live double scan showing you is there have been showers popping through. you can see at the airport, some of the showers have hit the airport, they are moving past at this point the ground a little bit wet and we have them on the terrace outside channel 6. obviously there's not a lot of rain, we have some of the cells pushing into salem county and cumberland county, new jersey, and up into southern montgomery and bucks county this is slowly pushing through to the north, no lightning in this, just some light nuisance showers. 74 in philadelphia. 76 in dover. notice how it's milder behind the line of rain and cooler where the rain has passed through. 73 in trenton. a fair amount of clouds out there, but we do expect clouds to give way to sun and clouds mix through most of the day. 75 by 9:00 a.m., 7 this afternoon it gets hot. 89 degrees by 3:00 p.m. a high of 90 and 86 by 6:00 p.m.

this afternoon there's the chance of the redevelopment of the showers and thunderstorms. some of these could bring drenching downpours. i think the best chance of this is north of philadelphia. some of this may drift into philadelphia later tonight. well have more on the strong storms coming in possibly on monday and tuesday, as well. >> a septa bus driver is recovering after being attacked. the driver of the route 54 bus was assaulted at 24th and lehigh avenue at 1:15 a.m. passengers were on board the bus at the time of the attack, but none were hurt. the driver refused to be taken to the hospital. police are looking for the driver of a white mercedes benz with pa tag also. tags. a fight break out on the

welsh road party an 21-year-old man was stabbed in the head and a girl was stabbed in the stomach, both are in critical condition. a man's body was found lying on the street in north philadelphia and police are trying to figure out who killed them. "action news" was on the scene as police began their investigation on the 3100 -- 63600 block of warnock street. there are no suspects in the shooting. in delaware, police are looking for a man who hit a man and left him to die on the street. police say the 49-year-old man was crossing the road when he was hit in the westbound lane. the victim is in critical condition. breaking news this hour, a police officer in jersey city

was shot and killed while responding to a burglary at a walgreens overnight. reporter tony yates joins us live from the scene with the details. >> reporter: eva, nydia, as you can see jersey city police officers are gathering jersey city medical in honor of their comrade melvin santiago who was shot in the head before he could get out of his cruiser. police were spodged to reports of -- responding to reports of a robbery. he jumped a security guard, he took the security guard's gun. two police officers arrived, he never got out of the car, the suspect immediately opened fire. other officers responded with fire, they killed the suspect.

talking about how oppressive it is. later in the afternoon and evening we'll be on the look out of thunderstorms in areas north and west of philadelphia. those could produce drenching downpours. between now and 5:00 p.m., it looks scattered. i think the daytime is nighttime later tonight. later tonight we see the potential for drenching downpours to move into the region. some of these could produce enough rain to perhaps create temporary flooding on roads, maybe gusty winds if question get thunderstorms overnight tonight okay. then it settles down and we get ready for the next day round. 90 in philadelphia. 89 in allentown, warm and toasty through most of the area. down the shore, 83 in atlantic city and cape may. it will be humid, sun and clouds, a little breezy, as well. occasionally a pop-up shower or thunderstorm. but, again most of that holding

philadelphia. one crawling up the delaware river around chester. this will continue to float off to the east and not be much of an issue over the next hour or two. out to the west there's more rain and that will not be an issue until later this afternoon and later tonight. there could thunderstorms involved in that. 77 in wilmington, 76 in allentown, 72 in sea isle city. as we go through the day, overall we're expecting a mixture of clouds and sun, it will be breezy at times and humid, also hot with a high of 90 degrees later on this afternoon and again, that storm tracker 6 live double scan showing you if you are seeing rain it's not going to last much longer. monday and tuesday we're looking at the potential for drenching downpour producing thunderstorms and maybe severe weather, too. i'll have that coming up in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. nydia? >> a philadelphia family was forced out of their home overnight after it it caught on

christie is placing part of the blame for the unrest in the middle east on president obama. the republican governor said obama has not spoken firmly and forcefully on israel's behalf. he made the remarks at the national governors' association meeting in tennessee. he said quote -- christy is openingly considering a run for the president in 2016. new this morning, the u.s. secretary of state and several from foreign ministers are adding their diplomatic muscle about iran. they are trying to figure out a permanent deal on the nuclear program. tehran insists its ambition are peaceful. but the world powers fears they plan to build nuclear weapons. retired cuban leader fidel

castro made a rare public appearance to greet vladimir putin. here at home, police in wilmington are looking for a gunman after a man was shot while sitting on some steps. it happened after midnight on the 1,000 block of west second street. police say the man was shot in the shoulder and the leg. he was rushed to christiana hospital for treatment, no word on his condition. philadelphia police are looking for a suspect after a man was stabbed inside a chinese takeout. it happened at broad and rockland street in the city's logan section. the man was stabbed in the chest and ear, no word on his condition, either. >> the teenager who was the only survivor of a deadly attack on her family's home is speaking out for the first time. 15-year-old cassidy stay was

