>> it's exciting. it's time now for the accuweather forecast. >> adam joseph is outside with a look at current conditions. >> and good news here as well. we have sunshine upstairs and lowering humidity and a breath of fresh air coming in tonight. the numbers now, 85? philadelphia and 88 in washington and all the heat is being suppressed to the south, binghamton and pittsburgh and buffalo, in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees, the dew points are a measure of the moisture in the atmosphere. we were in the low 70s, and it dropped down to 60 in philadelphia and upper 50s in buffalo and low 60s in pittsburgh and binghamton and the lower dew points that means drier air is moving in and it will feel oh so comfortable by tomorrow. the dew points, 60 to 65, a slight humidity in the atmosphere and it will drop back into the 50s as we get into tomorrow afternoon and

especially here on saturday. satellite and radar, all is the downpours and thunderstorms from last night in the wee hours in the morning, well off into nova scotia. and cumulous clouds are bubbling up and as you head out this evening, 82 at 7:00 and 80 at 8:00 and once the sunsets, the temperature goes into the upper 70s with plenty of stars upstairs. we'll talk about the beautiful end of the week and also the weekend. we have to think about that, it's only a couple of days away coming up in just a little bit. >> always thinking about the weekend. >> we saw damage across the region, that is after the powerful storms that moved through overnight. the action cam found a huge tree branch that landed on three cars in center city. you can see where the branch snapped off making for a rough morning for people parked at

the road. the sinkhole opened up, and neighbors couldn't reach him. >> we just called him and gave him a message. he has the house keys and not the car keys, crews were able to shut off the water at 7:15 this morning but there was a hole left in the middle of the street and a lot to be done. the street dried out under the hot sun but the damage remains. crews were able to haul the minivan out of the hole easing the vehicle over the pavement. more equipment was brought in to complete repairs, 50 to 60 homes lost water but before they did, some took advantage pretty sure where this was all headed. >> my sister came and said there is a river outside, get a shower while you have a chance. a 14-year-old boy was killed this morning in gloucester county after he was hit by a car

while riding his bike. chopper 6 hd was over the accidents after it happened at 7:00 this morning. police say that the victim when across the road and into the path of a car, the driver stopped and a passer by who was a registered nurse stopped to help before the medics could get him to the hospital. the boy was not wearing a helmet and died later. police are calling it a mass casualty event. more than 70 concert goers in boston, most of them in their 20s got suddenly and violently ill. at least 22 people were hospitalized. 50 others were treated on the scene, officials blame dehydration and alcohol and the popular club drug, molly, that doctors say chemically cooks the

brain over time. people were take and away screaming and their arms flailing. >> one kid was trying to fight back and it took four cops to take him down. >> there were a dozen people on the wall and emts were going to them and taking them out on stretchers. >> 70 people were taken out and thankfully none of them were life-threatening. in the meantime d.j. aviche saying he hopes nobody is hurt. a lot of people talking about this today. >> to business now, stocks finished lower today because of worries about interest rates, the dow fell 20 points and the nasdaq almost flat and the s&p sliding 2 points today. ikea is raising its minimum wage for workers at its u.s. stores, they are tying their wages to

to the side and everything is on the side, all three lanes back in business but the traffic in them is at a crawl. coming down from broad street to this point at ridge avenue. meantime, a crash in chester county on 82 manor road. and a crash in pennsauken along union avenue by 130, that cleared out but there is ongoing construction on the ben franklin bridge heading into camden and in camden county, a big new problem started today. they have closed the bridge by the patco, lyndonwald station, shut down indefinitely, they found problems with the bridge, and summerdale road will get you there. and we see 15 min delays for new jersey bound lanes. lets grab the ipad and do the

that one. >> it was pretty darn cute. time now for accuweather and today we look at what is going on down the shore this weekend. first another check of the accuweather forecast, and for that we turn to adam joseph. >> all is quiet after last night when the downpours and thunderstorms passed through and the humidity dropped a little bit today compared to yesterday. 85 in philadelphia and 83 in allentown and wilmington 85 degrees, the poconos 75 degrees and right along the shore, yesterday we were in the 70s because of a sea breeze but today we have the northwesterly winds so the sea breeze did not kick in, it's in the lower 80s with the ocean dropping 6 degrees from yesterday down to 68. as we look at the wind speeds out of the northwesterly direction and 9 in allentown and 10 inville millville and clocking in -- also a northwesterly wind mean a drier wind with respect to how it

feels outside, as we look outside at 8:00 last night, that is within the line of thunderstorms pass through the northwestern suburbs and they approach i-95, at midnight last night, as it bumped into the marine air we spoke of, with the sea breeze stabilizing the atmosphere. but by 4:00 a.m., pretty much quiet weather across the region for that morning commute. with that rain last night. philadelphia picked up .75 inch and so far this year we have a surplus of over 8 inches in philadelphia. allentown 7 inches over the normal this year. and wilmington 7 inch as above normal. trenton and atlantic city, less but between 1 and 2 inches above normal. in the deep south, they were in a drought for years and no longer, they also have plenty of

rain and the drought is pushed to the desert southwest, we have seven states, texas, california and 11 more states dealing with a drought. we have a surplus and they have a deficit. a few clouds around tomorrow, but in the afternoon once again a decent amount of sun and in the mountains to the north and west there could be a spotty shower during the afternoon but everyone is fairly quiet here to round out the week on friday. a lot of stars upstairs and less humid as well. allentown 69 and 66 in millville and dover 68 degrees, we won't have the oppressive heat and humidity overnight and 83 sun and clouds and breezy and nice at the shore and in the poconos there could be a spotty shower also. as we look at your four day at 4:00, and lower humidity on saturday, a spectacular day of

>> a teenager has now been arrested for stabbing his neighbors allegedly inside of their olney home. 18-year-old anthony walters is accused of stabbing his female neighbor and her male roommate. the victim were surprised by walters when he was caught taking keys from the home to steal her vehicle. police were called to the scene in fishtown on the unit block of west girard avenue, they said that the suspect drew a gun and then demanded money and then fled. he is still on the loose right now. an attempted -- led to a -- in rhawnhurst. on the 1800 block of soly avenue. police say that someone went into the laundry room and tried to steal the drier or tamper

pennsylvania turnpike with speeds in the 20s, not helped out by a crash in norristown, all lanes are open and you are dealing with slowing as you pass the scene. a big old gaper delay and in lower providence, watch out for a building fire on oakland avenue. typical slowing on the schuylkill and 95, on the southbound side it's all off to the side, a couple of accidents on the shoulders along 295, one southbound past 70 giving us speeds in the teens and one northbound on the black horse pike is on the shoulder, and as we tell you by the lyndonwald station, we are without the white horse road bridge, indefinitely. people are using summer dale road or stay on gibbsboro road as an alternate. >> thank you matt. some young musicians showed

avalon and stone harbor. the sea breeze could not kick in. as we look at dew points yesterday, many of us were in the 70s, that was the oppressive humidity that supplied the downpours but we dropped back into the middle 60s, not as muggy and the dew points are going back into the 40s come on saturday and 40s this late into the summer, and late into june, very rare and take advantage of the breath of fresh air that is coming in over the next 24 hours. satellite and radar, we have cumulous clouds bubbling up and way to the west north of pennsylvania turnpike, west of pittsburgh, that is where they stay this evening. as we look at the high pressure in new england, we are sitting pretty, friday into saturday and the wind is wrapping around that high off the water out of the east, a mixture of sun and clouds and temperatures in the 80s, butdful inland and beautiful if are you lucky
