terminal avenue opened yesterday at 5:00 p.m. it's been closed since early june heading down the shore. if you're heading northbound, northbound lanes are shut down between terminal avenue and 12th street. stick to i-95 13 or 295. at least we have the southbound lanes open, matt. >> half as good. le thanks karen. philadelphia police officer shot and killed an armed man inside a northeast philadelphia home, police say it began as a burglary call. katherine scott is live on the 900 block of wakeling street of what she learned so far. katherine. >> reporter: matt, police are looking for one suspect. the other was pronounced on the scene after police say he opened fire at officers and officers shot back. investigators are still on the scene here. if you look downcaster, you can see they are looking at a car that's parked down there, we don't know how or if it is connected to the investigation. police are on the scene in

northeast philadelphia. police say two suspects wearing masks and gloves have been waiting for the homeowners on the 900 block of wakeling street early this morning. when the homeowners arrived at 12:45, the men forced them inside the home at gunpoint and the burglary alarm sounded. when police got there, one of the them opened the door and told police everything was fine. the suspect went back inside and told her to show police i.d. she said everything was okay, but nonverbally, she was able to signal that something was wrong. the officer went inside, the one suspect was trying to stop the other homeowner from leaving the home, that's when he saw the officer, he pointed the gun toward the officer's head and fired three shots and missed the officer. >> the officer himself fired from his gun multiple times and he did strike the male suspect. he was hit inside the foyer area and dropped to the ground.

>> reporter: and back here live, where investigators remain on the scene here, the suspect was pronounced dead, his gun was recovered next to him. some of the bullets went through the wall next-door. while all that commotion was going on another suspect fled out the back door, a k-9 unit was called in and the suspect has not turned up. there are cameras in the area, police are hopeful they will help in the investigation, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> another news story right here. police in the city of chester are investigating two separate shootings. shots rang out on the 2600 block of west third street at 1:30 a.m., police arrived to find a man shot dead, 18 to 20 shell casings in the street. several hours earlier a man was shot in the neck at 22nd and
