reporting 10 people displaced after homes collapsed in cobbs creek. and chopper 6 over the scene on spruce street. and one home came down pulling a second with it and a third home was damaged. luckily no one was injured during the incident and walter perez talks with one of the home openers coming up at 6:00. and from our delaware news room, an undercover police vehicle hit by gunfire in wilmington. it happened just before 1:00 this afternoon when the officer saw a similar verify buick driving fast in the area of west 35th and north market street. the officer followed the buick and that's when the driver fired at the officer's car several times. the passenger window of the police car was struck. the buick then crashed into a parked car and the three people inside ran off. two were arrested by police, the

third managed to get away. the drowning death of a philadelphia police officer prompted the ocean city beach patrol to extend the hours. the beaches at 8th, 9th and 10th street from 10k a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day. and it will include the rapid response team. the change in the wake of the death of a child that drown on june 29th swimming at the 9th street beach when life guards were no longer on patrol. and turning to the forecast, the humidity returned. it's been slowly creeping back all day. with the threat of thunderstorms, we head outside to adam joseph with the details from accuweather. >> big change from the weekend, monica. when the temperatures were in the 80s, low humidity. now monday comes around and the heat and humidity is back as you mentioned. looking at the numbers in philadelphia, 83 saturday, 86 yesterday. and today so far 92 degrees.

we were below normal all weekend and now above normal. 89 in the lehigh valley and trenton. 88 in reading. and at the shore with the wind coming off of the water only in the mid and upper 70s. but the dewpoints, slightly humid. don't have open pressive humidity like last week. dewpoints in the low to middle 60s. last week in the 70s. and it looks like the dewpoints will remain below the 70-degree mark even tomorrow as we have a strong wind from the southwest helping to mix and dry the air out in the afternoon. and a front lifting north and active evening, albany from boston with severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings. all of the weather at least for this evening remaining off to the north. so the evening planner looking pretty good despite it is a little warm and uncomfortable. 88 at 7:00, 86 at 8:00, 84 at

jersey have to wait longer this year for the crop to be ready. farmers stay the harsh winter is delaying the peaches and causing a lot of problems. and we have the latest on this. nora? >> we're here at the corn stop farm stand here on 206 and the big sellers here are every year are corn, tomatoes and peaches. the juicy jersey peaches are a little late this year and you can blame it on the winter. >> we love the new jersey peaches. they are juicy and sweet. and my husband loves them on cereal. >> and eagerly awaiting the harvest of peaches, but have to wait a little longer. >> it is just the nature of the beast. >> farmers say this winter's cold it delayed it about ten days. >> the coolness in the spring

>> all right time for accuweather at the big board. adam joseph is here, feeling a little sticky under the collar. >> we are cooking around the region, especially inland. and cape may a live look on sky 6. and a lot of folks on the beach. you see a few there packing it up for the day, heading on out. the sea pretty choppy, some whitecaps with a strong wind. cooler at the shore, temperatures only in the upper 70s with 77 at sea isle city, and the ocean temperature 65. and going inland and most locations in the upper 80s to low 90s. not only do we have the heat, but we have the very strong wind gusts from the south-southwest. 26 miles per hour in the last hour in wilmington. 29 in dover. a gust to 37 in philadelphia. mid 20s in the lehigh valley. 25 miles per hour at the atlantic city airport. with the stronger wind it helps some with heat and humid, it dries out the air.

mixing in the atmosphere, pull down the drier air so you don't have the stagnant, oppressive humidity. that's some good news. and the satellite and radar, a thunderstorm in the pennsylvania-new york border north of the poconos. even tornado warnings now just outside of boston with some of the storms as they are passing to our north. we look at the how-it-feels factor so to speak, the dewpoints that are jumping again between 65 and 70 tomorrow. over the weekend it was in the 40s and the 50s. once you get into that range you can say yep, when i step outside it is certainly feeling humid. with that up tick in humidity and the air temperatures warmer, the heat index in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees. and late in the day we'll be watching a front. most of the day is dry, but say about the late afternoon, evening hours watching storms that will try to fire up near the lehigh valley and the poconos. and any storms that pass by

tomorrow even and tonight are mainly north and west of philadelphia where a risk of severe weather is tomorrow from reading, allentown to the poconos with damaging wind gusts and hail. but rather skadered in the region, but where they hit they will hit hard. and the 5day at five forecast, hot again and even thunderstorm far to the north and west. we will see if they try to make it into the delaware valley. and a lingering showering, but back to 80s here. humid wednesday and humidity drops thursday/friday. gorgeous in the mid 80s. over the weekend the humidity is back saturday sun and clouds and 87 and possible pop-up in the afternoon. i will have the seven-day in the next half-hour. >> thanks. and much more to come in the neck half however "action news at 5:00." a berks county family who loved
