in camden a shooting left a mother in critical condition. according to police someone shot her in the neck outside her apartment on teal court while her children were inside asleep. a neighbor told "action news" that the victim had recently moved into that apartment. >> police are searching for the driver of a dark-colored vehicle in connection with a hit-and-run on the boulevard. police say a driver plowed into a man near f street in northeast philadelphia at 12:30 a.m. the force of the impact sent the man flying on the sidewalk. the victim is in stable condition with head and chest injuries no arrests have been mailed. >> a philadelphia police officer is on desk duty after shooting a suspect in the city's strawberry mansion section. this happened on page street. police were surrounding the home looking for a man from an earlier shooting. the person came out of the home

pointed a gun at police and that's when the officer fired. we'll have more on the showdown coming up in a live report at 6:00 a.m. new this morning, here, police arrested a man for brutal assault on a woman in southwest philadelphia. they are looking into the possibility that he attacked daze earlier. a woman was walking down the street, when the attacker came up from behind and and a wire around her neck and started choking her. a police task force in the area heard her cries for help. police say it is similar to an attack on the same street on sunday. >> he grabs her from behind by her headphones, he uses the headphones to strangle her, she passes out, she comes to and continues to fight the male. >> reporter: the attacker stole $7 from the victim and walked away. police have not identified the suspect under arrest, but plan to charge him with attempted

murder. >> the survivor of the carjacking that left three children dead in the city's tioga section is back home this morning and sharing her heart wrenching story. she told "action news" she remembered seeing the white suv barrelling toward her. she thought of kiesha williams and her three children as her own family. >> that's something i will think about the rest of my life. not only the kids that passed and their mother, i would thing about the fact if god wasn't there with his hand on me, i would have been dead. >> 5:35, u.s. state department has no plans at this point to issue travel warnings to county affected by ebola outbreak, but the peace corp is pulling

crashed into a parking lot. small plane clipped the top of a target store in san diego it landed near the loading dock away from the main entrance and customer cars. the plane caught fire, but was extinguished before it reached the fuel tank. a suspected cop killer is in custody, accused of gunning down scott patrick during a routine traffic spot. police tracked him down later in the day and say he opened fire again. police shot back,, -- wounding him and a woman in the mini van. former penn football player died while driving on a trip in florida yesterday.

the 22-year-old was with a group diving for lobsters, when he decided to dive one more, he was a standout linebacker and planned to play one more year with the hurricanes where he was about to enter law school. his coach said he was a terrific young man. >> this story is unusual, an ipod burned a younger girl. the electrical fire spread through the bedroom. emergency crews want parents to know this is not a common problem with ipods. >> we get a lot of calls on them when something something -- malfunctions or they put something else into the outlet.
