to the west and it has produced severe weather and tornado warnings, pushing to the east-northeast and we'll watch that line later on this evening, we can expect most of the action to pass through between 7:00 and 11:00. the strong of the right now looks to be through our pennsylvania counties north and west of i-95 and the main threat is damaging winds as the line progresses through and this is coming after a hot, humid day, 94 in philadelphia, and 93 in wilmington and at the shore the sea breeze has kicked in with temperatures in the mid-70s. when we come back we'll talk about the timing of that storm specifically on future tracker 6 and what follows in the full accuweather forecast. >> breaking right now, city leaders are about to address the controversy over the weekend fire that killed four children. community leaders are urging calm one day after grief gave way to anger on the streets of southwest philadelphia. the big story on "action news"

is the continuing call for answers over one some say is a slow response to a deadly fire on saturday. john rawlins live now in spring garden. we expect an update any minute now. >> any minute now we should hear from the fire commissioner for the third time. it's not clear what he will be saying, whether it will be further clarification or the 911 calls that were made or get a timeline of exactly which units were called in and when they arrived and when they went to work. it's a hot button issue and the subject of protest. how fast does the fire department respond to saturday morning's deadly fire, that brought protesters out to the street last night. the radio dispatch for what was thought to be a rubbish fire. >> and the first fire truck,

the first engine and ladder. if you look at the color code, ladder four is right there, engine 40 station. and they came out of their station and turned right there at the corner. they were actually on a call, upland street, if you look at that, they made themselves available as soon as they realized they had a response in their district and they responded to that call. and made one minute after the ladder got on location. engine 68, the engine that was dispatched to this assignment because pipeline 40 was already on a call came from 52nd and woodby, you see the response where they came down, 52nd street and how they got to the

call. also, 7 came from the same section, and they responded down 52nd street and came down woodland avenue to get to the call. at the bottom of that, the timelines that shows how long it took them to get there. and everybody will be provided a copy of that handout. >> so, lets talk about the response and the call. 2: 2:4458 seconds, they got the first call, and dispatch was aided. 32 seconds after there was pay verbal dispatch for rubbish. 25 seconds after that, there was

a second 911 call stating that there were four houses on fire. 21 seconded later. a member from ladder 4 for engine 40 station caught fire communications via the land line in that station and said that the box should be struck out, there appeared to be a couple of houses on fire, so 21 seconded after that dispatch, a member of that station requested for a box assignment. which encompassed three additional ladders and two chiefs. 56 seconds later, two chiefs were dispatched by the compute aided dispatch system. and 4 seconded after that, the verbal dispatch for that assignment was made. ladder 4 had already started to respond to this incident before the actual box assignment was struck out and by then

requesting a box assignment assured we got additional resources on scene quickly. 27 seconds after that, ladder 4 arrives on scene. 39 seconds after that, ladder 4 gives a report. three, two story dwellings in the middle of the row, houses fully evolved strike out the box and all hands were to go in service and ladders to prepare for rescue. 1:05 after that, pipeline 40 were available. they were already on an automobile fire, and reported they were availableable to respond to the incident. 35 seconds later, pipeline 40 arrives on scene. so as you can see they got there quickly from that auto fire. 50 seconds after that ladder 4

reported that four occupants were trapped. 2 seconds later ladder 6 arrives on scene. 20 secs after that, ladder 4 orderers and requests a second alarm and that gives us another five engines two ladders four chief and one deputy chief for this assignment. one medic and two special operation companies, 19 seconds later -- >> have you been listen to philadelphia fire commissioner derek sawyer's lay out his department's response to the deadly fire. the allegations from some residents in the vicinity is that the fire department did not responsibility quickly enough and did not get water on the fire quickly enough. derek sawyer responding the second by second response and firmly refutining what the mayo

who was out mowing the grass. >> he saw two skydivers fall to the ground, their parachute was not deployed. >> in were flying out of nearby pennridge airport. they jumped out of this plane by skydive philadelphia. one is a seasoned instructor from hill town and the other is a first time jumper from philadelphia, they apparently had a problem with their primary and backup par chutds, normally they land on the airport grounds but they landed in the school yard a mile away. the school principal says they were conscious when they ran to help. >> they were moaning and they were somewhat conscious. you could see there was some trauma there. >> one had a bone protruding from his ankle and the other

could mot move his legs. they were take and to temple university hospital and lehigh valley hospital. no word on their condition. they landed 20 feet in front of the custodian on his lawn mower. >> we did a shelter in place because we have summer school going on and fortunately the kids were not outside, we did a shelter inside so the kids would not see any of this. the perkasie police and the federal aviation administration are investigating the manager of skydive philadelphia says that any number of things could go on and it will be a while before they know exactly what happened. david henry, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. a new york city mother is in custody after police say she abandoned her baby on the new york city subway platform, the woman says she is homeless and can no longer take care of the little girl who is now safe

thanks to the tender care and patience of a complete stranger. >> surveillance video, shows 23-year-old fm dabs entering a subway turn style gate, pushing her baby in a red and white umbrella stroller and she boarded a train when it pulled into the station, a witness cities dab push the stroller outside of the doors and she never exits, she is gone and her helpless baby girl is left alone, abandoned at one of the busyiest stops. that witness says she waited with the baby for 20 minutes, hoping that her mother would come back for her. she brought the little girl to police who rushed her to the hospital. she is said to be doing okay with no apparent signs of

trauma. it shows dabs entering the subway stake earlier in the day alone. >> she abandoned the baby at columbus circle. >> dabs is charged with child abandonment, she told detectives she is from north carolina and came to new york. last week after the baby's father passed away, she can no longer take care of the little girl and thought she was leaving her in a public space but thanks for the stranger now we go live to matt pellman in the traffic center to see how we are looking out there. we are spotting showers in spots, like here on 422, a shower rolled through and left drops on the camera lens and the sun is returning to the oaks area. the westbound side of 422, still wet and slow from route 23 to

