a man shot by police this afternoon in mount laurel. it happened at 2:00 in the parking lot of the aloft hotel. and the burlington county officials releasing few details, bust we know the shooting occurred as the new jersey state police and mount laurel police tried to arrest the man. the suspect had a graze wound and was taken to cooper university hospital. it came without warning in west philadelphia. one row house collapsed bringing down a second dwelling as well shortly before noon on spruce street. and the police and fire personnel on the scene in minutes followed quickly by the red cross, now caring for members of four families. and walter perez has the full story. >> taking you right to the scene here. neighbors say it was loud and frightening and happened quickly. two homes crumbles in the 6000

block of spruce street in cobbs creek. and investigators work to figure out how it happened, the good news, no one was inside at the time. investigators say they are still not sure why, but one of these row homes simply collapsed taking the other one with it, and leaving a third home at risk for crumbling. the force of the collapse as you can see was enough to push the porch out over the front stoop. and the councilwoman on the scene a sort time later saying there is only so much that can be done in an old city with old buildings. >> and the council thought they allocated more dollars, but obviously we still have so many problems in an aging city in many places. >> as soon as the emergency crews determined no one was inside they started looking for the champion show hounds. and her son called her at work safk the home collapsed and dogs were inside. and christine arrived on scene in a panic. >> the dogs are my kids, they are my life. my kids are grown and families

of their own this is what i have left. >> and duncan found running around the neighbors and the crews pulled bre from the bubble. they were dehydrated but okay. and ten people from four families are displaced and the councilwoman says the result of the investigation cannot come soon enough. >> we do not know if there was rumbling or there was an indication before it that there was trouble. >> and officials have licensing and inspections say no history of complaints or inspections from either property. under the law the clean-up is the responsibility of the property owners. if lni comes to do the clean-up the homeowners will get the bill, so they are hoping they are properly insured. from our delaware news room tonight, wilmington police identified the woman shot and killed by a spray bullet. 43 year old crystal brown caught

in the middle of gunfire as she exited the adams market near 7th and adams street before 10:00 last night. the police say fighting led up to the shooting but brown was not involved in the altercation. she was rushed to christiana hospital where she died from her injuries. police have not made any arrests. anybody with information about the shooting is urged to call 302-576-3646. a 13-year-old girl was shot in the back while sleeping in her bed overnight. a single bullet came through the wall of her house in the unit block of hathaway drive in sicklerville, new jersey, the results of gunfire outside. the girl is in stable condition tonight. live at the scene of the shooting is "action news" reporter, sarah bloomquist. sarah, what's the latest here? >> investigators spent the entire day here in the neighborhood trying to track down any new witnesses,

collecting shell cases. they say that late last night a gunbattle broke out right here on the street where i'm standing, haywood lane. at least one stray bullet in the home behind me -- >> and she was crying like i got shot, i got shot. >> a hole in the drywall marks the spot where a bullet came flying through the hudson home before 12:45 this morning. 15 year old toni had gone in to check on her 13 year old sister who was asleep on the lower half of the bunk bed. toni heard men yelling outside and rapid gunfire. >> and i heard gun shots and got down. and i didn't pay attention until i heard tiya scream. and she was crawling towards us, bleeding. >> we was shot in the lower back. leaving a spray bullet ricochetted off the windshield of the neighbor's car. and the bullet went into the home and struck the teenager as she lay in bed.

the younger sisters, ages 7 and 11, and the mother and family friend were in the house at the time. >> it was chaotic at the time that everything was helping. hearing the kids, trying to make sure that everybody tried to stay calm and trying to go through the 911 call. >> johnson applied pressure to tiya's gunshot wound as they waited for the paramedics to arrive. >> and saying she was shot. and she was crying saying she was going to die. and i said you are not going to die. >> a 56-year-old woman across the street cut by broken glass when at least one bullet entered her bedroom she was treated at the scene by paramedics. they collected evidence looking to identify the shooters. tiya's family hoping for a full recovery. >> the surgery went well. internal damage but she will pull through it. >> and tiya in the 8th grade

next fall. her mother says she is very active, likes to dance and run. she is expected to remain in the hospital for at least a week undergoing additional medical treatment. live in sicklerville, new jersey i'm sarah bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you, sarah. this is the way it looked early saturday as fire savaged this southwest neighborhood. claiming the lives of four children leaving the 6500 block in utter despair. today the mother of two little girls lost in the blaze came to the christ international baptist church. people from all over are bringing food and clothes for the families burned out of their homes. live at the scene of the tragedy is john rawlins. john, amid all of the grief, apparently controversial as well. >> that is right. it has been reported that some in the neighborhood claimed they thought the firefighters were slow in responding saturday morning. the fire commissioner disputed

children targeted in an unusual crime. two men stealing an air conditioner from the pediatric center. driving off in a white and silver-colored vehicle. if you recognize the men you are urged to call the number on your screen. a montgomery county pool closed tonight because of vandals. somebody shattered glass inside and outside of the township swimming pool. it happened sometime late saturday or early sunday morning. officials shutdown the pool while they work to clean up the damage. it will remain closed at least until tomorrow. tuition for the upcoming academic year at the university of delaware is going up, but it is the smallest increase in three decades. tuition and mandatory fees will go up by 1.9% for in-state undergraduates and 2.54% for

out-of-state students. with the addition of room and board the total expense $23900 for interstate and 42,250 for out of state students. the philadelphia zoo on wheels always means loads of fun, but it can mean something even more. and even at the shore could be uncomfortable 80s to low 90s. and thunder storm threat. and the delaware valley not in a light risk for severe weather. and tomorrow can't mean a renegade storm can pass through. and 88 in the lehigh valley 91 in philadelphia down from the high today of 93 degrees. millville 88 and a strong whipped -- wind out of the south, nice at the shore. and double scan live showing severe weather along the pennsylvania and new york border. all that moving north and east. not in our direction. and as we go towards boston we have two supercells this afternoon that have been pushing through with multiple tornado warnings in the suburbs of boston. a lot of lightning with the storms and we watch the front as it sinks to the south.

again, it shouldn't bring much in the way of severe weather for us this week. as we look at the summer sizzle 94 tomorrow, feeling in the upper 90s for much of us. and the front as it pulls into central p.a. late tomorrow evening is the best opportunity for thunderstorms. and pushes through almost stalls wednesday bringing humidity, some sunshine and a few scattered showers and thunderstorms. but it will bring the temperature back down to 89. future tracker at 4:00 tomorrow afternoon most of us just hazy and hot. but you watch for the possibility of some of the thunder storms north and west and some could pass through the suburbs of philadelphia. and most of delaware looking drive even during the even. at the shore water temperature 65 degrees. at 11:00, 88. 3:00, the gusty breeze kicks in bringing it the heat down a little bit. the exclusive accuweather forecast shows it is hot and
