pike at granite run mall. watch out for around overnight crash cleaning up at germantown pike at ridge pike. >> we're learning details shot last night by philadelphia police. officers stopped the car in olney around 9:30. police say the driver pulled a gun on them so they opened fire. the 55-year-old suspect allegedly threw the gun on the sidewalk. he was taken to einstein with multiple gunshot wounds. else in critical condition and expected to survive. >> also in the suspect's possession was a clear bag of a green-weed-like substance that appears to be marijuana. the suspect had a handgun that he pointed at police and may have fired at police, but had a bag of alleged marijuana. >> no police officers were hurt. philadelphia police need your help in identifying a

suspect who attacked a woman in her own apartment buildings. investigators have released the attack in oxford circle. katherine scott joins us live outside northeast detectives mayfair. >> reporter: eva the victim has not been able to sleep, she is thinking about moving because she doesn't feel safe in the apartment any more. police are hoping someone recognizes the man in the surveillance video you're about to see. let's go to the surveillance video june 15th at 10:00 p.m. in that video you see the victim walking from her car into the oxford circle apartment buildings located on the roosevelt boulevard. the video shows him following her in before he lunges at her. he threatened to kill her. drationdz her back out -- dramatics her back out to the car -- drags her back out to the car and demands more money. she calls for a friend, he took the money from the friend and

the latest on thursday's weather and matt pellman is watching the roads good morning to both of you. >> reporter: good morning we've been in and out of the clouds this morning, half-hour ago we had bright sunshine. that's how the early morning will go. i want to show you satellite and radar, you can see why this is kind of happening. we had the storms that moved off the coastline. behind it a fair amount of clouds covering the region. we're in and out of the clouds early on. but this afternoon a good amount of sunshine moving in there. warm and muggy 72 in philadelphia. 70 in allentown, 870 in millville. we're off to a warm start. we'll be in the upper 70s boy 9:00 a.m. noon, 83. sunshine filling in. 3:00 p.m., 87 degrees. by 6:00 p.m., 86 coming down from your high of 88. anytime from 3 to 7:00 p.m. we'll see a spotty shower through the area. so that's the only thing we're watching for later this afternoon. i'll have the shore forecast tor

you. it's going to be more humid along the coast than in the city. >> reporter: wow, so kind of a sticky start this morning for sure, karen rogers and some sticky situations on the roadways be as well and climbing travel times along the schuylkill expressway, but so far three extra minutes in each direction on the travel times. this is the westbound delay formle by city avenue it's heavy toward gladwyn. we're watching a number of problems including a crash on the pennsylvania turnpike approaching the valley forge interchange. if you're heading toward granite run mall there's a downed poll on baltimore pike. there's an overturned vehicle on the northbound side of 259. watch out for restrictions there. they found structural deficiencies at the white horse road bridge over the cooper

river and the patco tracks, stick with somerdale road to get around that new closure. >> and we gin right now with developing news, philadelphia police are investigating a violent home invasion if strawberry mansion. they say two men stormed the home on west berk street. the intruders hit a man in the head and tied him up and stole his flat screen tv and cell phone and took off in his mercedes. no arrests have been made. an armed thief held up a 7-eleven in the fishtown neighborhood along girard avenue shortly before 1:30. the clerk said the suspect walked in a with a gun and demanded money and ran off with an unknown amount of cash. nobody was hurt. philadelphia police released surveillance video of a woman's is great struggle with her attacker. got problems, i need the money. >> reporter: so after that struggle he drags her back out to the car, threatens to shoot her, demanded more money than she had on her, so he makes her call somebody and drives around the buildings in her car waiting tore that friend to show up. he took the cash from the friend kick the victim out of the car nearby and ditch the car a few blocks away. this was a violent attack, anyone with information call northeast detectives, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> members of the center city community came together last night in light of the recent rape at 19th and spruce. philadelphia city council johnson organized the public safety meeting. the meeting was full on information on how to organize a neighborhood watch and tips an how to protect yourself. nickie driver lives a week from where the assault happened.

>> welcome back we've got more breaking news from northeast philadelphia, the 8800 block of bradford street. they are dealing not with one problem, but two problems, a water main break and sinkhole. you can see the water bubbling out from the middle of the street, the side of the street. it's coming from everywhere, that poor person who owns that minivan you can see the car is tipped into the sinkhole. we saw a neighbor a short while ago looking out over the street

with a look on his face that said oh, boy. if that's your car, that's how you would feel. that water continues to flow. this is the 8800 block of bradford street where they are dealing with a sinkhole and water main break. other cars may be compromised of course we'll keep an eye on this and bring you more as it comes into us. >> that's causing problems in that area on the roads, obviously. >> reporter: certainly not anything you want to wake up to any morning of the week. we have that water main breakto and sinkhole near rhawn and close to win chester. stay on the boulevard to get around that local blockage. i-95 here's the scene live at cottman in the work zone. the southbound delay not too bad. northbound we had glass on the road they have cleared that out. all lanes reopened. farther south on i-95 you're

hitting 15 to 18 miles per hour from bridge to girard. coming. schuylkill expressway no construction to worry about, but they will return during the midday along city and bala avenue. on the schuylkill expressway 14 miles per hour west by belmont. there's a pair of issues on the pennsylvania turnpike one is a crash on it is westbound side approaching valley forge taking out the left lane. the left lane is blocked eastbound past norristown because of debris in the roadways. either way you're going they are doing swerving to get around the problems. on the chester county, lancaster county borders you're swerving to get around the buggies near route 10. off the delaware memorial bridge we have an overturned vehicle accident on 295. i-95 from wilmington, slowing travel times each way because of

the of the 495 closure. >> the search for the missing malaysian flight is shifting further south into the southern indian ocean. in an early morning news conference, australian officials said the under water search will search south of the existing crash site. the plane vanished back in march with 239 people on board. we learned that the officials believe the plane was flying on autopilot. a vermont attempted to cover up killing his girlfriend by saying the two were attacked by a bear. police say he attacked 44-year-old girlfriend after she told him she was breaking up with him. investigators say he was on drugs and drugged his girlfriend. set fire to the cabin and pushed her off the cliff.
