center city apartment. chris sowers here with a look at the accuweather forecast. not bad tore sunday. >> reporter: not bad we're calling it a sunday stunner. lots of sunshine expected and low humidity levels. there's the view at penns landing, we have a little bit of cloud cover overhead worry expecting sunshine as the day wears on, temperatures top out in the low 80s. perfect finish to the weekend. 73 degrees in philadelphia. 70 in trenton, 72 in wilmington. millville, 73. sea isle city, 71. on the boards in atlantic city, 72. allentown, 67 and poconos 64. with the clouds fizzle away we'll see temperatures in the 80s. it will be a nice enjoyable day as the humidity levels drop as the afternoon wears on.

good day for golf. nice afternoon, temperatures in the low 70s. 3:00 p.m., there's the forecasted high of 82 degrees. the fact there is no humidity or at least there won't be any this afternoon means the 82 will feel like 82. as we look ahead at the workweek. stays quiet through tuesday. the humidity creeps up by tuesday afternoon. wednesday, in the upper 80s maybe low 90s and these two combined will trigger a round of thunderstorms wednesday evening. i'll have the details in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, i'll talk about that in just a few minutes. >> the big story on "action news" is a violent night across philadelphia. 8 people were shot, two killed in a three hour time span in four separate locations. the latest happened outside a nightclub in the city's tioga section. phyllis police say the violence was sparked outside the galaxy nightclub object germantown

avenue at -- on germantown avenue at 1:40, a man was shot in the stomach and died at the hospital. two people were shot, a teenager killed when a large crowd got out of control. 300 people gathered for a barbecue in north philadelphia. police arrived to disburse the crowd, but as they began to leave, gunshots were fired. 16-year-old was shot in the head, a 19-year-old was shot in the back while trying to run from the gunfire. else in stable condition. bullets pierced the windshield of a police officers' vehicle. the violence continues in other parts of city, the victims include two men who are hospitalized and 17-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. the action cam was on the 5500 block of north american street in logan. two men in their 20s were shot, one in critical condition, the other stable condition.

>> a police officer was seriously hurt in a crash in gloucester county. you can see the damage to the black suv involved in the crash at south black horse pike. it is not yet known if the does an seen in the video is involved in the crash. meanwhile, the search continues at this hour for a rape i also who attacked -- a rapist who attacked a woman inside her center city apartment. kenneth moten has the details. >> reporter: saturday night there was a little more caution in the air in popular rittenhouse square after the beating and rape of a 26-year-old woman on spruce near 19th. >> you hear about that it's a rude awakening that you have to watch your surroundings and know who is around you. >> reporter: philadelphia svu say after 1:30, surveillance video shows the man stalking a

young woman who was alone. he secured his bike on the sidewalk before sneaking up behind her. investigators say it's he didn't have a weapon, but he strong armed the victim into a third floor apartment where he sexually assaulted her. >> my parents wanted me to live here because it's the safest neighborhood in philadelphia. >> reporter: the victim is a doctor at the university of pennsylvania. police say she was out with friends at a bar. crime scene investigators dusted for fingerprints and retraced the steps of the victim looking for more surveillance video. those who live in the area say this is another reminder of the lurking dangers. >> i won't walk around any more at night, i'll probably get a cab or always have a buddy with me. >> reporter: the young victim is safe with her family. police say they did not recognize her attacker. investigators only have a vague description of the suspect, 25 to 30-year-old hispanic male who

was wearing all black a dark baseball cap and messenger bag on his back. kenneth moten channel 6 "action news." >> a man facing animal cruelty charges in bucks county after authorities were alerted to photos online of a box turtle that was shot with a gun. the bucks county spca has charged an 18 with a crime. it's illegal to shoot them. if the man is convicted, the offense carries a fine of 50 to $750. atlantic city casino is preparing to make a big slash online. resorts casino hotel will join poker stars and full tilt poker to form a betting option. it could rival the market leaders borgata and caesars inter active.

