new jersey. gun shots rang out all over the state. we have the new video. >> but first up, good morning, i'm tamala edwards here along with erin o'hearn. matt o'donnell is off this morning and we're going to take a look at your weather and traffic. for that we'll go over to meteorologist, david murphy and to karen rogers. good morning. >> good morning, guys. and a little different picture this morning on satellite. you'll notice how cloud cover which was all the way back by pittsburgh yesterday morning has now spilled across the state. we saw some of it yesterday. we'll see more today. i think we'll start out with some decent sunshine and then the chance of clouds increasing during the day is out there. couple of showers out by pittsburgh. that doesn't look like it's going to be an issue for us until late tonight. 67 degrees in philadelphia right now, 67 in allentown, 65 in wilmington, 62 in trenton and we're holding 70's close to the coast at this early hour. and as we go through the day it is going to be another oney warm one. 72 degrees by 9 o'clock, 80 by noon. 84 degrees by 3:00 with a high of 85 degrees. we'll probably hit this around 4 o'clock and then drop back to 82 by 6 o'clock. it may feel a bit more humid

through the day but still not too bad. you can get out there and get done whatever it is you need to get done. tomorrow it gets even more humid, though and there's a better chance of those showers and maybe even a drenching thunderstorm. karen rogers when i come back in a second, we'll talk more about that. >> sounds good to me, dave. let's head out to i-95 right now looking live nearly a gain. the construction here is clear. it was a little slow from the betsy ross bridge to approaching allegheny. you can see it not looking too bad from this shot nearly a gain. on the big picture here, the blue route, schuylkill, i-95 all in good shape right now with speeds mostly in the 50's. the phils play tonight at 7:05, so you'll see extra congestion there in south philadelphia. and right now with your bridge overview the burlington bristol bridge scheduled to go up at 5:20's. tacony palmyra also scheduled up about the same time and the betsy ross bridge three lanes open each way. no big problem right there. you're clear on the betsy. of course construction commodore barry westbound one lane closed until september so you'll be dealing with that one as you head out, tam. >> thank you, karen. this is new this morning.

one man is in the hospital in stable condition after he was shot in south jersey overnight. the action cam was on the scene in the 2600 block of baird boulevard in camden. police say the suspect was shot in the neck and the search for that shooter is going on right now. police are closer they believe to crack the case of a center city rape. several people are now being questioned in connection with that attack. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live in hunting park with the very latest on the investigation. you brought us this story yesterday and now you've got the follow-up. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, and police say they got a ping off the victim's stolen cell phone and that's what sources say led them to that address in south philadelphia. several men were taken into custody and they were taken here to the special victims unit and that's where they remain this morning. only "action news" was there in south philadelphia yesterday when those men were taken in for questioning from the 1800 block of south eighth street. it was around 1:20 saturday morning on the 1900 block of

spruce street when surveillance video captured the moment a man secured his bike and walked up behind the 26-year-old doctor from the hospital of the university of pennsylvania. police say the suspect strong armed the victim into her apartment building and repeatedly raped her. he left and then minutes later returned and assaulted her again. police released two composite sketches of the rapist who took off with her keys and iphone. sources say the police raided house on south eighth after they got a ping off the victim's phone. investigators took evidence from the home including a bicycle. neighbors stood by stunned at what they were watching. >> across the street from me, yeah, i would never even think that, no. you never know. goes to show you, you never know like people, your neighbors, anything. >> reporter: at this point police are not officially commenting on that raid or the men they took into custody. we're live in hunting park, katherine scott, channel 6 "action news." >> thanks so much, katherine for that report. we have an update on the steam leak at the pennsylvania

convention center that we told you about at 11:00. officials say the problem is now under control. chopper 6 hd was over the convention center last night while firefighters converged on the scene. the steam triggered alarms but crews say there was never a real threat. there's no word yet on what caused the problem. thirteenth street remains closed between arch and race. >> it's 5:05 now and a man threatening residents in south philadelphia with a pellet gun was in for a surprise when he got to one person. the action cam was at the scene sixth and wolf streets a little after 10 o'clock last night. when the suspect at the time tend another man with a pellet gun the other man hit the man in the head. so far police have not filed any charges. >> police are asking for the public's help to locate a man wanted for corruption of minors. lansdale police have issued an arrest warrant for 28-year-old teugie askew. parents told police on june 6

