nydia han joins us. >> nice to see you and let's get more from meteorologist, david murphy. good morning, david. >> good morning. it is muggy out there as you step outside. satellite shows you cloud cover mixing with clear spaces. like yesterday we'll probably start out with that mix. there's rain out to the west. almost looks like it's falling apart but as this comes towards the east maybe a stray thunderstorm today, a much better chance of that tomorrow. temperatures this morning in the 70's just about everywhere. 73 in philadelphia, 72 in allentown, 73 in wilmington, 71 in sea isle city. 70 degrees up in trenton and as you head outside the door this morning, you'll see that partly cloudy mix. it will feel muggy to you and we are going to climb into the mid 70's by 8 o'clock. and as we go through the day, it's going to be a hot one. a little bit hotter than yesterday in fact and probably a bit more humid. 79 degrees by 9 o'clock. that's pretty toasty early. 87 by noon. and by 3 o'clock, we'll be at 91 degrees with a high of 92 probably around 4:00 today before we fall back to 88 degrees by 6 o'clock. humid and a stray thunderstorm possible but most of you

probably don't see that. in case you missed it late last night at 11:00 on "action news" this cluster of precipitation down south has now been declared the first tropical depression of the season. looks like it has a chance of becoming tropical storm arthur later today before it makes a turn up into the florida northern eastern coast and then up the coast. will it have an impact on our weather toward the end of the week? we'll have the latest matt from accuweather on that coming up. >> david thank you. a a quick dip in a creek ended in tragedy for a teen. the 15-year-old boy was swimming with friends when he was swept under water and drowned. katherine scott is live in juniata park with a warning from police just days before the holiday weekend. katherine. >> reporter: that's right, matt, police are calling this an accidental drowning. they say they're not sure what caused this 15 year old boy to drown and they're urging people not to swim in area creeks and rivers as it gets hot out because there are a lost hidden hazards.

police were called here around 5:45 last this evening on fisher's lane off rom mona for reports of a boy swimming in. creek here, tacony creek in juniata t police spoke to teenagers, witnesses who said the boy was swimming, he went under and did not resurface. first responders jumped into the creek. police and fire department paramedics were able to pull his body out but he was completely unconscious. medics worked on him but he was pronounced dead just before 6:15 last evening and place say dangers lurk in these creeks for swimmers. >> there's a lot of rocks, there's a lot of debris, there's a lot of trash, there's tree trunks that have fallen down and you can't see because swat so murky so you're in this water and you can hit your head, you can get caught on something. >> reporter: and philadelphia police are actually out in pennypack park yesterday talking to kids about not swimming in the creek there when the weather gets hot because tragedies

like this happen all too often when the weather gets warm in philadelphia. live in juniata, katherine scott, channel 6 "action news." >> the coast guard no longer searching for a 14-year-old swim here went missing in ocean city, new jersey. family members identified the boy to "action news" as corinthian hammond and hunting park. authorities say a rip current swept hammond and others off a jetty near ninth street sunday night when lifeguards were off duty. the coast guard spent hours scouring the water by boat and by air but called off the search yesterday afternoon. new this morning an overnight shooting sends one person to the hospital in new jersey. the action cam was there as police searched the scene for evidence in bridgeton cumberland county. detectives have focused their attention outside a home at south and fremont avenues. it's still unclear who shot the victim or why. the investigation continues. >> the south jersey woman accused of beating a former coworker has turned herself in to police. 25-year-old latia harris of salem faces aggravated assault charges and is in jail on

