is to our north and west and all of this is missing us to the north and west, so good news as we progress through the evening hours, none of that severe, there is only about 200 lightning strikes within this areas, typically a line like this has 2,000 lightning strikes, even to the north that is not severe. we have downpours to the east of wilmington and parts of salem county, new jersey, there is one downpour that popped in chester county and has three lightning strikes in the last 15 minutes, heading towards radnor and route 30, moving away from media. heavy rain with this, it's not severe lifting off to the north. that is it going on right now across the area. all of us though, in the summer soup, 89 in allentown 87 in reading and 82 in millville. but a beautiful sea breeze at the shore, temperature there's in the middle 70s, factor in the

women in delaware county have experienced. vernon odom is now live where investigators are trying to catch the man before he strikes again. good afternoon vernon. >> good afternoon brian. upper darby residents are tense and to a degree upper darby police are encourage that to an extent, they fear predators are becoming more aggressive and active. >> number one, lock the door. >> upper darby police commander has this whole town on the alert. he says there is a violent sexual predator on the prowl. back on april 16th, he entered this apartment building at 3:00 in the morning, a woman told police she was asleep on the couch when she awakened to a man in her living room. she screamed and he fled. >> it seems like this man is stalking these women because he

finds out where they live and is able to get in there without a force. and in most cases they are either leaving a window open or a door open. >> it's the same motivation in the same area of town. two cases alone last week. the man gets in without forced entry and startles his sleeping prey. >> they need to get in to the criminals. i have four women in my apartment building, they got little kids. it's a mess though. >> it's frightening for the neighborhood. >> yeah, real frightening for the neighborhood. >> police say that the suspect is a black male in his early 20s, 5'8" to 5'10" inches tall. with a gap in between his front teeth and a goatee. >> we are calling up all the sex

officers helped to got the family out and both officers were both treated after breathing in too much smoke. no word yet on how this one start started. a woman is in the hospital and a man is under arrest after a stabbing this afternoon in north philadelphia. it happened inside of a house on the west side of glenwood avenue. a woman was stabbed five times in the neck and chest. she went to the hospital in a car and not in an ambulance, police arrested a man they say was the attacker and they have not told us the names of anyone involved. >> they caught the second suspect of robberies at two gun ranges. police say he shot a customer outside of the del way valley sports center and stole seven weapons from the victim on june 12th and robbed a man outside of

percy's gun range. he is charged are robbery and aggravated assault. his female accomplice surrendered soon after the crimes. the supreme court issued a ruling that could stop -- they use tiny antennas that transfer signals to the prescribers, the ruling against them is being called a major victory, saying that area is essentially stealing their product. they said we are gratified that they upheld the principals that high quality consumers expect and demand is protected. meanwhile the court issued another ruling, in a unanimous

ruling they said that police cannot search anyone's cell phone without a warrant. since our phones contain so mfrp information these days about us, police need a warrant before they can look through them. to business now, stocks rebounded from big losses, the dow jumped almost 50 points and the nasdaq 30 and the suspect jumped 9.5 points. suppliers in china will begin mass producing two new iphones next month. they will be 4.7 or 5.5 inches across. that is a big jump from the iphone 5 s and the iphone 5 c. it makes them close to the size of samsung screens. now a check of the traffic report today. lets go to matt pellman in the

minutes, so it's just a downpour near king of prussia and a popular area where you have the interchange of 422, 202 and the pennsylvania turnpike and this extends to radnor, and the schuylkill expressway heading north on the northeast extension, this particular downpour is moving in that direction and one near jenkintown as well. and west of swedesboro and 130 and the new jersey turnpike, one shower passing through here. some are releasing rainfall rates of a half inch to inch an hour as they pass through. temperatures are warm to the north and west. slatington 84 and warrington 86 and oxford 83 and southern new jersey, especially right along the shore, it's still uncomfortably muggy and temperatures are cooler with a

sea breeze in the 70s. and smyrna and dover coming in at 85 and 88 degrees, those dew points are extremely oppressive to the south where the numbers jump to the middle to low 70s. and humid to the north and the due upon is a moisture of the warm and muggy and a possible thunderstorm around and on if there say strong interruption, the game should get in no problem. satellite and radar, most activity is missing us to the north and that is the general trek but as we look at future tracker, by 7:00 they should be spotty and there is the broken line from lancaster and reading approaching i-95 at 9:00 tonight with the downpours and a few thunderstorms, by 11:00 moving away from philadelphia and then it's off the coast here just after midnight with some lingering clouds.