a juvenile male invited a group of young girls into ace askew's apartment on the 100 block of east main street. police say the boy recorded the girls while they were under the influence. police say askew was home at the time and interacted with the children while all of this happened. >> taking a turn now, talking about this accuweather getting my hair spray ready for the humidity coming between today and tomorrow. >> i have no complaints. >> probably a little bit muggier as the day goes on especially later tonight and tomorrow definitely looks more humid ann little bumpy. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows you we're dry for now. as we take a look outside we have sky 6 an hint of sunshine coming up over the horizon. looks like we'll get early sun mixing with clouds and perhaps a few more clouds as the day goes on. 67 degrees heading out the door this morning, not too bad. winds are light, 65 degrees in wilmington, 62 in trenton, 67 degrees right now in allentown and almost 70 in reading and we are sitting on 70 in parts of south jersey down by the shore. millville still bringing up

the rear at 59 degrees right now. satellite and radar shows you how there is more cloud cover around. i would still recommend keeping those sunglasses handy if you're up and down 95 or out the turnpike this morning. there's enough holes in the clouds to be able to allow some sunshine through. eventually we may see a sprinkle or shower but that would be late tonight. i don't think we'll have 20 worry about that during the day and probably not the early part of the evening. 84 is the high in allentown, sun mixing with clouds, more humid as the day goes on. not oppressive. i think you can get things done without too much trouble. ocean water temperature up to 74 to 76 up and down the coast so it feels really good in the water. on the beach today, not bad, sun and clouds, get up to about 78 degrees in most beach locations. farther north up around atlantic city brigantine you might even hit 80 degrees for a lie on the beach this afternoon and nobody is going to complain about that, right? sun and clouds then in philadelphia, a bit more humid as the day goes on. 85 degrees is the high. later on tonight there's the possibility of more muggy air building in. here's how numbers are going to go. by 8 o'clock we'll be up to

70. by 11 o'clock the upper 70's. pretty nice morning to go out and get things done though i think. by 2 o'clock, 84 degrees. your high of 85 hits around four and then we're probably still sitting close to that by 5 o'clock and even by 6:00 the low 80's. and then for the phillies tonight, 80 degrees for the first pitch, 74 in the ninth inning, mostly cloudy skies digging in as the game goes on and it may feel a a little bit more muggy as the game continues as well and down the pike we've got that union, u.s. cup match against the new york cosmos. mostly cloudy an bit muggy for the game, 80 degrees at the start and 76 for the 90th minute down in chester. then tomorrow we've got more clouds in the morning and by about lunchtime there's the possibility that some showers begin to build in and later in the afternoon and evening some heavy downpours are possible, at least in spots from some thunderstorms that could develop tomorrow. your exclusive accuweather 7-day, 85 degrees, sun and clouds today. tomorrow more humid. you'll definitely feel it tomorrow. 86 degrees is the high and there is that chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm.

be here to help you when that happens. let's go live, just construction, this is langhorne bucks county route one at 213 and it's blocking the ramp from one southbound to 213 so you have to watch for that construction still out there closing that ramp right here. you can see on route 1 itself things looking okay. let's take you to the pennsylvania turnpike. construction here eastbound near willow grove and westbound near norristown blocking the left lane and center lane here and blocking the right lane and center lane as you're headed near willow grove. two lanes blocked. watch for in right now. on the pennsylvania turnpike. in hammonton atlantic county also construction causing a bit of an issue route 30 both ways between 206 and sea grove avenue. construction blocking a lane until 6 o'clock but the road is opened and we've got light volume so we're not going call that too much of a problem. in your commuter traffic report more construction. that's all people are talking about today. so in logan township in gloucester county 322 watch for some construction there causing some restrictions. weather-wise we have no weather related problems with your commute. so, that's good news, right?

67 degrees, pretty comfortable out there right now in philadelphia, 67 in allentown, just 59 in millville. and just a touch humid today as david has been saying. we'll have sunshine and clouds and a high of 85 degrees. warm but average for this time of year, tam. >> okay, thank you, karen. all new this morning police in new jersey are looking for clues in a double shooting that left two people in serious condition. take a look at this new video just in from the scene in trenton. police tell "action news" two people were shot on the 200 block of randall street. those gun shots rang out just about 1 o'clock this morning. police are now talking to witnesses and so far no one has been arrested for this crime. also new and horrifying this morning a landscaper was reportedly killed after being sucked into an industrial size wood chipper in south florida. the unidentified victim was clearing brush with two others when he's believe d to have mistakenly fallen into that powerful sledding machine. no suspicion of foul play but police are still trying to

