matt o'donnell is off, eva pilgrim is joining us, we have a lot of news you did not see last night. a home is in ruins after a driver loses control and rips part of an entire side off the house. >> firefighters in chester county fall victim to vandals who leave a number of cars marred. another atlantic city casino falling victim to the employees. employees may learn today they will soon be out of a job. >> we are following breaking news, we have brand new video in just in of rescuers on i-95 trying to free the trapped driver. the driver is on the way to the hospital, we're working to find out how he is doing. the crash on the southbound side of i-95 near basin road in newport. the southbound lanes are shut down as the crews worked on the

driver, and they still shut down as he goes to the hospital. let's go over to matt pellman. >> reporter: the story is more and more complicated. the silver mercedes struck the truck after it was overturned. the driver of the mercedes doesn't see the truck and strikes the struck. that's complicates the situation. all traffic is being forced on the northbound side of 141. you're stuck in a parking lot as time ticks along and volume buildings stay with us on route 2 kirkwood highway. use route 4 take 13 to 273 run that to churchmans road. no word when the southbound lanes of i-95 will reopen. in avendale, there's two

tractor-trailer crashes police are hoping you around that. on the big picture a couple of other issues getting word of a crash at northern liberties, second and fairmont, 3 or 4 vehicles involved. we have an accident germantown avenue at broad street. things don't look too bad on the schuylkill expressway or i-95 in pennsylvania. how does it feel outside, karen rogers? >> reporter: it's feels great out here, doesn't look pretty, because we have a lot of clouds over philadelphia. it's a nice, cool breeze and lowering humidity. satellite and radar showing clouds in philadelphia and areas south and east. in the north you have breaks in the clouds. no worries this will push off the coast and we'll see sunshine push in. 71 degrees in philadelphia. feeling comfortable, 67 in allentown, 70 degrees right now in millville. you can see temperatures pretty mild as you look at the day

ahead by 9:00 a.m., 75. feeling good, by that point we should see sunshine mixing with clouds. noon, 81. partly sunny skies, 3:00 p.m., 84 that's the high for the day. we have a chance for a spotty shower 6:00 p.m. 78 degrees coming down from the high with a shower in one or two spots. the best chance for a shower is north and west. i have future tracker 6 standing by to show you what the afternoon will look like in just couple of minutes. >> a man was shot and killed inside a car in the nicetown section of philadelphia. the action cam on the scene 3700 block of germantown avenue around 2:00 a.m. two other people were inside the car at the time of the shooting they were not hurt. no arrests have been made. new on "action news," police are on the hunt for the man who sexually assaulted a woman in south jersey. camden county police released these pictures to "action news." police say the man pulled up to

the woman as she was walking along the 500 block of spruce street in camden. the woman said he forced her into the car and attacked her. if you see the car call police. >> happening today, thousands of casino workers in atlantic city are expected to be officially notified that the showboat hotel may close. annie mccormick joins us live with reaction. good morning, annie. >> reporter: caesars has not made the official announcement yet this is coming from local 54 who said they have had spoken to the casino telling them that the showboat will close in possibly 60 days. >> it's a shame, i think it's a nice casino. >> reporter: disappointment spread on the boardwalk as tourists learned that another casino plans to shut down, 2500 showboat employees will receive

noses today. the casino could close its doors in 60 days. the news comes weeks after the revel casino sent notices to 3200 of their employees. revel owners say if the casino doesn't get a buyer they will close august 18. caesars who operates four casinos, reported earlier this year during an earnings call that will also has too many casinos and need to close. showboat did post a profit of 2 million but it's down from the first quarter. >> my wife loves it here, hundreds of people will be out of work, i don't know if there's any chance to save these things. >> reporter: more than 100 if this goes through. the union president had this to say, caesars closing a casino that remains proffable with pose -- profitable with positive

