philadelphia's could be's creek section. a day in fairmount park nearly turned tragic when a huge tree fell on an suv with a family inside. "action news" reporter kenneth moton is more on what happened. kenneth. >> walter, luckily the west philadelphia father and three children were able to walk away from this one without any injuries. take a look at this right now. . this is frightening moments that happened to them on the other side of could be's creek parkway thomas avenue. inside the park we can see the front of the suv. the rest is under that tree. >> it came down fast right at the base. >> tree just fell on the car you know what i mean smash. >> under all that folliage and heavy limbs you can barely see the yukon on could be's creek. he and his kids were leaving the park when things turned scary. >> i looked back to see if they were okay they were crying and all that. i hopped outlet them out. >> it was a crack noise and then

of their homes 6500 block of gesner street. four children lost their lives in the blaze and authorities are trying to figure out how to started. amy buckman has the latest. >> reporter: [ crying ] lillian rodriguez lives in the 6500 block of gesner street. she was in north carolina when fire swept through eight homes on her block killing four young children. she was relieved to find her cat alive and water damage at her house. still upset about the deaths of one month old taj jacqu and patrick sanyeha and twins marie and maria whoa what. >> i knew the kids they played with my dog. >> solomon johnson lost all her things. they think a fire cracker was tossed and landed on a couch on his pour. >> everything i worked for for ten years gone. >> not only those directed

affected by the fire came today but others came as well. those that wanted to help. >> christ international baptist church on the corner of the devastated block opened a basement as collection and sorting center for donations of clothing, toys and household items that might help at infected families. >> we have old klonls, toys, books, all from our kids. things that i hope people can use. >> my back was hurting and my knees were hurting i said i'm going to get up and do something good and i think the pain will go away. >> pastor napoleon told his congregation that kind of generosity is god's way of helping us deal with the tragedy. >> in the midst of tragedy we see god's spiriting moving to respond. >> red cross is helping the families. in southwest philadelphia i'm amy buckman, "channel 6 action news."" >> a fire fightner trenton is recovering from heat exhaust don't after battling a 2 alarm blaze this morning just before 7

a.m. in the 400 block of grand street. authorities say the fire started in one home and spread to two others. it took crews 40 noypts gape the upper happened. no one inside the home was injured and the injured fire fighter is expecteded to fully recover. no word how it started. a delaware man is fashion serious charges after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. and then fired on law enforce. ait's a story our delaware newsroom has been following this weekend. this is 29-year-old steven trivet authorities received a 911 call from his girlfriend in harrington yesterday. he allegedly tried to choke her and he broke free. when troopers arrived he ran into nearby woods and allegedly shot as officers coming his way. trivet disappeared for four hours and resurfaced at his girlfriend's house where he was arrested. >> a tractor-trailer driver missed a turn and slammed into a light pole in wilmington, delaware this afternoon. he made a right turn instead of left while following 495 detour. the mess jammed traffic on
