perfect day. there wasn't a cloud in the sky, the sky was so blue. let's get you outside, there's the view in cape may. we have a moderate risk of rip currents that's the only issue the jersey shore will be facing this afternoon. otherwise, it's a picture-perfect day armed the delaware valley. we'll see sunshine and a few high, thin clouds, warmer, but low in the humidity department, once again it will feel nice. 66 degrees in philadelphia. trenton, 59. dover, 63. millville a little bit cooler, a little crisp this morning, 56. sea isle ten better at 66. lancaster, 57 degrees. under like yesterday we have high, thin clouds stretching across the keystone state. you'll see a fair amount of sun, a lot of rays and blue sky, as well. a comfortable day coming up. accuweather says mostly sunny skies, pleasant and warmer,

86 degrees is your forecasted high. it all goes downhill from there. heat returns we'll see temperatures easily in the mid 90s starting tomorrow. tuesday, feeling closer to 100 degrees, there might be a heat advisory issued for tuesday. with the heat and humidity comes the threat of gusty thunderstorms. some of them could be severe. it's comfortable this morning, but next week the heat and humidity makes a comeback with a vengeance. i'll have more in just a bit. >> now to the four young lives lost. this morning a southwest community is coming together to remember them. the children didn't make it out of the inferno that almost consumed a city block. we're learning more about the victims always flames jumped home to home. annie mccormick begins our coverage of the scene the 6500 block of gestner street.

>> reporter: family members broke down near the scene of the deadly three-alarm blaze that killed four children. the intense flames engulfed four homes trapping brothers, 1-month-old and 4-year-old, and twin girls. the father remembered his girls who loved sunday school and music. >> my little girls loved to pray and read and sing. he said the girl's mother was inside at the time of the fire and jumped to safety. family members say they tried to get back in. >> the fire was everywhere. >> reporter: mayor nutter toured the damage and spoke to the victims including people displaced. while outside officials boarded up the homes and neighbors from

the tight in knit lie about her- liberiaian community dropped off balloons. >> my only hope is that their pain was not long and they did not feel the intensity of the fire. >> reporter: the cause of the fire remains a mystery this morning. investigators think it began on a porch, even though a firehouse was around the corner, firefighters arrived quickly, the flames spread fast. win minutes, the fire jumped to a dozen homes. it took firefighters hours to get the blaze under control. the fire commissioner was visible upset when discussing the fire fight. >> upon -- it was a tough fire

fight. we had visited this house just last year and installed two smoke alarms, two brand new smoke alarms, so in addition the smoke alarms, we need everyone to plan and practice an escape plan. the members of that fire station are heart broken because they lost four children in this community they are heart broken. this is what we do for a living, we pride ourselves on trying to save lives. >> reporter: the red cross is helping dozens of people impacted by the fire. if you want to help there's a couple of ways to do that, you can drop off clothing at christ international baptist church at 2210 south 65th street. they will not accept financial donations. if you want to give money, give

to the red cross. our 6 news app and 6abc.com has been updating the story since it broke get the app for free through the apple and google app stores. >> developing right now the search is on for a serial burglar in south jersey. police say someone broke into four businesses in edgewater park overnight. first one happened on route 130 around 1:40. officers responded to the break-ins at the store next-door. police will be checking surveillance cameras in the area. police are looking for the driver and the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run at the jersey shore. 16-year-old was struck while crossing the street. he was hit on the 200 block of rio grande boulevard in

time to time. nothing threatening. as we get into monday, a lot of sunshine, a few high, thin clouds, maybe a shower threat well west of the city, i'm talking reading, allentown, all the way out there. the bulk of the area will stay dry tomorrow, but a couple of locations could see a spotty shower late in the day. the poconos mostly sunny, 78 degrees. nice in the mountains. ocean temperature 62, starting to rebound, but still a little cool. don't forget to apply the sunscreen. uv index is high. on the beach southwesterly winds will pick up 10 to 20 miles per hour. waves 2 to 3 feet. still dealing with rip currents. yesterday was a high risk, today it's a moderate risk. uv index is very high. it's a 10 on a scale of 11.

a 56-year-old driver was fleeing another crash when he drove across the median and hit a 56-year-old man. neither victim was wearing a seat belt and pronounced dead at the hospital. the outrage is growing in the middle east after the alleged beating of a palestinian american teenager at the hands of israeli police. some of the pictures are graphic. the parents said this video shows their son being brutally beaten by israeli policemen. this is how it looks after the incident. a spokesman said the footage is edited. but the teenagers parents are calling it attempted murder. >> i was infuriated. i was horrified. else my son. number one you see your son in

it was breezy yesterday, winds are generally out of the north/northwest. today they are shifting out of the southwest. that's the beginning of the early signs of a pattern change, which i will show you in a second. that will bring in the heat and humidity during next week. enjoy the day today, because it will be changing. once the sun begins to climb the winds will pick up. we'll see gusts anywhere from 15 to 20 miles per hour throughout the afternoon, but certainly not an overall windy day. we have high, thin clouds working across the state of pennsylvania posing no threat. overall pattern looks nice and pleasant. just like we talked about yesterday. this pocket of warm air is over the northeast that brought a picture-perfect weekend to the delaware valley.
