organized thunderstorms that rolled through a couple of hours ago broke the heat, but not the humidity. the heavy rain is off the coastline, but as we look to the west we'll see spotty showers here or there. so we're not out of the woods just yet. satellite and radar showing we're stuck with clouds and the showers buildings in from the west. temperature-wise, it's better news, 73 degrees in philadelphia. 69 in allentown, 70 in millville. very sticky out here this morning and feeling that way throughout the day. 9:00 a.m., 77. noon, 82. shower and clouds. # p.m., 8 approximate -- 3:00 p.m., 83 degrees, 6:00 p.m., 77 coming down from a

high of 84. >> reporter: things are looking up, the roads are pretty much dry and the debris and limbs are being pulled out of the roadways. we're watching a pinch, just a touch, just a dash of fog in the distance. you can see the headlights coming in distance toward trooper road and heading to king of prussia. at this point no major delays on 422. our crash is gone in souderton, everything is reopened there. we have a broken down vehicle in upper dublin at butler pike. we have downed wires in delaware county along meadow lane at 252. on the big picture our crash we had on the walt whitman bridge westbound heading into philadelphia is gone, not need to worry about that any more. just some building volume along i-95 southbound.

we had a broken down truck along the schuylkill expressway westbound side by the exit for lincoln drive and kelly drive got that moving all lanes on the schuylkill expressway are open and not clogged yet. if you're exiting for city avenue, without on the schuylkill expressway on city avenue they did milling overnight it's a bit of a bumpy ride all lanes are open and you're getting by okay on this thursday morning. >> let's talk about the storm, lightening rain, winds, the storms fired up overnight in the delaware valley. let's go over to "action news" reporter, katherine scott live in west deptford township, gloucester county, new jersey, where a house was struck by lightning, katherine. >> reporter: tam, that's right we've been hearing several reports this morning of fires possibly caused by lightning strikes. that's what authorities believe may have happened in west deptford. there's not a whole lot of visible damage to the house.

but firefighters believe the lightning struck the chimney and sparked a fire in the attic. firefighters were called out at 3:00 a.m. as the storms were rolling through and the fire was under control in a half-hour. the storms were powerful and tore through areas quickly. in warrington township, bucks county there was a fire in the single family home on the 200 block of summer ridge circle. it's too early to say definitively if lightning caused that, as well. it took half-hour to get it under control. >> companies arrived on the scene and smoke showing from the roof area. fire was contained to the attic, we have no reports of injuries civilian or firefighters. fire is under control at this time. >> reporter: the warrington township fire marshal is on the scene of that fire investigating the cause and the origin. >> new this morning, here, a hail of gunfire critically injured a 23-year-old man

overnight. the victim was walking along west cumberland street in strawberry mansion when he was hit with a barrage of bullets. the victim was shot 4 times, but the gunman fired 12 shots. the victim is in stable condition, no arrests yet. >> police are looking for a gunman who killed napped a teenager and stole -- kidnapped a teenager and stole $30,000 from his bustleton home. police say the gunmen grabbed the boy and forced him to call his parents the teen talked to his father. >> they have my son kidnapped and then my son call us from the guy's phone and said give us everything, the money, the jewelry whatever you've got. i guess it scared my son and he told them everything we had and they took everything. >> he gave the suspects cash an jewelry and other valuables.

the gunmen tied the family up and drove off with their son they let him out of the car unharmed. there's a switching problem that may have led to a dozen deaths in gm vehicles. >> reporter: the u.s. is investigating chrysler vehicles for an ignition switch defect similar to the one that led to the gm massive recall. safety regulators are looking at the fact that the ignition key could be knocked out of the position causing problems. stocks continue their run thanks to the federal reserve on interest rates that the u.s. economy would continue to grow moderately. harley davidson may be