earns is a criminal act committed on the people of atlantic city. revel announced a couple of weeks ago they are looking for a new buyer, if that doesn't happen they will have to close. that means this entire end of the boardwalk would be dark. reporting live in atlantic city, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> police in chester county are searching for the vandal who damaged several cars that belonged to firefighters. official say the vandalism happened in the north coventry fire company lot as firefighters were responding to a house fire early saturday morning. four vehicles were scratched and escaped with traffic cones and flower pots. another vehicle was broken into and items were stolen from inside. >> that hurts that we were volunteering our service and our stuff gets vandalized so save somebody's property and life and that's what we get when we come back. >> damage estimates are in the

thousands, no arrests have been made. >> reporter: 6:08. police believe a woman who beat another woman in salem, new jersey may be hiding in philadelphia where she has relatives. this attack was captured on cell phone video who stood around and watched the beating. harris is said to have wrongfully spread rumors about the attacker. the 2-year-old son is the only one trying to stop the attack. >> they don't understand i could have be dead right now, it would have been over nothing, mcdonalds isn't worth it, a guy isn't worth it. what a thing to do in front of a child. police urged the bail

scene. it looks now like they are starting to let a little bit of traffic getting by to the left. for so long they had all the southbound lanes shut down, matt pellman has been watching all this, he is going to give ups an update in just a moment both with what's going on with the traffic and how much of a backlog

on i-95 southbound chopper 6hd showing this overturned upsing trailer. traffic is shut down on i-95. let's check the situation with matt pellman who is monitoring it all morning. >> reporter: what has brown done for us? nothing good in delaware. the southbound lanes are blocked at 141 basin road exit 5b. let's explain what's going on with chopper 6hd. you're seeing traffic getting by, that's not i-95 traffic that's 295 traffic that's coming off the delaware memorial bridge and heading to 213. this is i-95 traffic at the bottom of the screen being forced off on to 141 northbound. all i-95 traffic coming out of the wilmington is being forced off the roadway and can not continue on toward christiana and newark. if you're heading south on i-95. you don't want to do that.

you're going to encounter a big backlog coming through wilmington. use route 2 kirkwood highway. route 4 or run 1 south to 273 to churnman's road or highway one to get around. we have another issue building volume i-95 in pennsylvania. speeds in the 20s. we have a crash in northern liberties at second and fairmont involving a couple of vehicles someone injured on the scene. you see a new crash on schuylkill expressway. looks like on the eastbound side by university avenue they've got the right lane shut down, you're looking at bumper to bumper traffic from the vine through university. this is our second morning without the white horse road bridge by the patco station in will i lindenwald all shut down because of the problem with the bridge. use somerdale road or stay to the east on gibbs boro road. >> a robber caught on camera attacking a liquor store clerk

in san jose, california the thief asked for a price of items when the clerk turned his back, the robber pelted him with the bottles. he had a garden hoe and you see him fight back. a customer broke up the fight and may have saved the clerk's life. a driver drove into a house sheering off a huge chunk of the wall in stanton delaware. the house has been ruled not safe to inhabit. the action cam was on the scene on lime stone road last night. police are trying to figure out why that driver lost control. >> a lehigh v dley.

>> welcome back chopper 16 live over i-95 southbound in delaware. you see that tractor-trailer, that ups truck on its side it's been that way since 4:15 a.m. keeping the southbound lanes of i-95 shut down. >> reporter: this is at 141, basin road, tam, you see the southbound traffic being forced off coming out of the wilmington. that traffic did you see getting by on the left side of the screen is 295 merging with i-95 southbound. if you're heading to southbound i-95 they will force you off at 141. stick with kirkwood hey -- highway and expect delays. we have a stopped ride from spring garden to university avenue. they have a stopped car slowing traffic. >> reporter: anybody want to tot

chopper 6hd is live over breaking news coming to us from i-95 the somebody lanes in delaware they have been shut down since 4:15. here's what happened. that ups truck turned over they spent a lot of time trying to get the driver out of the truck. as well we're told us a mercedes crashed into the back of the truck unable to see that it turned over in the morning darkness. that person having some degree of injury. since then we're seeing workers on the scene trying to deal with the people who were hurt. they are trying to get this thing righted and out of the way. until then it's a mess when it comes to traffic. let's go over to matt pellman he's got the latest on that, when he is done we'll check in with karen rogers when it comes to accuweather, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, guys this is an area that's especially clogged because of the 495 closure.

