some beauty weather after what we dealt with in the middle of the week. i-95 southbound side we're stacked coming past the walt whitman bridge on down to broad street. it's late-running overnight construction, you can see the cones right here, they are funneling you down into one southbound lane, same with the northbound side by the walt whitman bridge. the northbound delay did not too bad. if you're coming south on i-95 i would bail out on the vine street expressway and run back to the platt bridge back to 95. on the plat they dropped the speed to 35 miles per hour permanently. down in delaware, big downloading the free 6abc news app here with the visit of president obama that will give us closures during the midday. this morning things look good on 95 as you get around the 495 continued closure. upper pits grove we're without route 40. harding highway, bridgeton pike

and pole tavern road they are investigating an overnight crash that injured someone. locally always alternates you can use route 611 or use 322 or route 39 through salem county. >> we begin with breaking news a husband and wife were found dead in a home in straw barry mansion section overnight. katherine scott is live at the scene along the 2500 block of north spangler street. katherine? >> reporter: matt, the victims have been identified as glad disand ruffus perry. their nephew is deputy streets commissioner, donald carlson. a number of family and friends are searching for answer trying to figured out what what happens are police. there are no obvious signs of trauma. the home is located in

strawberry mansion. before 1:00 a.m., police responded to the home for report of a person screaming it was their 39-year-old daughter who had just found 66-year-old glad dis-- gladys and ruffus unconscious. carbon monoxide has been ruled out. police say it's difficult to process the crime scene because it appears the residents were horders. donald carlson said his aunt was the oldest of 12. she was the matriarch of the family, so they are taking it hard. >> she was the person that everyone leaned on in the family, and again, they lived in this house for over 40 years. >> at this time there is no obvious cause of death. there are no obvious signs of trauma to either the 66-year-old female or the 79-year-old husband. although they were pronounced on

the scene, cause of death is unknown at this time. >> reporter: and the family last spoke to the couple yesterday and there was no sign that anything was wrongs the family is trying to figure out what happened here. the daughter came by last night. sometimes she stays here and she does have her own home, but she stops by from time to time, autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. live in strawberry mansion, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> we'll continue to follow it, thank you, katherine. we're following more breaking news from north jersey where a police officer was killed on duty. our sister station wabc reports a tractor-trailer rear ended an unmarked police car that the officer was in killing him. he was a five year veteran of the police force, "action news" is working to obtain video and more information on this

breaking story. wendell smallwood a standout football player from delaware is under arrest for witness intimidation. he is charged with trying to get a witness to change his story about a murder case. police say it was in order to protect his friend who was awaiting trial in the case. "action news" was there where the homicide took place, along 4th street in wilmington back in 2012. smallwood is about to enter his second year at west virginia. he is currently being held in jail at that state awaiting an extra digs hearing. a shooting shooting critically injured a man at north 7th and west shiller street. police responded to the scene when several calls came in about a shooting. the name of the victim has not been released. the search continues for a gunman who shot two teens at a

crowded playground in west oak lane it happened in the 1600 block of east walnut lane. an 18-year-old is in critical an. as well a 19-year-old shooting victim is in stable condition. several young children were playing in the park, their parents rushed to pick up their little ones. >> it's very sad, we don't have anywhere else to send them. >> investigators are taking a look at the surveillance cameras in the area hoping they will get a look at the suspects. >> developing in the middle east, israel says two rockets were fired from gaza a few hours after a humanitarian cease-fire was supposed to begin. before the truce was supposed to to go into effect, oh, an israeli airstrike israels

into one lane, but it's not causing the delays that it is or not southbound side. if you want to avoid the backlog exit at the vine westbound take that to the silk eastbound to the platt bridge back to i-95. speaking of i-95 so far in delaware, traffic is moving fine. of course 495 is close, president obama will be in wilmington today talking about that and his transportation plan scheduled to land around new castle county airport around 1:15. they are hesitant to tell us what the plan ises but most likely he will come up through route 13 through new castle. he'll head back to the airport around 3:15 when he is scheduled to take off. closures later in the afternoon as he returns. time for the suburban traffic report, upper pits grove, route 40 just reopened. the accident investigation there

federal court on the philadelphia traffic court ticket fixing trial. five former traffic court judges are on trial accused of mail and wire fraud. they dismissed tickets for friends and politically connected. the defense said they practiced judicial discretion and most people who came forward with tickets received leniency whether or not they had connections. a judge tripped away the aamusement tax. the businesses said they would owe $1.3 million in backs taxes. admission fees to strip clubs is taxed at 5%. we know the contract of the couple that was captured by the "action news" photographer. dan sheridan was walk around the fountain at logan
