wissahickon avenue. a former philadelphia police officer is in prison for interfering with a drug investigation. rafael cordareo is sentenced to 15 years in prison. officers say he tipped off his half brother about a surveillance camera monitoring a drug trafficking organization that police say his brother was a member of. a peco worker was shocked while performing maintenance work in delaware county, the 26-year-old from ridley park was saved by the emergency service unit. that unit is especially trained

and can carry out responses like resuscitation. the medic was taken to the hospital and conscious when admitted. peco is investigating what actually happened. alert lifeguards prevented a girl from drowning, they spolted the girl in trouble and four of them jumped into action. >> we cleared the pool and one got the supplies and two were doing the cpr. the girl was unconscious when she was pulled from the water and came to after cpr and was taken to the hospital. the incident is a reminder to always be aware where kids are at a pool and take toys out when children are not swimming and even if kids are not old enough to swim they should learn how to float. >> governor chris christie voted to veto a package of tax hikes, during his 122nd budget -- he doesn't believe that tax hikes will solve the problem.

showing us the scene of the fatal pedestrian accident involving the amtrak train, you see from chopper 6, it halted all amtrak service along clifton avenue, we are hearing that amtrak service between wilmington is resuming with significant delays. we have not gotten the all clear on the regional line and all service remains halted. if you normally travel septa through delaware county you may be better off on the trolley as the investigation continues here on sharon hill, we see delays on the patco trains, the eastbound trains over the ben franklin bridge because of the ongoing construction and if you are heading into new jersey from buck county you are experiencing the wet ride, by the scudder falls bridge and there is not

double scan live work have one thunderstorm in the area. we are still awaiting the front, it's a few hours away, west of harrisburg and pottsville. seven lightning strikes flair up in ewing and pennington as well. heavy rain and seven lightning strikes in the last 15 minutes, between scotts road and highway 31 east of yardley. a quick half inch to inch of rain as this passes through. give it 15 to 20 minutes and it will be out of our viewing area and everyone will be quiet. as we look at the number in philadelphia today, 90 degrees it did hit the normal 92 and the sunset as late as it is going to get around here at 8:33 p.m. 75 in trenton and cooled off

because of the rain and 82 and 82 in millville. we look at the numbers at the shore and the numbers kick in and it keeps southern delaware dry overnight, it sun should rip apart the marine air, the stable air off the water. there is the line in central pennsylvania we are watching near state college as it pushes from the west to the east, right now some of these to the northern end of the line are severe and moving towards the north and we get scraped by the southern end, it's scattered and still quiet at 7:00 this evening, can you see it breaking up a little bit around 10:00 in the western suburbs, around midnight in philadelphia, some torrential rain and lightning strikes and two hours later it rips apart as it hits the marine layer and much of new jersey and delaware should remain quiet tonight and by 10:00 tomorrow morning the sunshine is returning after morning clouds.

watch the scattered downpours and thunderstorms later on this evening, a quick 1 to 2 inches of rain where they do hit with the possibility of flash flooding and even an isolated gusty wind or two. as we look at the day planner for tomorrow, morning clouds and turning muggy with temperatures at 82 at 11:00 and tomorrow afternoon temperatures top off at 88 degrees with returning sun and a little bit lower humidity but the humidity starts to wipe on out of here come friday at 85 degrees and the weekend looking nice, saturday and sunday and sunshine and clouds with highs in the mid-80s and the humidity starts to creep in on monday and 88 and the first day of july, tuesday into the second day, 90 degrees and high humidity with afternoon thunderstorms come late tuesday. be on guard for later on, in the state of pennsylvania, it's hit or miss and not everyone will see them guys. still ahead on "action news,"
