and rick will be along later think i'm alicia vitarelli, in the news a local casino breaks gr oollexpansion progress. and a car crash makes a mess of the morning rush. but the big story is a man is arrested after a home invasion kidnapping. chopper 6 is overhead as they continue the investigation over trinity road this morning. chad pradelli joins us live from the scene in upper merion, montgomery county, with all the details. chad what can you tell us? >> reporter: police justs wrapped up the crime scene, that is the home where the husband was allegedly kidnapped and the wife tied up and this crime has this neighborhood on edge. upper merion police say the intruder broke into the home stole a shotgun from the

intruder, tied up the wife and took the husband, he took the husband to the wawa to get cash and the woman broke free on called the police and they spotted the victim's car here, and the vehicle pursuit ensued and the suspect ditched the car at this commercial business on south gulph road. he jumped the sound wall and was captured in the bob white neighborhood in upper merion. >> it makes me feel sick inside. it makes me feel sick. >> understand he is okay, and his wife, fiance is okay. and i'm glad to hear that. >> neighbors had a hard time grasping the home invasion, they grabbed their surveillance system to try to find evidence in the case. >> i am concerned about my neighbor and how he is doing. >> and police are currently interviewing that suspect.

his name has not been released and the two victims are doing just fine. i'm live in upper merion township, chad pradelli, channel 6 "action news." >> chad, glad to know they are doing okay. two men remain on the loose this noon after a home of a bedridden man was invaded. it happened just before 1:00 a.m. on jackson street. the 61-year-old homeowner was there with his 24-year-old son, the robbers took cash and cell phones from the home and no one was hurt. philadelphia police continue to investigate the shooting of a couple outside of a rite-aid overnight. both are in critical condition after being shot several times on caster avenue. vernon odom joins us with the latest on this very disturbing investigation. >> good afternoon, at this hour, police have the name of a suspect and they are in the process of getting an arrest warrant. in the meantime, the charges include attempted murder.

gun fire erupted outside of this rite-aid monday night leaving this couple lying on the road with bullet wounds. the male was hit three times in the abdomen, the 46-year-old woman was shot at least nine times. both are hospitalized at this hour, after extensive surgery. both are expected to survive this attack. police are convinced that this is the result of some kind of ongoing dispute not a robbery attempt. >> we know the shooter fired the shots from point-blank range and there are businesses in the area that have camera that are pointing in the area where the victims were laying. >> police have the video but have not released it to investigators so far. th at ttased his nameor the nam.

police have recovered the handgun that they believe was used in the shooting case. the suspect is still on te lam at this hour, described 5'5" tall, black male. vernon odom, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you vernon. philadelphia police are looking for the gunman that shot two people in holmesburg overnight. the shooter fired 17 shots at the 4600 block of kendrick street. >> it appears that this individual just emptied his semi automatic gun, and fired every shot he had. >> the victims live on that street, they scurried inside of their hom to get help and police say the shooting is possibly drug related and investigators are talking to witnesses and surveying video for clues. chopper 6 hd was above the scene of a tractor trailer accident on the northeast extension of the
