that this is the way an investigation is typically handled, they spend millions of dollars working on this for two and a half years. >> prosecutors say he stole thousands of dollars from the philadelphia school district and jacked up claims for funds he received for a charter school program for at risk middle schoolers. chaka fattah was not in court but says this will bring the matter closer to the day where my son can defend himself in court. very full confidence in my son and i love him and stand by him today and every day. >> this morning chaka fattah jr. told "action news" that he believes that the charges and the entire fbi investigation were politically motivated and he told the judge he cannot afford a lawyer now and the

dramatic video of a harr harrowing rescue off the waters of hawaii. they were clinging to life and some heads just barely held above water. for two hours they battled the waves and the beating sun and then the coast guard arrived and they were lifted one by one to a waiting chopper, the tracking device on the boat helped them find the boaters in time. on health check, we continue our coverage on the ebola virus

and how local hospitals would respond if a potential patient was in our area. ali gorman is at the big board ton. >> in almost every hospital in america has procedures in place to handle contagious viruses like ebola, as a nurse they know what to do if they suspect something contagious. here is one local hospital's procedures. >> it looks like an ordinary room. >> emergency room dr. rick huhn shows us two rooms inside of cooper university hospital. there are two circulation fans that will be turned on, any path agains will be sucked out. >> patients have their on bathroom and all equipment needed is kept inside of room. used only on the opinion so as not to spread germs.

workers also depend on an isolation cart like this one. a gown and goggles and face shield. >> it protects your eye and nose and mouth. >> in the case of ebola this is vital because it is spread through body fluids and the air felt ration system is not necessary but an added precaution, ebola is not spread through the area. and according to the experts that is an advantage. it make its easier to contain more than viruses or other viruses that spread to many more people. and cooper has two of the isolation rooms designated and can turn a whole wing into isolation rooms if needs. these are not just for ebola, they are used for tuberculosis and the key is to recognize the
