off, i'm rick williams. big story tonight is a line of strong, noisy storms that is still working its way through the area right at this moment. the rumble of thunder could be heard across our area tonight, and the rain caused diners to dash indoors like here on wayne avenue in wayne, in wilmington, ominous skies opened up unleashing a drenching downpour on unfortunate souls at fourth and market. and, drivers on mall boulevard in king of prussia had to keep the wipers on high, tonight. meanwhile, thousands of people have lost power this evening, peco is making progress restoring customers we're told but nearly 3,000 are still in the dark, mostly in delaware county. meanwhile nearly 5,000 customers served by del marva power in kent and new castle counties are out, tonight. meteorologist cecily tynan is tracking end of the system with live double scan radar as she's the at the "action news"

big board, hi cecily. >> we had 15,000 lightening strikes from this system and it has moved out of philadelphia, but storm tracker six live double scan is showing it is not completely out of the area, right now, area is getting hit, is kent county, delaware. you can see this batch, of storms, over dover, they are not the severe but they have plenty of lightening strikes, 175 lightening strokes over the past 15 minutes. they are beginning to cross over the mountains, of the delaware bay so cape may county, cumberland county, you will get hit from these storms, we will hear thunder, see lightening and we will get some brief, but pretty heavy downpours. now, we had some really, great shots, sent to me on my facebook page, justin, from perkasie, showing us that you can see all that really intense, cloud to ground lightening and also we have this great shot, this was from lisa in bordentown and it shows the intensity of the lightening strikes. certainly beautiful pictures to look at. but it also came with a lot of

back here at home violence in gaza sparked protests in philadelphia today. center city was backdrop for two rallies that true hundreds of demonstrators on both sides of the mid east crisis. "action news" reporter kenneth moton is live in center city tonight with more on what unfolded there, earlier today. kenneth. >> reporter: rick, during the heat of those rallies, palestine supporters were over there and israeli supporters were over there in love park. while philadelphia police were trying to prevent potential clashes it that is deadly clash overseas that had people fired up. >> we stand with israel. >> reporter: standing with israel in love park, more than a thousand people, mostly of the jewish faith, rallied. >> we will not surrender. we will not give up. the israeli people are resilient and strong. >> reporter: as battle rages on in gaza a so many here spoke out against the deadly violence. >> this is not just a war against israel, hamas, if you read hamas charter it says not

germany. briar was 89 years old. in radnor township delaware county a mcdonald's employee was running his own drive through business, in the restaurant's parking lot, according to police but instead of burgers and fries he was allegedly selling crack cocaine. "action news" reporter dann cuellar has more in the continuing investigation in the main line drug operation. >> reporter: thinks 29 year-old alan trammel accused on have dishing out more than big macs while on the job at this mcdonald's, radnor township land mark in the 500 block of west lancaster. >> when not working as a crew and preparing food he was out in the rear parking lot selling crack cocaine. so in a sense he could give you a new definition of what may be, considered a happy meal. >> reporter: trammel has been on the radar since last month have after they got a tip call. police say they had made at least four undercover buys from him prior to his arrest and they say, last night, he apparently was ready for a booming night of business. >> he had 157 dime bags on

him. so if that is a weekly average, so that is a very significant amount of crack cocaine in this community. >> reporter: police estimate trammel was netting $1,500 a week after paying off his suppliers. and he has reason to believe he had been selling drugs from the fast food joint from six to eight months, probably a year. >> more upsetting one minute he is out dealing with the parking lot in the crack cocaine and then he is back in preparing food. >> reporter: calling it a pending police math there are was no comment from the franchise matter but customers were startled. >> crap, from the the mcdonald's? oh, my lord. what is this world coming to? >> i think it is terrible. i think it is absolutely awful. i hate to see it happening in this neighborhood or anywhere. >> reporter: police say alan trammel refused to say if any others were involved. he is being held at delaware county prison in right of a hundred thousand dollars bail. in radnor township i'm dann cuellar for channel six "action news".

the south jersey woman police say is seen on this video beating up a former co-worker is out of jail tonight. le tea harris bonded out of the salem county jail just after midnight. police say harris repeatedly punched and kick her mcdonald's co-worker while that co-worker's two-year old son tried to fight her off. the 25 year-old harris surrendered on assault charges, last month. camden county police are asking for your help to take a good look at this new surveillance video that they released this evening. it the shows the the white van suspect in a deadly hit and run, this past weekend. thirty-nine year-old alfredo trayjo was struck on north 27th street near high street at camden around 9:20 saturday night. he died in the hospital yesterday. now detectives hope someone knows who was driving this light van, believed to be a 1983 to 1991 ford van and can contact them hopefully with a tip. a mixed verdict in the philadelphia traffic court ticket fixing trial has some

probably don't know it. in tonight's health check a troubling finding from cdc researchers among eight to 15 years old, children, self awareness doesn't match reality apparently. 80 percent of overweight boys and 70 percent have of overweight girls thought they were about the the right size.
