200 windham way near radnor elementary school. this there are two injuries including a firefighter. lets go live to john rawlins, what can you tell us? >> we got word about the firefighter jim, the other injury is the man that owns the house, this is extensive fire damage to a large stone home, the man that owns the home and who actually built the home, was working on a truck, something of a hop hobby of his, and that ignited the fire when he spilled gasoline. the fire rapidly spread into the rest of the house and as you can see it's justs burning extensively and continues to flair up from time to time. we spoke with neighbors that arrived on the scene shortly after the first police officer. >> i saw the homeowner on the side of the road and said truck inside of the driveway was

blowing up. >> burning and blowing up. >> he was on the side of the road and slightly burnt but conscious and talking. >> the truck, the truck lit up and had burn above it in the garage area, and then the smoke started to fill the house, the chimneys started to smoke and i took a look around the back and the roof had caved in. a couple of trucks in the garage, and the house is ruined. >> well, the house has certainly received extensive damage, this is a tenacious fire going on for the better part of two hours, we understand that no one else was home at the time just the homeowner, and he was able to get out and talk to police, he seemed to be conscious and talking to officials at the time. it's a tough battle for

firefighters, heat seems to have been a factor for the firefighters, they have to rotate firefighters in and out of building quickly, the owner was reportedly burned and we don't have an official condition, he was transferred to a local hospital and according to a neighbor he appeared to be conscious and talking to authorities after he got here this afternoon. live in radnor township, john rawlins, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you john. >> the big cleanup is under way in the wake of last night's storms even as new storms threaten the area. and in some places there is a lot of cleanup to do. this is east mt. airy, where trees crushed cars and power poles snapped and brought down lines. wires came down on east 24th street near providence avenue in chester and this is the scene in

fieldsboro where a family lost a truck and lawn mower to an enormous tree. the utility crews are working feverishly restoring power to hundreds of thousands of customers. walter perez is standing by live in levittown buck county, but first lets go to adam joseph. what are the chances the more storms tonight. >> reporter: they are peppered through the region and they won't have the tremendous squall line but double scan live shows the area is quiet, and muggy right now, and one downpour in lancaster county and a severe storm north of lehigh county and that is where a strong warning remains in affect until 6:45 p.m., just to the north of easton, and this is bethlehem no longer in the warning where the storm is pushed to the north and east.

if we look at the storm on double scan live, in chapman, bethlehem, it's north of there moving to the east at 40 miles per hour and 52 lightning strikes and strong winds of 60 miles per hour, but hail is the main culprit with this storm. this is the hail mode, anywhere you see the purple up to portland, one inch in diameter tear, about the size of a quarter, this is drifting towards the poconos and monroe county, a severe thunderstorm watch is up until 10:00 for basically the entire area, the watch is there for when the storms develop they can turn severe and locally damages windses is the main culprit. we'll talk about a much calmer end of the week when we come back. >> thank you. lets go live to walter perez now in levittown, parts of buck county really got walloped last night, what have you seen there

today? >> well, jim, a lot of the same here, you can see on kingwood lane, this giant tree was uprooted by the powerful winds, crushing a car along the way and damaging another. you can't even see the other one. these were widespread, and the people that saw the rough ends of this system were not happy today. connie says she didn't realize her aboveground pool was crushed until this morning, she went out to get it ready for her grandchildren. >> i went out the side door to get it ready for the children and this is what i saw. >> and she was not alone, donna looked outside during the storm after hearing a loud crash, that noise was her car getting crushed by a massive branch that snapped.

the toll of lose that car is both financial and emotional. >> i just moved here two weeks ago my husband just passed away and i'm not feeling too good about this. >> bill wiggins and his family feel blessed because they only lost part of their roof to the windses. >> my neighbor was surveying his property and we saw the shingles and i realized that half of them were ours. >> and then the outages resulting from the tree, his roof doubled as a bowling alley last night. the power lines by his house were the pins. the branches broke off and rolled across the roof, while being downstairs, i could swear the roof blew off and ripped right off. >> back out live, we are still 7,000 customers without power. and some of them may have to wait a day or two to repair

her finger, they bit one man and he hit her. they took a television set and left one important piece of evidence behind. >> they had gloves on so it will be hard to get evidence but they left the gloves so hopefully we can get dna evidence. upper darby police have arrested the alleged bedroom intruder and five women are breathing a whole lot easier tonight, "action news" reporter david henry is live now. >> reporter: there were four break-ins that police know of, the first one was at this apartment here, the suspect is only charged with this one break-in and that is because the 16-year-old victim here is the only one that got a good look at him. >> she encountered him earlier in the day and she gave him his nickname. police have arrested 21-year-old

tyrell booker of yaden. he apparently followed his first alleged victim home after approaching her on the street. the girl's mother showed how he got into the girl's apartment by entering an unlocked side door. terrified women awoke to find a man standing by the bed, he was using the cell phone to make a video of another. police fear he was getting boulder and more fierce. >> we were scared that his braise andness was increasing and the potential for violence could be astronomical. the victim was the only one to get a good look at the suspect, she described him down to a gap in his front teeth and was able to pick booker out of a photo array. this two days after the first attack but let him go.

pennsylvania and as we slide to the south parts of lancaster county near lincoln, downpours here and no lightning strikes now with gusty winds not severe along 222, and that is it going on right now. until 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 tonight. these storms could pop and if they pop they could turn severe and it could be more than a misthan a hit around the region. we were at 93, 95 in the region, right before 90 we hit 89 and and you need three days to hit heat wave number two, so only one so far this year. trenton 84 muggy degrees and 86 in philadelphia and 84 in wilmington and rain temperatures have fallen back into the 70s and reading and the poconos, despite the 70s there because of the rain, it's still muggy, satd light and radar shows again we have the box, the yellow box
