meteorologist chris sowers joins us with the accuweather forecast. we are hoping not too long. let's go live on sky 6. there's the view of the philadelphia international airport. we'll go over to storm tracker 6 live double scan, as anticipated most of the rain is east of the city at this point. jersey shore getting walloped, we're seeing drenching downpours from cape may to seaside heights. we'll see this over the next several hours. in the afternoon, we'll see things wind down and taper off, the afternoon is not that bad. it will shut off you will the precipitation we're seeing this morning. philadelphia, 68. millville, 67, atlantic city, 67 and sea isle city, 67 degrees.

we're seeing steady rains across central south jersey and delaware, and we'll see the rain moorvel away and by 6:00 p.m. we may see sunshine and 79 degrees. what's ahead here, it turns humid you'll notice the humidity increasing by tomorrow. it's an unsettled weekend, we have more showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for sunday. one thing you'll notice there are no 90s in the seven-day forecast. it will get warmer, and noticeably more humid, but we'll steer clear of the 90s. we'll check storm tracker 6 live and make a few zooms for you and have all the timings on future tracker and the seven day. a little girl sitting on her porch in the grays ferry section of philadelphia, was killed by a stray bullet. the fight started and three other people were injured.

>> i believe there was an argument, the offender, shot one male and there were other rounds that struck people that were not involved in the argument. >> police say the gunman fled on a bicycle, they did take one man into custody for questioning, they are calling him a person of interest. in south philadelphia, a ambulance responding to a shooting in that area, medics were rushed to 13th and katherine before 11:30 when their vehicle slammed into a honda civic. the driver of the car was hurt, as for the shooting itself, a 30-year-old man was killed no word on a suspect or motive. investigators in new jersey are investigating a triple shooting, this happened in the unit block of walnut street in salem city. there's no word on how badly the victims were hurt or whether any arrests have been made. chopper 6hd was over the scene as police search for a car

that reportedly went in the delaware river in the bridesburg section. the report came in from a dock of the 5300 block of tacony street. witnesses say they saw a cargo off the ramp and into the water. there's no sight of the car or the person in the water. upper darby police scoured indian rock park looking for two bodies after a man confessed to their murders. the man is already behind bars for allegedly killing two others, he said he murdered two more and buried them at the park. melissa magee -- annie mccormick has the details. >> reporter: 30-year-old john gontz is in jail for murder. he contacted police for another double murder. >> during the course of interviewing him, he said he

killed two people inside his apartment in february 2012, he dismembered their bodies inside the bath tubl and put them in -- tub and put them in tote bags. he claims he stabbed the victims after an argument. he is already awaiting trial for the murders of two teenage boarls from overbrook. today's confession came from him when he addressed the authorities on his on. >> the guy is in prison awaiting a capital murder case for shooting two kids in a drug robbery. he has a long criminal record, this is his information, he has nothing to gain by it. >> reporter: the dispute was over a prostitute. the names he has given given to police were not released to to us, upper darby police say they

have no missing cases or cold cases with those victims' name. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> protesters took to the streets of center city to demand funding for philadelphia schools. they demonstrated outside governor tom corbett's office on south broad street. parents, educators enstudents learned that the budget crisis will not be solved by harrisburg anytime soon. the votes for a cigarette tax hike has been postponed. officials say that is threatening to delay the start of school. it will be a head to head matchup, the governor's rails will be between tom corbett and tom wolf. two others trying to get on the

ballot couldn't get on the ballot in time. the house of representatives has passed a bill to address the crisis at the u.s./mexico border. it would allow the u.s. to send the unaccompanied youth back home without hearings. it would shut down a program created by president obama granting work permits to 700,000 immigrants brought here illegally as children. president obama said the house knows the bill won't pass in the senate because they have gone home. >> i'm going to have act alone, we don't have enough resources, we've run out of money. >> members of the house hispanic caucus republicans are using the border crisis what the caucus is calling their extreme agenda. >> employers added 200,000 jobs

boardwalk in atlantic city, 67 degrees. here's storm tracker 6 live double scan what's going on we actually have a stalled out frontal system that's hugging the coast, and along that front, we're seeing waves of energy, or small areas of low pressure kind of riding that system. you'll notice not one batch, but two batches of moisture with the second one developing off the coast of the carolinas. as we zoom in closer, you can see the heavier downpours in tuckerton, mays landing and oceanville and will also. farther to the north we're egg -- atlantic city. farther to the north you can see heavier downpours on route 9 or the garden state parkway. believe it or not, it only takes speeds of 30 miles per hour to create hydroplaning. go easy this morning until the

drenching downpours move out. believe it or not, it's a bermuda high that's causing the rain. the high is causing an atmospheric road block not allowing the frontal system to push off the coast keeping everything in place. as long as that front is over the eastern seaboard it will acts the focal point for showers and thunderstorms. future tracker 6 shows during the late morning hours in the first part of the afternoon we'll see clearing taking place at least as far as the rain is concerned. we'll deal with heavy cloud, and later i wouldn't be surprised if you see a few peeks of sunshine. overnight, partly cloudy skies, a threat of pop-up shower or thunderstorm, but the heavy downpours will hold off once again until we get into sunday afternoon, when this hole system could reload and things start flaring up again.

like that. a study from the university of washington looked at women between 20 and 49. patients who used the pill in the last year were 50% more likely to have a breast cancer diagnosis. breast cancer is rare among that age group. not all birth control is the same, low dose pills were not found to increase risks. taking birth control are known to lower the risk of ovarian and uterine carnals. a new study said homemade lunches are often missing the vegetables be and milk and other healthy items recommended. the most common items were sandwiches, which were found in 59% of lunch. 34% contained fruit and 11%

wash only full loads of laundry, the saves wear and tear on your machine. whatever the size of your load use the highest spin setting your fabrics allow. this reduces the amount of moisture in your clothes and the drier will have less work to do and save you energy. don't dry your clothes and let the moisture sensor decide when the load is dry. fabric softener sheets can fool the sensor in the drier. wash and dry similar items together so everything dries evenly. another thing many people forget to do, clean out the lint filter on your drier after every load it keeps the air circulating and takes less time to dry your clothes, saving you even more money.
