borough. >> we are at a press conference. >> richard plots is the perpetrator. he came in today, a little after 2:00 p.m., with his case worker and her identity is still being withheld but some of her kin has been notified but not all of her kin. he came in with her and went into the doctor's office and at that point, the worker did confirm he heard loud arguing going on and they came in and they actually opened the door and saw him pointing a gun at the doctor, they did not notice the case worker at that point, they shut the door quietly and went immediately to call 911, no shots were fired at that point in time. what they did determine is that a few minutes when by and they heard multiple shots fired and

then they did force their way back into the office and they noticed the doctor was covering his face, bleeding from the head profusely and the individual still had a gun and the perpetrator had his gun, another doctor and case worker were able to wrestle him to the ground and disarm him. police then arrived. they were very prompt. they are trained to respond to this type of situation and we had a mass of police response here, with darby police and surrounding police departments and our tactical teams were a activated and did a tremendous jobs, the hospital workers are being released at this point in time. they were on lockdown and the building behind me is still closed because the crime scene is still going on. they are still upstairs on the

third floor, doing the ballistics evaluation as well as the evaluation how this occurred during a crime scene perspective. >> the doctor is still as we speak at the hospital, we have officers with him and i believe they are in the process of having him released from the hospital. as we speak right now, the doctor has not been interviewed. so i cannot confirm everything that we proposed to you earlier. >> can we be clear, this gunman walks in shoots the case worker and the doctor and the doctor pulls his weapon and shoots him multiple times in the torso. >> that is what we believe, the only then that can confirm that is the doctor. >> tell us more about the platz.

what they were dealing with. >> the cops told us to get out and i tried to get all of my patients out of the room. it's just crazy. >> i came down for x-rays and i was in there and i was at the desk and all of a sudden the cops came in with the guns drawn and asked us all to get out, to leave. >> there was roughly 100 people inside of the wellness center across the street from the mercy fitzgerald medical center, patients, doctors and personnel were inside and they were evacuated. >> i was walking up and i had to get out of here. >> it's wild. it's like you said mind blowing, i didn't expect this at all. >> back live here, you see the three story building there, the third floor where the shooting unfolded. it's an all county assist, which means law enforcement from all
