this noon, two teenagers are recovering from a shooting in philadelphia. and a car slams into a local home and now the driver is facing charges. but the big story on "action news" this noon is still developing in delaware ark state police trooper is recuperating after a confrontation with a suspect this morning. that suspect is dead. 26-year-old corporal lloyd mccann tried to pull over the suspect's car at west bury lane. there was a brief chase and the driver got out of his car and started shooting. the trooper was shot twice but he fired back managing to kill the suspect. now we are joined live by eva pilgram. >> 26-year-old delaware state trooper a four-year veteran of the force was air-lifted.

can you see the helicopter here, after being shot by a driver he was trying to pull over. it was corporal lloyd mccann and the man that shot at him is dead. >> this started as a domestic dispute. a 29-year-old man choked his girlfriend and took off on the run, the police put out a trips of him and his car. after a brief chase, the suspect stopped. >> upon stopping that vehicle, the suspect exited the vehicle, and immediately exchanged gun fire with the trooper, the trooper returned fire striking that 29-year-old male. in the exchange of gun fire was shot twice. >> you never know when a bad day in coming, and when it occurs you know it will kick in and in this case the trooper responded

to an incident and is able to go home at the end of the day. >> corporal mccann is in stable condition and we are told he is conscious and alert and talking. mccann's family is here with him at the hospital. temperatures across the region, even now at the noon hour, fairly in the day we are up to 84 in philadelphia, 85 in wilmington and the lehigh valley, 82 and reading is jumping the gun and 83 in trenton and the shore is better, we talk about the dew point, the measure of how humid it is. if you get a dew point of 70 degrees, 73 in millville and 72 in willimington and areas in wilmington and south and in the lehigh valley and south getting into the oppressive territory, it's just one small area being measured and there are dew points around the city as well. it's one of those humid days and very uncomfortable. you get the warm saturated air in place, it's easy to start popping precipitation especially when you have the cold front out to the west. all we have seen is a small

couple of showers inland at the garden state parkway, as you look farther out to the west however, we are looking at a more defined line of precipitation and as we get later into the afternoon we'll see more showers pop as this gets closer and drenching thunderstorms as well especially areas from philadelphia to the northwest is best for that. future tracker 6 picking up that part of the story. as we look at the progression of this from now until 5:00, a couple of showers possible and some of these may set up closer to philadelphia and i think the better chance of that is later on this evening. you can see close to the city we have isolated and heavy downpours opening up in this high, humid air, we have more on future tracker 6 and what to expect from these storms, and what comes next in the seven day, but for now it's humid out there. a steamy one, thank you david.

>> you can keep track of the accuweather forecast any time by downloading the free 6 abc storm tracker app, it gives you access to live radar and weather alerts posted for your area. philadelphia police are trying to figure out what happened inside of an olney home where a man and woman were found stabbed several times this morning. the victims are in critical condition and the investigation is more difficult because the home where it happened is full of trash and debris, "action news" reporter, katherine scott, as more from the crime scene. >> reporter: a 71-year-old woman stabbed at least 15 times from her next to her feet, her 54-year-old roommate stabbed at loost twice on the torso, police were on the 5900 block of north four street in olney trying to determine who was responsible. >> i don't know if they stabbed each other or they were stabbed by someone else.

it's hard to tell. >> reporter: complicating marters, police say this is a hoarder house. the spca was on scene collecting cats. and a back window looked like it was forced open and it's hard to tell what exited before this moning. >> it's filled with debris, trash and furniture and anything you can name. >> reporter: multd pel 911 calls came in since 4:00 a.m. an 18-year-old from across the street was hosing her down along with some of the blood. nearby residents say that the woman had a troubled relationship with her neighbors and her house was one of the issues, but the woman and her roommate seemed to get along. >> a good guy, says hi to

everybody, tries to break up the problems between her and the neighbors. >> as for the cats they are appearing to be collected. they have a flea and respiratory problems. as for the 18-year-old that was hosing down the crime scene, he has been take and down to northwest detectives as a witness. neighbors will come to discuss safety concerns in the light of a rape of a young doctor. milton garcia is charged with attacking and raping the victim in her apartment, he allegedly stalked her as she made her way home from a bar. tonight councilwoman johnson will hold a town hall meeting to talk about acts of violence against women. it's at 6:00 p.m. at the presbyterian church and you can get more information at

6abc.com. in olney a person was trapped briefly underneath a vehicle after this crash this morning. chopper 6 hd was over the block of 56th west fisher street, one person was hit by the vehicle and trapped beneath it. no word yet on the extent of the injuries or what led up to the accident. from our delaware newsroom, police say the driver of this car faces dui charges. after the vehicle slammed into a house on price's corner. >> no one was seriously hurt, the driver was taken into custody. two teenagers are recovering after they were shot in philadelphia's gray's ferry section last night. detectives say a 15-year-old boy was hit in the hand and thigh while riding his bike and investigators found the second victim a 14-year-old boy at his home nearby, with a graze wound

in his shoulder. they were both taken to children's hospital. philadelphia police are on the alert for a taxi stolen from its driver in the west manheim street, a gunman wearing a mask took the german town taxi cab at 6:00 this morning and the suspect took the driver's cell phone and police believe the gunman is still driving in the cab last seen heading westbound on manheim street towards wissahickon avenue. fifa launched an investigation into the soccer star that bit another player during the world cup the penalty the company is facing today. and meteorologist, david murphy is back with the accuweather forecast.

meteorologist, david murphy is here now with accuweather and boy it is a humid one. this is probably the most humid day from start to finish that we have had this season. stormtracker 6 live double scan showing we are mainly dry across

the region but i'll give you a look at that eroding shower, it used to have yellow in it and now as it pushes into the atlantic city airport it's falling apart a little bit. and that is an indication how humid and unstable the air mass is. we'll see more of that north and west of i-95, as we take a look outside, sky 6 is bright and hazy in that picture, not a big surprise considering we do have a lot of humidity out there in the air right now. there are folks getting nice boat time and beach time in that picture. 84 in philadelphia, the numbers soared through the morning hours, we started out in the low 70s and most of the readings around the area are above 70 and that is what we call oppressive air, winds out of the south at 9 miles per hour. 84 in allentown and same as in the lehigh valley, and reading and wilmington 84 in wildwood.

everybody is cooking and all because of a cold front out to the west with cloud cover ahead of it, and the flow ahead of that front is making things real soupy, there are additional showers on the shore of delaware. and you have that one little guy near the garden state parkway in south jersey, and there may be more coming up later. we'll see the affects of what you see out to the west. between now and 5:00 you can see at time there's will be showers popping through, heavier stuff is north and west of philadelphia but we can't totally disallow something. there is the possibility of something here or there, along the i-95 corridor, and most of the action is to the west and 10:00 or 11:00 it starts to push off to the north and most of

what you see out there, where it hits a fairly heavy downpour producing thunderstorms. most of them are in the evening, and the worst of this will be north and west of i-95 mainly in the evening and where you get one of these heavy hitters, you'll get a quick 2 inches of rain than is enough to produce localized flooding and you may see a lot of lightning out of these storms and the other story is the oppressive air, take it easy out there, cool drinks if you work outside or try to do errands or anything like that. at the shore 73 at the water and nice enough at the beach if you don't catch the rain, 82 and humid as you walk just a little bit off the beach, if you have plans to head out this afternoon in philadelphia, look out, 88 is the high, it's going to be a hot one out there this afternoon. today's high is 88 and tomorrow is still unsettled and 87 and the chance of a shower or thunderstorm at times, probably