joseph is at the big board to fill us in. >> the main line of storms are in pennsylvania, near pittsburgh, it's sunny and hot and humid, we have one downpour in montgomery county pop up and one in buck county and that turned severe and continues until 5:00 this evening. for a severe thunderstorm warning, just to the north of doylestown and aiming towards new hope, and hunterdon county. it has 60 miles per hour and one-inch hail coming out of this storm. new hope 4:19, lambertville 4:21 and flemming ton 4:40 moving to the northeast at 30 miles per hour and 22 lightning strikes in the last 15 minutes. this mode is the hail core mode, as it was passing landsdale and

in between doylestown, it had the history of producing one-inch hail, just about 15 minutes ago south of doylestown it picks up 1-inch hail. it's weakening with this storm but still a severe storm packing some very powerful winds as it heads towards new hope. 96 right now in philadelphia, 97 in wilmington and 99 in millville and 94 in the lehigh valley, and it's breaking the heat with the shore and the sea breeze, feeling like the 70s, this is the main line, moving east of pittsburgh, it has a history of producing severe thunderstorm warnings because of very strong winds but also has some rotation with the storms with tornado warnings south of pittsburgh, as it approaches state college, you can see the amount of lightning strikes all the spikes coming out of the storm. we are looking at 453 lightning

strikes. it eners western lancaster county and hits the corridor at 9:00 tonight, but as the storm is pushed to 95 and east they begin to weaken as they head to new jersey and southern delaware because of the sea breeze, stabilizing the at atmosphere, you'll see a potent severe storm and it's in pennsylvania and it should weaken as it hits new jersey, in fact the storm prediction center agrees with that thinking, here is the line, anything north and west, we have a threat for the severe weather this evening and the red in northern parts and western parts of pennsylvania, a moderate risk with a tornado risk up there. not a tornado risk for us but it's something we'll follow, for the damaging winds and hail. from you heading to the union game, warm and muggy and watch for the storms coming from the west, you'll see the lightning if are you sitting in the stadium looking westbound and temperatures in the 80s. as we look at your four day at

you have the heat and humidity this time of year, a cold front is coming through to wipe the heat and humidity out. it gets loud and strong and severe later on this evening. it's way to the west and we have one thunderstorm way on the border of mercer county and also buck county and southern parts of hunterdon county where a severe thunderstorm remains in affect. the storm is around new hope, anywhere south and west of new hope, the storm has pushed through our region and a history of producing hail and very strong winds near 60 miles per hour. this is the storm now, 20 lightning strikes in 15 minutes ago, it's down to three and the storm is weakening through new hope. and lambertville and route 202, heavy rain right now, you hear the rumbles of thunder not producing hail anymore and the winds beginning to die down as it lifts to the north and east.

and it has a history of producing strong winds and from ann from buck county sent me this, you can see a couple of things, the top of this pine tree pushed down to the ground it was probably ripped off and all the water is on the side of the road with the torrential rain as the thunderstorm passed through. we are watching a potent line to the west moving away from pittsburgh and the central part of pennsylvania, 500 lightning strikes on average with this as it pushes to the east, we'll watch the line and the timing is from 7:00 and 11:00 tonight. as a solid line pushes through, the strong of the part of the line will be north and west of i-95 through our pennsylvania counties and the main threat is very strong winds as the line and cold front approach from the west. brian the good news as it pushes over i-95 in new jersey, the

lie. this is the peak of the heat. in order to back off the heat and humidity we have to get through a stormy evening, as we get to stormtracker 6 live double scan, in bucks and hundredor done county that has faded. it's hotd and hazy and humid everywhere, but we are awaiting a line of storms with a cold front to the west. 89 in trenton and 91 in allentown and 93 in dover and 94 is the high in philadelphia, again, with the very strong wind, churning up the ocean today. temperatures are only in the mid to upper 70s along the jersey shore and even the delaware beaches. as we look at satellite and radar, severe thunderstorm warnings are up. east of pittsburgh, approaching state college south of buffalo, a history of producing very damaging winds as the storms progress to the east.

right now there is not a severe thunderstorm watch for our area. the storm prediction area out of norman oklahoma, just sent out a mezo scale, the entire area is more than likely going to be issued for the next hour. as we look at future tracker, this is why, the line is knocking on the doorstep in the western serbs, it approaches the i-95 corridor at 9:00 this evening, any storms that approach from the west, wind is the main culprit with this, and it pushes off the coast by 11:00 and it's moving quickly and it clears out in the western suburbs, with this severe weather risk, downpours are on the moderate side, street flooding is low, and it's moving so fast it doesn't look like it's moving at this point. strong winds are the highest threat and for tornadoes it's at a low threat. any churning in the atmosphere

to churn the winds well to the west in the poconos, as we look at future tracker, the front is slowly progressing through, we start with sun and clouds and in the afternoon tomorrow the storm is lingering in southern new jersey, that is the best location tomorrow afternoon to see pop-up thunderstorms. 63 is the water temperature, a lot of clouds and hazy sunshine and a scattered downpour or thunderstorm in the afternoon, temperatures are warmer with a sea breeze, it doesn't look like it will kick in as we are in the mid-80s. warm with a scattered storm south of philadelphia tomorrow afternoon doesn't look anything like this evening could be at 89 degrees, sun and clouds, lower humidity come thursday and 86, still nice on friday of 87. humidity comes up on saturday, with the philadelphia union in town and muggy as well. it turns humid again, with a pop-up thunderstorm again at 88.