children have a place to play thanks to hard work and heavy lifting by volunteers this weekend. members from the kensington community and 6abc and kaboom gave up their saturday to build a state-of-the-art play ground and garden for the north square community alliance. children have a swing set to play on compete with a pair of slides. >> our children need a place workout and of course they learn to play and this playground is going to help them immensely. become strong in social skills. >> we're supposed to to do this as a community, everyone, find the time, because we live busy living we got to slow down and give to other people that don't have as much. >> 200 volunteers took part in the day long project. disney which is the parent company of 6abc helped to make this project possible, and it

up above, it's a very tranquil sunday morning. 73 in philadelphia. millville the same. allentown, 67. reading, 70. allentown, 68. dewpoints have come up a little bit this morning, yesterday it was nice and comfortable out there, we had dewpoints in the 50s, this morning we're seeing low 60s now across the delaware valley. only our scale that is slightly humid. we started to get into the 60 to 65-degree range. we'll call it slightly humid. come tuesday afternoon, the dewpoints are up in the upper 60s, low 70s. they are climbing from this point on. wednesday, wednesday heerchg they will go higher -- evening they will low higher. i wouldn't be surprised if you're in the 70 to 75 category. it will turn oppressively more humid over the next several days. today is a good one, tuesday a comfortable, and

tuesday everything goes downhill in the humidity department. we have a couple of frontal systems of systems that swing through. you can see these blowoff cloud tops here. the humidity is very high in this part of the country. that causes showers and thunderstorms. we're seeing thunderstorms in northern portions of kansas and southeastern nebraska. all this activity shifts east over the next several days. today is nice and quiet. monday and tuesday is nice and quiet. sum wednesday all that activity will slide east. there's that chance of stronger storms wednesday evening, maybe a couple of severe thunderstorms. a nice sea breeze will kick in for the jersey shore. future tracker 6, the models hinting toward showers this afternoon, i'm not buying into

family members displaced by the fire. gunfire broke out overnight in atlantic city sending two men to the hospital. it happened at martin luther king and mediterranean avenue around 3:30. police found several shell casings and soon discovered two men had been dropped off at atlanticare medical center with gunshot wounds. while the action cam was at the hospital, two women got into a scuffle that police say is related to the shootings. the victims are expected to be okay. police are investigating. police need your help in identifying a violent armed robber they want off the streets before someone gets hurt. this is surveillance of the suspect who has been tarring -- targeting markets in west philadelphia. he shoved $200 in cash into a dark shopping bag and ran away.

this morning accused of assaulting members of her own family. solo was arrested in seattle for allegedly assaulting her sister and nephew. police arrived after they received a 911 call that a woman was hitting people. she is due in court tomorrow to face charges of assault. her lawyer said that solo was the victim in the argument. this was the messy scene this weekend outside a country music concert in pittsburgh, pennsylvania. police say 20 people were arrested for fighting disorderly conduct and alcohol related offenses. they were heading to see the luke bryant concert. it's called a repeat performance of a show last year when tailgaters left a mess. goodness gracious. some concert goers said the area was not prepared for that crowd and makes the city look bad. >> well there's much more to

get what else called mixing takes place, the upper leaves are drier that air will be transported down to the surface and the humidity will go down. it will be comfortable. all the activity is out here, unfortunately, again, across the high plain states. we have a good complex of showers and storms pushing into iowa. this ultimately will move into the delaware valley. it's going to take about three days to get here, maybe four, but this complex of showers and storms, the frontal system producing that weather will move in by wednesday evening. it has the potential to trigger stronger storms for us, as well. we'll have to watch the progress of the frontal system over the next couple of days. back home today not much going combination of sun and clouds, the model hinting at a shower or two. the poconos everybody stays dry, 20 to 25% chance for the poconos, again i think that will be the exception. the general rule will be combination of sun and clouds. the jersey shore sunny skies,

"action news" reporter, david murphy joins us live from near the scene in center city. >> reporter: that center city video is out there, the police have released it. we have to tell you up front, it was shot at night, so you cannot see the man's features, police are hoping someone recognizes him simply by the way he carries himself. you can see the man walking on the 1900 block of spruce street at 1:30, the 26-year-old victim was walking home from the ladder are 15 tavern at 15th an sansom. she was approached from behind by the suspect who grabbed her by the neck and forced her into the apartment where he sexually assaulted her. later he took her iphone and keys and left the buildings and later reentered the building and police say he had been riding a bike earlier that he had locked on streets. they are describing him as a hispanic male 25 to 30 years old.
