cell phone and took off in his mercedes. no arrests have been made. new this morning, an armed thief held up a 7-eleven in the shell fish town neighborhood along girard avenue shortly before 1:30. the clerk told police the suspect walked in with a gun and demanded money and ran off with an an unknown amount of cash. nobody was physically hurt. philadelphia police released surveillance video of a woman's is great struggle with an attacker. police hope to get the man off the street. katherine scott has the story. >> reporter: while it was going on, the attacker was trying to conceal his identity. you see from time to time flashes of his face. police hope somebody recognizes him by the way he walks or his build. the violent attack was caught on

surveillance video. let's go to the video. it's from june are 15th at 10:00 p.m. you can seem the victim walk from her car into the apartment building. he lunges at her in the lobby he has a t-shirt wrapped around his head to hide his identity there's a struggle. she told "action news" how he threatened to kill her. we are not identifying the victim, but here's what she said to say. he said give me the money, i'll blow your head, i got family, i got problems, i need the money. >> he then drags her out to her car threatening to shoot her demanding more money than she had. he makes her call somebody for more money in her car he took the cash and the friend and kicked the victim out of the car and ditched the victim a few blocks away.

trent eps surrendered to police last week. police are looking for three other people believed to be involved in the beating. the battle of same-sex marriage may head back to the supreme court. a federal appeals court in denver ruled that states must allow gay couples to mary. utah attorney general plans to challenge the decision with the full appeals court or supreme court. thunderstorms produced flash floods in western pennsylvania. roads in state college were more like rushing rivers. officials say three quarters of an inch of rain fell in ten minutes. >> a philadelphia man is accused of leaving two dozen ducks inside a hot van with no food or water. witnesses called spca after hearing the birds inside the van

during a concert in boston. it happened last night inside the td garden arena. ambulances lined up to take concert goers to the hospital. most of the people had a problem with dehydration and drugs and alcohol. a vermont man took a cover off in attempting to kill his girlfriend saying the two were attacked by a bear. he faces first degree attempted murder charges he attacked his girlfriend after she told him she was breaking up with him. he set fire to the cabin she was in and pushed her off a 70-foot cliff. he said he set the fire to scare off the bear and that the woman jumped off the cliff to avoid the bear. she is in the hospital with injuries. >> the united states faces off

domestic violence suspect. the shooting unfolded yesterday morning in magnolia, delaware. after a brief chase, the suspect dennis hicks got out of his car and fired on corporal mccann who was hit twice and returned fire. mccann is in serious, but stable condition, hicks died from his injuries. a former philadelphia police officer is heading to prison for interfering with a federal drug investigation. the one time veteran officer was convicted last december. prosecutors say he tipped off his maf brother about a -- half brother about a surveillance camera monitoring a drug trafficking organization of which police say his brother was a member. >> what's driving up the costs of fruits and veggies. >> an intruder is