it's a parking lot through wilmington to newport where all southbound traffic is being forced off on to 141 northbound. that traffic that you see squeezing by on the left side of the roadway, that's 295 traffic coming twea from the delaware -- away from the delaware memorial bridge and edger inning into i-95 southbound -- and merging into i-95 southbound. route 12, kirkwood highway is a possible alternate. route 4. 13 to 273 and take that to church manslaughter -- churchmans road to route 1. we have a crash in northern liberties at second and fairmont that caused injuries. the schuylkill eastbound a solid line from montgomery to university. where another accident blocks the right lane. the platt bridge a vehicle broke down on the upside down

couple months and that could leave two thousand people without jobs. >> reporter: the announcement is coming from the union 54 who represent hotel restaurant and workers. 2500 employees will receive slips today saying they will close. to give you an idea how much of an impact this will on the boardwalk. showboat will close, revel could close in august if they don't get a buyer, that philippines this entire end of the boardwalk will go dark. atlantic city took another hit according to local 54, 2500 employees will receive notices today, showboat will close its doors in 60 days. the news comes weeks after the showboats next-door neighbor revel casino sent notices to # 200 of their -- 3200 of their employees. if they don't get a buyer their doors will close by august 18. >> people shared their disappointments when they heard

that the showboat would close their doors. >> they are great with the buffet and coupons and free comps. >> the place is beautiful inside. i'm shocked. it's beautiful, you go to trump, this has got some class, more than i thought. >> reporter: showboat's parents company caesars reported earlier this year that atlantic city has too many casinos and more need to close. showboat did post a profit this quarter of 2 million, but it's down from last year's first quarter. and the union president had this to say, caesars closing a casino which remains profitable with positive earnings is a criminal act committed 0 on the people of atlantic city. if showboat and revel close it will be the third casino since the atlanta club closed in

january. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> 6 people including two children were hurt in a nasty crash in new castle delaware, the accidents happened on basin road near university avenue around 9:00 p.m. for the explorer hit a motorcycle and toyota. the children ages 5 and 10 were critically hurt. the other people were treated for none life threatening injuries. don tollefson will be arraigned in a bucks county courtroom. he is accused of stealing $250,000. he solicited the money from 150 people for what actually turned out to be fake travel packages to sporting events. his lawyer said he suffers from addiction and working on recovery. >> the 7 sixers are welcoming their 2014 draft choices.

both drivers are injured. we'll continue to watch this. matt has more on the traffic aspect. >> reporter: 2 1/2 hours and counting now we're without the southbound lanes. that's enough time to really back up along i-95 southbound. we're seeing that chopper 6hd southbound lanes are completely blocked. everybody forced off on to 141 northbound. look at the parking lot. womaned -- we would be dealing with this traffic nay because of 491 closed. let's talk about the alternates, you can get by on i-95, use route 2, kirkwood highway. route 4. take 13 down to 273 down to church mans road or highway 1 back to i-95 southbound. another overturned truck on the garden state parkway southbound

near pomona taking out the left lane, you can squeeze by that. delco, roads are dry, maybe people are tired we're running into things, flipping over. 452 is closed. use 322 instead. on the platt bridge we have this broken down vehicle a couple of other vehicles swerved to miss it and they ran into each other. heading eastbound toward 26th left lane squeezing by coming away from the airport. huge delays on the schuylkill expressway from city to university avenue one lane is blocked because of another crash. >> we have more breaking news from the northern liberties section of philadelphia. the action cam was on the scene second and fairmont avenue where a car went out of control and slammed into four other cars. the accident happened about 5:00 a.m. this morning, one person is in the hospital in stable condition. the driver of the car that hit the other vehicles is being questioned by police. crews in eastern arizona
