we begin with breaking news tonight. police ais a child was killed during a freak accident at the rita's water ice in the brewerytown section of philadelphia. nora muchanic is live on west girard avenue with the details. >> reporter: walter a freak accident claimed the life of the young girl. police are gathering details. from what we know a big metal security girl detached from the buildings and fell on top of the girl. she was taken to hahnemann where she was pronounced dead a half-hour later. a fundraiser was going for a is a roar and a fraternity. the metal gate hit the child. frat members held it up while they performed cpr. the child is identified as

house fire in north philadelphia. the fire killed gwendolyn col field. when they found her they found him in her arms. >> t.j.'s mom and the others got out safely, they are receiving help from the american red cross. two people survived when their small plane went down on the delaware river. the pilot landed the aircraft on the water by pennsville new jersey, after takeoff from wilmington airport. after touching down the pilot and the passenger stood on the wings until they were lifted to safety. they were flown to ford state

11:00 a.m. sending bricks and debris on to the sidewalk. l&i officials were called out to determine what caused the collapse. police in philadelphia are investigating a deadly shooting in frankford. a man was shot along the 4200 block of penn street. the victim was shot once in the arm and pronounced at the scene. no word on a motive or suspect in the case. the man suspected of master masterminded of killing four men in benghazi just pleaded guilty. ahmed abu khatallah was taken to the nation's capital where he wore a black track seat and wore headphones. he accused of plotting the attack on compound in libya in 2012. a federal judge ordered him to remain behind bars, but it is

as we get into sunday, high pressure stays in control for the last weekend in june. the high today in philadelphia, a little bit above average, we climbed to 87 degrees. normal for this time of year is 86. the record 97 set back in 1963. as we look at the numbers across the delaware and lehigh valleys dleerchg most locations -- this evening, most locations are in the 80s. the exception along the coast, an onshore wind will be the trend for the weekend. temperatures along the coast getting cooler in the afternoon hours. dover, 80. same thing in millville, the poconos 74. philadelphia, 86. trenton, 84. here's satellite and radar, it's dry and quiet from new england all the way down across mid atlantic region, you see the showers and storms across the ohio valley. these showers will stay suppressed for the rest of the night and the weekend. here's the reason why.