determine exactly what happened. new information is still coming out about that man and women who killed two las vegas police officers in a wal-mart shopper. police say jared and amanda miller wore adult diapers and carried four handguns a shot gun water and food during their killing spree. the couple was killed earlier this month after a 15 minute exchange of gunfire with swat officers. 52 shots were fired by the millers and officers before the couple died. jared miller was fatally wounded in the chest and his wife killed herself. >> after winning five straight games the phils are now on the wrong kind of streak. they've dropped three in a row. last night at citizens bank park the miami marlins scored two quick runs the first inning and tacked on two more later in the game. the phils, they went scoreless. they lose four-nothing. the phils and marlins face each other again tonight. rj umberger is a flier again picked "philly what's up" a trade that center popular flier scott hartnell

is up right now. the betsy ross we've got three lanes opened each way so no problems on the betsy. commodore barry westbound one lane closed until the beginning of september so that construction continues. no problems with the delaware memorial bridge. our good friend the ben is looking good but eastbound we've got the right lane blocked so watch for that. eastbound two lanes opened westbound you're doing a little better with three, dave. >> all right, i tweeted out some of my followers yesterday asking for vacation photos and debbie i think i did spell that right sends this from in from fork maine. had a nice day on the beach. probably near york harbor where i've been to and it is nice up there. if you have any vacation photos you would like to tweet in maybe we'll get them on "action news." 72 degrees right now -- i should say right now about 68 degrees but 72 degrees by 9 o'clock. it is going to be another warm one today. by noon we'll get up to 80 in case you're running errands, the morning probably a little more comfortable in the afternoon. by 3 o'clock, we're up to 84 degrees and we're actually going to get a high of 85 degrees. that will probably hit at around 4 o'clock before we dip back to 82 by 6 o'clock. it may also feel a bit more

humid as the afternoon goes on, okay so a little tip if you're doing the errands morning might be better than later on. on the airport board green aircraft although charlotte north carolina has a couple showers and maybe some low ceilings. travel weather looks pretty good up and down the east coast. parts of the midwest and areas just to the east of the rockies could be a little bumpy today, tam. >> thank you, david. going on to health check, women who are exposed to a lot of pesticides may be putting their babies at risk. a new study shows women who live within a mile of farms treated with pesticides had a 60 percent higher risk of having a child with a form of autism. the study was done in california where there are 200 million pounds of pesticides used every year. critics say the study failed to find a direct link between pesticides and autism. >> in just six months the number of recalled cars has hit an annual record. abc's renna ninan has the details and the rest of this morning's business headlines

>> the plan who attacked a nun is still on the run. police say the attack happened outside a port richmond shop rite on sunday. the 65-year-old woman tells "action news" she was waiting for a friend when the man jumped into the driver's side of her car and started beating her. she says he tossed her out of the car before driving off. the victim suffered multiple cuts to her face. police are looking for the 20094 door silver chevy malibu. >> in the morning buzz we're talking about how the laws have to keep up with the times and in new york state the laws have to keep up with people who want to take selfies with tigers its a thing. the wall street journal just did a story on it and they said on dating web sites like ok cupid this is the trend what people want to do but maybe they should know that there were 15 new yorkers hurt by tigers. different instances of what's going on. the governor is expected to sign it and it just says they don't want you hugging, petting, touching them and i

midwest. >> good morning, it's 5:30 on this tuesday, june 24th. >> matt o'donnell is off. erin o'hearn is joining us. let's go right over to meteorologist, david murphy and to karen rogers. taking a look at your weather and traffic. good morning. >> and our satellite image this morning is showing some more clouds spilling across pennsylvania than what we had yesterday. and you see some breaks in the east so i think we'll see some early sunshine. as the day goes on there's the chance that we start to gather a few more clouds into the region and late tonight there could be some of that shower activity that you see out by pittsburgh slipping through in a couple spots. 67 degrees and dry right now though in philadelphia and feeling fairly comfortable once again this morning. 65 in wilmington, 67 in allentown, 62 in trenton and still holding onto 70's it's a both the boardwalk in atlantic city and down the coast in sea isle city. if you're headed out this morning, look for at least partly cloudy skies. some of you may see more sun than others. 66 by 6 o'clock and by 8 o'clock we're expecting a temperature of about 70 so the numbers do inch upward pretty quickly this morning once again. 72 by 9:00. by noon looks like we'll be up to about 80 and the