toddler to witness their bad doings. a man and woman suffered serious injuries after being stabbed and side of a home that is filled with trash and debris. john rawlins outside of the street on north fourth street. how this happened remain a history now. >> reporter: it was a particularly bloody scene, the 71-year-old female victim is upgraded condition as for her 54-year-old roommate we don't have a condition on him. police are talking to a 18-year-old neighbor who heard the screams and went to help the victims, however detectives made a dramatic entrance into the home where he lives. >> using a battering ram, detectives executed a search warrant across from where the stabbing happened. the boy said he heard screams

and went to help the victims. waez hosing down the scene when they arrived. he was not just hosing down the scene but also the bloody female. they said he was actually squirting the hose on the female, which isn't good. >> they donned body suits to enter the scene. the 71-year-old victim was described as a hoarder and her home cluttered inside and out. and infested with fleas from several dozen cats show came inside. >> 70 stab wounds from her next to her toes. show was openly argumentative with some of her neighborhood. and people were open about the attack. >> i'm sorry it happened to her, nobody deserves something like that. >> police are not saying exactly

what they think happened here, was it a domestic situation, did someone attack the couple? the investigation continues. john rawlins, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you john. from our new jersey newsroom, a man was found shot to death in a trenton alleyway early this morning, it was on the 400 block of kyler avenue, the man who is hispanic was shot in the head sometime overnight and he has not been identified, anybody that has information on the deadly shooting is asked to call trenton police, a 36-year-old man is in critical condition this afternoon after being shot several times, at 9:00 a.m. and 32nd and hundreding ton streets in strawberry mansion. the victim was rushed to the hospital and police continue to look for that shooter. now, to a live look at

norristown and abington and willow grove and approaching radnor and manayunk had a history of producing three lightning strikes, but it has not produced a lightning strike in the last 10 to 12 minutes, now it's a torrential downpour, and no lightning from these storms at the present time. we'll watch those as they lift into montgomery county. double scan live shows the main action is to the north and west. and all of that will msz us to the north, and a little bid in central pennsylvania that we'll watch as the cold front pushes through, the heat index now, near 90 degrees, especially north of philadelphia, 91 in reading and 91 in allentown and a bit of a break at the shore. we'll time the storms plus cooler weather in the seven day. >> thank you adam. from our delaware newsroom, a driver is facing dui charges after slamming their vehicle

it's still ongoing efforts to find malaysia airlines flight 370 as shifted its focus to a different area of the indian ocean, the new search is focused south of the first suspected crash site and that plane disappeared on march 8th with 239 people on board. malaysia airlines started to boost its marketing efforts to try and recover losses in the wake of that tragedy. the company's ceo says they need a quote, radical overhaul to survive. a texas woman broke down in court after being accused of keeping 15 dangerous snakes in her home.

in the outer drive and on the ramp from landsdale to the southbound northeast extension, 476, a crash is partially blocking the ramp, coming off the walt whitman bridge out of new jersey, not the best drive, speeds around 12 and 13 miles per hour made worse by a crash at 295, taking out the two left lanes on 42. and a pair of crashes in burlington county, one is in willingboro and the other in cinnaminson on albany road. we'll check it again and hopefully things look up in the next half hour. a center city courtyard was turned into a pop-up tennis court, people were invited to take a lesson outside of ben fish bank on market street. fans were taught to serve and volley and backhand and were

place to beat the heat today, that is at the shore. take a look at the umbrellas, the tasselled are flapping quite a bit and a decent amount of sun and temperatures are cooler down there. lets head to double scan live as we look across the area, most of the action is north and west of harrisburg and pottsville, if you look at the area as a whole, it's relatively quiet right now. a batch of downpours in southern parts of montgomery county and the northern part of the county and the airport heading towards elkins park and jenkintown and abington. no lightning strikes out of this. that is an old lightning strike, now just a heavy downpour, and some of those downpours that pass through montgomery county are falling apart and weakening

and 309 and warminster where double scan live is situated right here, and lifting to the north, the lightning is zero and moving fast, 20 to 25 miles per hour. we are not seeing much in the way of flooding with these downpours. relatively good news so far this evening. warm in allentown, 89 degrees and 86 in dover and 86 in trenton, right along the shore the wind is coming in off the water, it's in the p and millville cutting the number back to 82, as we look to the north and west. especially in pennsylvania south of binghamton, impress he in fact, thunderstorms north of lewis town and heading towards scranton and we'll watch the southern end of this to pass through some of our pennsylvania coins later this evening.
