3:00 p.m. that's the high. 83 by 6:00 p.m. the uv index is running high, sunscreen is important today. when i come back, we have higher heat and humidity in the next couple of days and chance of drenching thunderstorms all in the seven day. >> developing at the jersey shore, the search for the 14-year-old boy who was swept away by rip currents in ocean city. a teen and a friend were walking along a 9th street jetty at 7:00 p.m. an hour after the lifeguards left the beach. several people rushed to help him. the rammed response unit was able to rescue the 14 people. people along the beach watched the rescue effort with a mixture of hope and dread. >> i have children my son is a

lifeguard 14 years, i know this is really a harrowing situation, i pray they find him. >> the 14-year-old boy remains missing. lifeguards local and state police firefighters and coast guard vessel and helicopter searched until dark. the search will resume at sunrise. the search is on for answers after a child was killed outside of a rita's water ice shop. 3-year-old wynter larkin was killed when a heavy security gate broke off from the building landing on top of her. now investigators are trying to figure out how it happened. vernon odem has the details. >> reporter: this child 3-year-old winter larken is a poverty child for -- poster child for a senseless tragedy.
