17-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was hit by a car on roosevelt boulevard. it happened while he was riding his bike in northeast philadelphia at 11:30. police say the teenager was riding in the northbound lays of boulevard when he was hit by a blue car is he intersection. the teen was rushed to children's hospital with a serious head injury. a little girl is dead her life taken when a gate fell on top of her at a rita's water ice. nora muchanic went digging for and go to more information about that gate. >> as i looked up it was falling. >> allison brady was across the street on girard avenue when the large gate at rita's water ice let go. >> it was a big bang, some people thought it was gunshots. >> we saw it laying on the ground, but didn't realize there was a baby under it until the

the area on the cool side. it's holding all the moisture at bay. all this starts to shift toward the northeast and we start to get into a summer-like pattern. the wider view shows an area of low pressure here, there's the cold front right there. him this here is the warm front. it's in between the two. this air mass in here it's sticky coming out of the gulf. that's the heat and humidity that will take up shop over the next seferdle, the surface -- several days. the surface maps look like this. the humidity starts to creep back up as the warm front punches through. each and every day the humidity gets worse and the heat gets hotter. it will feel like summer as we move along through tuesday and wednesday. wednesday some forecast models have us at 96 degrees, that will be the warmest day so far.

>> two people survived this close call the pilot landed on a mashy area on the delaware river in pennsville new jersey. he reported problems with the plane after takeoff from wilmington airport. the passenger and the pilot stood on the wings until a delaware state police chopper arrived to lift them to safety. they are okay. nissan is being investigated by the federal government for unintended acceleration in cars.

children along the mexican border is gathering steam. dallas county judge clay jenkins promises that dallas is stepping up and offering temporary housing for two thousand children caught coming to texas without parents. >> we'll take them from chain links and closures and put them in compassion care. >> reporter: over 50,000 children have swept over the southern border since october. federal law said the children must be transferred to the custody of the health and human services department within 72 hours after their arrests for illegally crossing the border and then placed with families until a hearing in immigration court. but the wave of children has overwhelmed the system and now children remain for weeks in makeshift detention sisters. on saturday, house minority leader nancy policy joined a growing -- nancy pelosi joined a

seven-day forecast. taking a look down in wilmington. a quiet morning we have fairly comfortable humidity levels and pleasant temperatures. it's an easy morning if you're taking an early stroll you'll not see any weather issues. temperatures in the 60s throughout the area, there are couple of exceptions, millville 55. poconos 57. reading, 66. dover are 62 degrees. these are the numbers we'll be watching over the next several days. the first part of the story, is the humidity, this measures the amount of moisture in the air. tomorrow afternoon dewpoints will be close to 60 degrees, when we scale that today it will be comfortable tomorrow we'll call it slightly humid that's monday, tuesday, dewpoints are hovering in the upper 60s, some locations are actually in the 70s when we scale that,

tuesday is no longer slightly, tuesday is very humid. we get into wednesday, the numbers continue to climb they get all the way up into 70. and 70s on our scale feels like are a steam bath. it will turn more humid and with the humidity comes the heat. wednesday has the potential to be the hottest day of the year so far, forecast 95 or 96 degrees. satellite and radar, quiet warm front hovering to our west, that punches through during the day tomorrow, the humidity there stretching through the great lake states today. we'll stay on the pleasant side on the good side of that area, of that warm front today it's tomorrow when this thing starts to punch through. it's slightly humid tomorrow, this increases everyday it's worse as the south wind strengthens and we see a small

area off the coast of the carolinas like a bermuda high. the big story by far is the return of the heat and humidity. this afternoon in the mountains looks nice, combines of sun and clouds, 80 degrees is the forecasted high. it will be a nice, gentle breeze out of the south at 5 to 10 miles per hour. jersey shore, temperature-wise nice and comfortable as the sea breeze kicks in. highs in the mid to upper 70s. officially 78 degrees, mostly sunny skies. it will be a very high uv index, so you'll need to apply the sunscreen. sun and clouds, 88 degrees, this is comfortable, low humidity levels, winds out of the south at 5 to 10 miles per hour. overnight a few clouds around turning slightly humid, 63 degrees, outlying suburbs, 66 for center city. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, 88 today, 88 tomorrow, here come the 90s, remember you need three consecutive days of 90 degrees or higher for heat wave.
