bit breezier than yesterday but it's a warm breeze out of the west so that's helping i was little bit today. the pressure 29.86-inches. satellite 6 and action radar showing we had showers that tried to drop down in our region and then fell apart. we're left with the cloud

cover though and you can certainly see those showers and storms building from the west. we've got a chance for that later on today but future tracker 6 really showing that much of the region, this particular model showing just a spotty chance for a shower or a thunderstorm. this is a look at 6:30 and we only see it down to our southern region and then later on tonight a better chance of a few showers and thunderstorms coming through late tonight and into the overnight hours. and the reason we're watching that so closely, we're part of our region are under a slight risk for severe weather by the storm prediction center. yesterday we talked about it being through much of the region. now it's isolate d to our western communities, mount pocono, allentown, you'll be watching for a chance for any one of these storms to become severe. i think the mow potential would be the damaging winds up to 58 miles an hour but we're not seeing that widespread. it's just a chance but something we're watching closely. a summer civil with any real action or thunderstorms out to our west. a high of 96 degrees, so that

would be chasing the record of 96 set back in 1957. hot and it is breezy today. that's a little bit of a help. 96 for your high. tomorrow that front gets stalled as it tries to push through our area so we're left with clouds and a few showers and thunderstorms around and 87. friday feels a lot better. it's less humid and dry and 84 degrees with partly sunny skies. the weekend is a little iffy, though, because models suggest that front comes down and then comes back through our area and gets hung up so we get some spotty showers on saturday. may not be raining all day but it's not going to be pretty either and that holds the temperature down even though summer officially arrives on saturday we're talking a high of 79 degrees. on sunday clouds and some sunshine, 80 degrees and it looks like a few showers on zinn -- on sunday possible. tuesday warm and sunny, getting back up there with 88 degrees. so, today a hot one today chasing a record. >> okay, thank you, karen. i'm in the sure i should say thank you but i will anyway. >> i'll say thank you. >> okay. it's 5:39. one entire high school class could get more than just

toward the pennsylvania turnpike through chester county is moving along just fine. but we have an issue to talk about in pottstown. it's a crash and downed pole closing wilson street this morning. just a short chunk of it between farming ton avenue and popular street. diamond street or eighth street possible alternates. no issues so far this morning if you're coming in from pottstown along 422. that looks like a good ride at this point. if you're traveling the northeast extension we still have some overnight road work. not a great morning to be doing road work. little bit sticky out there but both ways north of lansdale they're taking out one lane. you're down to just one lane in either direction as you head to or from quakertown. meanwhile it's another day without balligomingo road. they closed it again yesterday afternoon through this afternoon to take down more trees. so, balligomingo shut down between portland street and front street there in west conshohocken. stay over on 320, swedeland road by gsk instead and of

michigan. administrator at anderson high school in south gate knew something wasn't right when so many students managed to score a perfect 100 on their final exam. the 30 11th grade classmates eventually came clean admitting someone had taken a picture of the answer key that had been left out sitting on a teacher's desk. the school made everybody retake that test and they're considering further disciplinary action. >> also new, the developer of a million dollar shore house on prime new england property has suddenly realized it is encroaching on protected turf. the developer chose a waterfront estate on protected park land in rhode island in 2009. the builder didn't notice the error until two years later saying it was an innocent surveying mistake. a court battle went all the way to the state speak and -- supreme court and now the developer is under court order to remove that home. >> belly dancesing is more than just another pretty naval. it's an exotic exercise.

takes nearly 5,000 feet of rope to get the window washers into position. they're 470 feet from the canyon bottom. the workers say you can't beat the view. take a little time to enjoy the view. >> hurry up clean the windows and get off that rope. >> not a job for me i don't think. the job for me is to tell you about the traffic problems and we have one here in chester county now. southbound side of 202 we were told it was a broken down vehicle. police are out here assisting and they have both the southbound lanes temporarily blocked. looks like they're slowly pacing traffic now headed south passing great valley but it's a slow go. we're already stacking coming from chesterbrook through this point at 29. looks like they're in the process of exiting southbound 202 as we watch. a changing situation here in the malvern area. also we have a broken down vehicle here on the ramp from the roosevelt boulevard extension southbound to ridge avenue. maybe they'll see the flashing lights there in the distance but 42, well, so far so good. just a little building northbound volume.

a mountainous region 55 miles northwest of los angeles. mike heard man is a member of the acadia fire department. investigators say heard man and a friend went hiking last wednesday deep into the back country of the mountains north of the town of fill more. as we were setting up camp on friday night heard man's dog you see him there ran off so he goes after the dog but he hasn't been seen since. also new here on "action news" a six-year-old girl is the lone survivor of a tragic fire, a fire that claimed the lives of her grabbed mother and three siblings. the children and the woman died when flames erupted in a florida mobile home yesterday. a 13 year old boy knowlesd the fire and ran in risking his own life running in there to save that girl. >> i know i heard the word help, help me, at least three or four times and i don't believe i heard any little kids screaming but i could -- she was screaming at the top of her lungs. you can't really explain it. it's just a gut feeling you don't want to feel of somebody