$35,000 bail. police say harris beat 27 year old katherine ferrera in front of ferrera's two-year-old son. the beating was captured on video that spread on the internet. the video shows a group people simply standing around and watching. the only pacific northwest who tries to help the victim is her toddler. >> somebody should have stopped it. somebody should have called the cops and i feel sorry for the kid to see something like that. >> police have decided not to charge the witnesses who stood by and did nothing. they claim harris carried out the beating because she believed ferrera was spreading rumors that harris was having a romantic relationship with her supervisor at mcdonald's. >> now to a developing story. air strikes in the middle east. a swift response to three jewish teenagers found dead including an american. "action news" reporter erin o'hearn is live in the satellite center with more details. erin. >> reporter: nydia, israel in no uncertain terms has

blamed hamas for the disappearances and deaths of these three teens and the israeli air force has carried out air strikes on more than terror targets along the gaza strip and there are signs that a significant escalation of israeli operations in gaza may be under way. the three bodies were found northwest of hebron. an ambulance and military escort brought the bodies of the three israeli teens back to their homes last night. the three boys were hiking and then kidnapped 18 days ago. last night in tel aviv israelis held a candlelight vigil. the teens' death has sparked international outrage and israel has vowed to make hamas pay for the killing. >> we have a very responsible and serious leadership in jerusalem and they will make the decisions that he have to make in order to send a very strong message to hamas that this action is unacceptable and to take the action that they deem necessary in order to protect and defend our population. your government would do the same thing, any government would do the same thing. >> reporter: now the fbi is

also involved in this investigation because one of the teens was an israeli-american citizen. he had moved to israel from brooklyn when he was 16 years old. i'm erin o'hearn live in the sat center back to you. >> time for your first business on tuesday morning. another day another round of recalls at general motors due to faulty ignition switches. the automaker is calling back 7.6 million vehicles from the 1997 to 2014 model years. gm has recalled a total of 29 million vehicles this year. along those same lines, chrysler also announced that it, too, is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles due to the same ignition switch problem. the recall includes the chrysler town and country, dodge journeys and grand caravans from 2007 to 2009. stocks were mixed on wall street on monday and stock futures are in positive territory right now. the waffle house has called for a boycott of belgian waif

of starts today. we've got heat and humidity building. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows that you say for the tuesday morning commute we are dry and as we take a look outside we are looking at a similar morning to yesterday where there may be a period where it's kind of cloudy but on the other hand we're going to have that mix of clouds and sun building in fairly quickly and then it's just ratcheting up the heat a little bit and dialing up that humidity a bit as well. temperature right now is 73 degrees. your dewpoint is at 65. the mid 60's in a dewpoint does indicate muggy air and i think you'll feel that in most neighborhoods as you step outside this morning. winds are out of the south at 7 miles per hour. not all that strong. satellite and radar showing you that clouds mixing with some breaks so we'll get that clouds and sun mick early and you can now see some showers that are beginning to move into the west. there is the possibility that we get a pop-up thunderstorm as we move through the day but most of you likely are just dealing with a lot and humid one. 76 degrees by 8 o'clock. by 11:00, we're up into the mid 80's and then by 2 o'clock, 90 -- 92 is your high probably around 4 o'clock this afternoon and by 5:00 we'll be

dipping back to about 90 degrees. so, a lot and somewhat sticky one through the afternoon. high temperatures probably reach about 90 all the way up in the lee and out toward reading and trenton as well. 89 in millville. down the shore a little bit of a break next to that cooler ocean water, the low 80's today but even there you'll probably feel a tad humid. then we get into tomorrow and by noon there is the chance of a couple of showers around and as we move later into the afternoon we are expecting at least a few thunderstorms that could produce drenching downpours and some gusty winds. not everybody will necessarily see this tomorrow but tomorrow would be the day to really keep your eyes on the skies in the afternoon and evening for some potential drenching thunderstorms. it looks like that activity kind of dies away. thursday we've got the likelihood of a couple of more drenching storms possible. and then all eyes are down to the south. tropical depression one was declared late last night it. probably becomes tropical storm harder arthur and it will meander around southern

