one, meteorologist cecily tynan is at the big board wtd latest. >> stormtracker 6 live double scan showing it's all about location right now. areas north of philadelphia were clearing out but we still have showers south of philadelphia in parts of delaware and new jersey, and the high of the concentration of steady showers now south of millville and wilmington just on the edge between the rain and the clearing skies, medford lakes some rain and lightning strikes associated with the mass of showers now, this has pushed the heat to the south, it's currently 72 degrees and washington 85 and richmond 86. actually most of our region was in the 90s. still humid though, dew points in philadelphia 64 degrees, if you look up to the north though, dew points in the 40s, that is very dry air, this air will be moving in, in the overnight

hours, but last night in the overnight hours, we had strong storms moving in and they did cause damage, doylestown, highland township and hockessin, delaware, homes were struck by lightning and also philadelphia we had wind damage that brought down trees. and west depford lightning causing a house fire and the same in vineland and millville more trees down and the gusty winds continued to the shore, atlantic city reporting 55 miles per hour wind gusts. i'm tracking wet weather for part of your weekend, i have details in the full accuweather forecast. >> thank you cecily. in the meantime, a man from sussex county, delaware, died of complications from the heat. an autopsy will determine how the 65-year-old man died. he had an underlying medical

way into the festival. making their way here to one of the seven stages. the party is on in dover. a sea of -- around the dover international speedway, the firefly festival is underway, 80,000 people are getting their groove on to jack johnson and outkast, to just name a few. >> to have something this big in our little town, it's pretty amazing. >> it's all good. >> i enjoy the crowd and everyone is cool and nice and having a good time. traffic was touch and go here in delaware and that is the case for much of the weekend, firefly began three years ago and has tripled in size since making it one sts largest in the country. >> we exceeded our expectations

6 abc storm tracker app, and check the live radar when storms are heading your way. now to a developing story from south jersey, a school bus fight ended with one girl being sent to the hospital, it happened late this afternoon when school let out for the day. john rawlins is live outside of pennsauken high school with the latest word from police. >> reporter: hi rick, an uncharacteristic and so far unexplained violent occurrence here, happened between a 15 and 16-year-old girl on a school bus here at the high school. the motivation remains a mystery and one girl was sent to the hospital and one is with police, they know each other and they are school mates, it happened shortly before 2:00, the investigating lieutenant describes what occurred. >> one female student 15 years

old when another student entered the bus and sliced her face. officer on location took the actor into custody immediately after she stepped off the bus and started first aid on the victim and she was transported to cooper hospital. >> the last the lieutenant heard she was in surgery in cooper. and they have not recovered a weapon, it could be a razor knife or box cutter, there is no word of what sparked this insdidn't. no exchange of words prior to the incident. there are numerous witnesses, the bus had 42 children on it at the time. >> john, thank you. the united states is edging back to a military role in iraq. president obama said today is he sending as many as 300 military advisers to help put down the rising insurgency there and more

options could be chosen as well. karen travers live now with more from washington. >> reporter: good evening sharrie, president obama insists he is not sending forces back into combat in iraq. the first of those up to 300 special forces, very soon, they are embedded in the senior levels of the iraqi military. >> president obama says there is no military solution in iraq not one led by the united states, instead -- >> we are prepared to take targeted and divisive military action if and when the situation on the ground requires it. >> the u.s. will lead a diplomatic effort to lead to stability in iraq. >> the threat like to isil will develop partnerships for local forces like iraqi, take the lead.

news." >> thank you karen the coverage continues on world news with diane sawer. they will have more from president obama and the possible threat to the u.s. that is at 6:30 right after "action news." back here a north philadelphia funeral director charged with stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from an elderly woman. his attorney says his client loved the victim like a grandmother and they are outrageous in their scope and misleading in their presentation. they say he stole $300,000 from an elderly neighbor that suffered memory loss after a fall. the niece and nephew noticed the missing money and reported it. lets go to the traffic center for an update thursday night. >> a lot of people are saying enough of this, ready for the weekend and getting out early.

we see delays both ways on 95 heading towards the walt whitman bridge and it's crowded the length southbound, they are shore bound, this is the southbound delay headed to the bridge and the northbound side is backing up on the screen here from tasker to cotman avenue, big backups on the roosevelt extension, coming up the schuylkill up to broad street and one lane is getting by and the right lane is blocked because of the accident we showed you during the last half hour, that causes heavy delays on the schuylkill jammed in both directions, columbus boulevard is still blocked at penn's landing where a dump truck took down wires and the water main break approaching 47, this is the blue route 476, a crash mostly off to the side and causing delays from the mid county toll plaza and in dover, big delays because of firefly music festival. they want you to use exit 95 not

er. some incredible video footage is released for the tornadoes last night. 25 homes were destroyed address well as 10 businesses and a dozen houses, a timely warning was issued and only two people were hurt. ocs in gloucester township, new jersey, have created an initiative to help fight drug addiction. they announced the licensed drug and alcohol counselor to the municipal court staff.

they assist as an advocate for those that suffer from addiction and used county resources for help. people that sit at their desk may have a greater risk for heart attacks. ali gorman is live with more on this new research. >> depression can make medical problems worse, but when it comes to heart disease, the number one killer of women, this show for young and middle aged women this is a risk that needs to be addressed. they found women 55 and younger with depression were twice as likely to suffer a heart attack or die from heart disease compared to their healthy peers. the same association was not found in men or older women. depression can lead to poor diet and lack of exercise and sleep and that can raise your risk of

heart disease and doctors say it's associated with inflammation and young women should be screened and treated for depression. >> and if your job has you sitting for long hours and you spend time binge watching tv. according to the national cancer institute. eight hours of sitting gives an increase for colin cancer and lung cancer. it was not found a link for prostate or breast cancer. researchers and nurses like myself say it's more evidence of the benefit of being active. it was a proud day for the class of 2014, the seniors from mastery charter school graduated from high school. more than 1400 students will receive their diplomas in separate ceremonies held today

philadelphia's newest museum is under construction and received a boost today. they were happy to receive a half million dollar check in bank of america, the bank will be corporate founder of the museum. former pennsylvania governor, ed rendell who helped choose the site was part of the check presentation. from our delaware newsroom a surprise from a woman that was about to board a flight from wilmington airport today. she was recognized as the 200,000 and passenger to fly from the airport on frontier. canaly lombard is visiting family and she receive aid $500
