let's look at satellite and radar, you can see the line of thunderstorms that moved on out of here. we'll give you a better view with storm tracker 6 live double scan, you can see the heavy thunderstorms that rolled through with powerful winds, lightning and downpours that's off the coastline. if you're up in the mountain pocono you're left with a scattered shower. most of the region is dry. but to the west you can see showers popping up and storms out to the west. we'll be watching for that through the day. 73 degrees in philadelphia. still feeling muggy. 69 in allentown, 71 in millville. as you head out the door expect mostly cloudy skies, 6:00 a.m., 74. 8:00 a.m., 76. much of the morning commute will be dry, maybe a stray shower around not the heavy thunderstorms that we saw earlier. we're watching for a shower popping up a thunderstorm, a high today 84 degrees, lots of clouds, still humid. i've got future tracker 6 standing by which gives you a good view of what the day looks

should get by that. watch out for a broken down vehicle on butler pike near the county flower shop. >> we had more on the powerful authorities that raced through the region overnight. they probably woke you up from your slumber. katherine scott is outside a home in west deptford where lightning may have caused a fire. >> reporter: in west deptford and new pennsylvania, there's suspicious fires like this one on will i understand drive, the firefighters were called out around 3:00 a.m. the fire was under control in a half-hour. in wilmington you can see the downpours on french street and mlk boulevard.

sheets of heavy rain, lightning streaking across the sky. lightning lit up penns landing, the winds picked up, the rain was heavy, cars were splashing through the water by delaware avenue and noble street. drivers saying the storm seemed to come out of nowhere. they had to reduce is their speeds because the driving conditions were so poor. here in west deptford, lightning being the cause of an attic fire where the storms rolled through. coming up at 3:00 a.m. we'll tell you about the possible lightning strikes in bucks county and the damage they have caused there. >> the search continues for the shooter who gunned down a man in southwest philadelphia. police found the victim lying dead in the middle of south 60th street with a single gunshot to the back of the head. officers say they don't know who shot the man or why.

5:34. a philadelphia church is trying to move forward after falling victim to burglar. only "action news" was there as the police dusted for fingerprints at the church of saint johns. the church said had the theives asked for help they would have given it. >> it makes me sad, because if somebody needed the money they should have come to us. >> they are praying that the theives have a change of heart and return the stolen items. >> a new bill would prevent parents of truant children from being thrown into jail. a woman was serving 38 hour sentence for fines that went unpaid when her children skipped school. the bill calls for softers

sentences. official from schuylkill county filed a motion with the third circuit court of appeals earlier this month. gay marriage has been legal for one month ever since the district judge overturned the state's gay marriage ban. city council is discussing a bill that will lower the fine it is expected to pass, but mayor nutter may not sign it into law. his administration has voiced concerns over the proposal, because it clashes with state law. >> all the damage we've seen out there, there's house fires maybe from lightning, kind of pay the price when things cool down. >> reporter: you have the battle from the cooler air and the