florida and tomorrow push up towards jacksonville. after that it looks like the storm will be on the move up the east coast. right now it has 35 miles per hour winds. it only has to reach 39 to become tropical storm arthur. we think that will happen later today. the latest scenario and this is consistent from the models yesterday is by the time it gets up to our neck of the woods by the fourth of july it's so far off the coast that the main issue for us would be rip currents down the shore, perhaps a windy day on the fourth of july and there is the chance of some showers but mainly down by the shore. even if the majority of the region were to get some of that there's a decent possibility that it's mainly in the morning and that things dry out. now this could obviously change. we're going to keep our eyes on it. most of our spaghetti plot models though are in line with some idea. the storm stays off the coast we get a little brush of rain but rip currents friday and maybe saturday would be the issue. we'll keep our eyes on arthur as it develops later today and then makes that move north. your exclusive accuweather 7-day, hot and humid today, 92

is your high. a stray thunderstorm is possible but most of you are dry. tomorrow humid with afternoon showers and some storms. some of these could be strong gusty and drenching. 95 is wednesday's high. it now looks like we'll ease back to 88 degrees with warm and muggy conditions on thursday but again some drenching storms are possible and we're going to call friday the fourth of july still unsettled because we do have that storm off the coast and there is the chance of a shower or a thunderstorm. the best case scenario would that that that's mainly in the morning and that the afternoon is dry for your picnics and the evening is dry for fireworks. i think that's a pretty good shot especially away from the shore but something we'll keep watching. >> thanks, david. security cameras record add bold burglar in texas taking food from a fridge and helping himself to a laptop. all while the homeowners were obviously home. the homeowners have eight cameras mounted throughout their house. the video shows the guy creeping around first outside, then inside the house. the brazen bandit walked into the bedroom and grabbed a watch and a wallet as one

homeowner slept. he has not been caught. >> happening today, the new fiscal year begins in the state of new jersey with governor chris christie already signing the new budget plan. the package totals $32.5 billion in spending. before putting his name on the budget christie vetoed two tax hooks and can it back on the public employee pensions fund. it will cost you more if you're caught talking texting or driver in new jersey beginning today. fines start at $200 and go forty one there. a third time offense will cost at least $600 and could also result in the loss of your license for 90 days and points. an amend the law bans all use of hand held devices while behind the wheel even while waiting at a traffic light. >> just don't do it. nothing is that and important, right. 4:47 now t it has happened fifth time. a woman woken up by a strange man staring at her but wait until you hear how the woman in this case reacted. >> and something you don't see

coast so from atlanta up to logan international. be aware you could see delays related to that. same basic issue out in the midwest so minneapolis saint paul, also chicago airports and detroit metro could see delays related to inclement weather and finally if you're flying to missouri, saint louis, kansas city some of the more moderate airports do have some thundershowers moving through there so look out for that. by the way out to the west, the rest of the country looking good if you're flying later today. that's your travel forecast. nydia back to you. >> thanks matt. the upper darby creeper is at it again but this time he really picked the wrong house. for the fifth time since april a woman was woken up by a strange man standing in her bedroom. and police say she chased him out with a baseball bat. this most recent incident happened friday night on the 1700 block of quentin road. police leave the suspects lives in the neighborhood and enters home through open doors. officers have been handing out

fliers to make the community aware of the suspect. philadelphia police are hoping someone recognizes the man in this surveillance video. they say he walked into the 1352 lost on south street during lunchtime broke into several apartments and stole jewelry and cash. he walked out about an hour later. the theft happened 10 days ago. if you recognize the thief you're asked to call authorities. >> the u.s. supreme court has ruled that certain companies that have religious objections do not have to pay for women's contraception under the affordable care act. in a five to four decision, the court ruled that forcing such companies to pay for contraception which they object to violates their religious freedom. the oklahoma based hobby lobby arts and crafts company is one of 50 companies that have sued over covering contraception. the white house sales the ruling creates health risks for women. >> it is now 4:53. still ahead in the next half release a new clue in their search for a sexual assault suspect in camden. >> the former queen of daytime