greeted by hundreds and friends and neighbors for for a a memorial service for her family after a suspected murder shot and killed the rest of her family. she also hailed as a hero for quickly alerting police that haskill maisk heading to her -- may have been heading to her grandparents house. haskill is facing murder charges, police say he killed the family, because they wouldn't tell him where to find his ex-wife. a shooting happened yesterday afternoon and it led to a standoff with police. police say it started as a landlord ten tenant dispute. officers who responded to the

call say they came under fire and nobody was hurt. a woman accused of squatting in the home of a man with disabilities. he invited a woman to stay with him temporarily last month as a favor to a friend. the next day, she invited her boy friend to stay and invited her four adult children and apparently that's not all, the abuse came to a head when martinez said the quarter dumped bucket of urine on him. work could start tomorrow to float the ship wreck costa concordia so it could be towed for scrapping. the crews liners struck a reef when it came too close to an island in january 2012. it capsized killing 32 people. the ship's captain is being

>> for a second day, lightning is being blamed for killing a person in colorado park. four people were struck in rocky mountain national park. lightning killed a woman injuring seven others at the

park. meanwhile, that same storm brought wind, hail and flash flooding to colorado springs. david murphy has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. we'll have rain. >> reporter: monday and tuesday, nydia, we're looking at potentially heavy storms. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows mainly dry conditions, although as we go in tighter we have showers that try to inch their way across the state of new jersey, looks like southern bucks county may be picking up a little bit of that, but not too much longer, we have a single cell south of philadelphia, that will pop quickly through cherry hill and be out of here. as we head outside, we've clouds across the immediate region. there are sunny breaks, we've seen plenty of sunshine digging through the clouds down the shore this morning, although that may change a little bit later this morning. clouds stuck in place for now in philadelphia. weighing for the sun. 76 degrees in the city. 77 in wilmington. as you step outside it's a little bit more humid than yesterday. 72 in sea isle city, 76 in

monday, in the afternoon we'll be on the look out for showers and thunderstorms developing to the west of us, and it will come through during the afternoon and evening. in some places we could see strong, gusty winds. the storm prediction center has posted our area under a risk of severe storms that would mean anything that does form would have the chance of forming damaging winds, hail, downpours and frequent lightning. this is tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. humid today, 90, a couple of thunderstorms around, most of them holding off until nighttime. tomorrow, strong humid, a high of 91. depending on how quickly that cold front gets through, we could see part of the day hinder by gusty drenching thunderstorms. wednesday, it's probably by the shore. nice day, low humidity, low 80s. thursday looks nice, friday not bad. saturday another spotty thunderstorm around. >> typical jawl weather.

breaking news. a new jersey police officer was gunned down responding to a burglary. >> a brazen bandit beat up an armed security guard inside a store and took his weapon. he shot melvin assistanting go in the -- santiago in the head who was pronounced at the jersey industry million eye jersey city medical center. the officer is the first jersey city officer to be killed in the line of duty since 2009. >> a septa bus driver is recovering after being attacked overnight. the driver was assaulted near the intersection of lehigh avenue and 22nd street in north philadelphia.

passenger were on board the bus at the time of the attack, but no one as hurt. the driver refused to be taken to the hospital to be treated. police are looking for the driver of a white mercedes benz with p-a tags. a fight at a party led to two people being stabbed overnight. it happened on welsh road at northeast philadelphia. police say a 21-year-old man was stabbed in the head. an 18-year-old girl was stabbed in the stomach. both were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. so far police have made no arrests in the stabbing. a man's body was found lying on the street in north philadelphia, now, police are trying to figure out who killed him. "action news" was on the scene as police began their investigation here on the 3600 block of warnock street. the body was found at 3:00 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the head. so far police have to suspects for motives in the shooting. in delaware police are

looking for the driver who hit a man and left him to die in the street. it happened here on the 1100 block of west newport pike in newport, at 11:30 last night. police say the 49-year-old man was crossing the road when he was hit in the westbound lanes. the victim was rushed to christiana hospital in critical condition. two people in central pennsylvania face charges for throwing rocks from a highway overpass. one rock hit a car leaving a woman in critical condition. it happened thursday night on i-80 in union county. the victim and her family were traveling from ohio to new york city. one of the rock also hit a woman in the passenger -- one of the rocks hit a woman in the passenger seat. >> you never know what people are going to do sometimes. >> if something falls off, that's one thing, but someone throwing it at you, that's crazy. >> an 18-year-old and juvenile

river to mark the 70th birthday of the hungarian architecture professor who created the icon. it flowedded down the hudson with the help of a tugboat. the center in north jersey is celebrating the rubicks invention all weekend long. a woman got the shock of her life when she discovered that was causing the problems in her car. that right there is a huge snake. she was driving along in santa fe when her car stopped. a man pulled over to help, when he opened the hood he found the 20-pound python coiled up in the engine. the snake was just 7 feet long and half grown. animal experts say it probably slithered on to the engine trying to get warm.
