most fell apart. now there's another batch out by pittsburgh. looks like we'll start out fairly bright but then wind up with sun and clouds and eventually a couple spotty showers or thunderstorms may try to pop through later today. not a lot of that, though. 72 in philadelphia right now, 65 in allentown. not feeling all that humid as you step outside which is nice and as we move out the door between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 looks like we'll be in the low 70's, fairly comfortable, partly cloudy skies overall. some of you may break into full sunshine. as we roll through the day it's a warm one. 74 by 9 o'clock, 81 by noon. and then your high today is the 3 o'clock is going to be that 86-degree high. winds not all that strong, just slightly breezy and while we're posting the chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm doesn't look like there's much of a chance of that, it's just something to keep in mind. at steel stacks tonight the big slow at musikfest is steely dan at 8:30. looks like partly cloudy conditions, a light north wind and 72 degrees by the time steely dan takes the stage. not bad. your accuweather 7-day coming up karen. >> i'll be at musikfest this afternoon meeting and greeting

with everybody. right now we're taking a live look at 202. we have a problem. this is right near 401. you can see the flashing lights. a disabled vehicle is blocking the right lane here in malvern so watch for this. looks like we have a tow truck on the scene with this one and track can get by but causing a slowing on 202 northbound as you head near 401 watch for that disabled vehicle out there blocking the right lane right now. here in limerick montgomery county an early morning problem here a-disabled vehicle partially blocking traffic here as well. ridge pike at rupert road. we've had a lot of disabled vehicles out there in the early hours here having too and crews are already on the scene with this one. the big picture on the blue route schuylkill i-95 in pretty good shape with speeds mostly in the 50's right now, matt. >> thank you, karen. detectives continue searching for clues in the case of a woman who was found dead in pennypack park and neighbors are even further on edge now that police wonder if this may be the work of a serial rapist. "action news" reporter

katherine scott is live at police headquarters with the latest on the investigation. katherine. >> reporter: matt, the cause of death has not yet been determined, so when that is, that can certainly shed some more light on this situation but we do know homicide detectives have taken over this case. you can see homicide detectives yesterday evening in pennypack park around the chris opinion recreation center it's in the area of holme and convent which is near where this lady was found. the body of 46-year-old connie mcclain-murray was found around 6:00 yesterday morning by a woman walking her dog. sources told "action news" it appeared the victim had been strangled and there were signs of a struggle. they were also investigating if she had been sexually assaulted: mcclain-murray had gone for a walk around 9:00 91 night and when she didn't return around 11:00 p.m. her husband and daughter went out ot looking for her. they filed a missing persons report several hours later. they're hoping someone has information and will come forward.

>> if anyone saw her jogging or if anyone knows of anything or heard anything they should give us a call and pass along that information to our investigators. >> reporter: and mcclain-murray's body was found not too far from where some sexual assaults took place that have been connected to the pennypack rapist but again this has not been connected so far but it does have people in that area on edge. we are expecting the medical examiner's report to be released today. we are live at police headquarters, katherine scott, channel 6 "action news." >> okay, thanks so much katherine. new on "action news," it's not a crime to deposit checks and withdraw cash except when the checks are worthless. philadelphia police say the woman in these surveillance pictures got away with more than $20,000 by depositing fraudulent checks at susquehanna bank and td bank machines. if you recognize her, police would like a call. >> happening today, philadelphia mayor michael nutter will lobby for a cigarette tax hike at a pennsylvania senate appropriations committee hearing in city hall.

the mayor says the tax increase is desperately needed to help fund the city schools. city councilman kenyatta johnson led a rally in center city yesterday that drew support for the two dollars per pack height. school officials say if they don't get the added revenue by august 15th, they will begin sending out layoff notices to 1300 school employees. >> the husband of the second american aide worker recently diagnosed with ebola says his wife is weak but showing signs of improvement. 59-year-old nancy writebol is now at emory university hospital in atlanta where she is taking an experimental drug. she and her colleague, dr. kent brantly who is also at emory contracted the disease while treating ebola patients in africa. the world health organization is beginning a two-day emergency meeting today to discuss new measures to tackle the virus. the latest outbreak of the disease in africa has killed 887 people. an american general was

killed in an ambush in afghanistan. major general harold j. green was shot to death by a gunman dressed as an afghan soldier. greene was the highest ranking officer killed in combat since 1970 during the vietnam war. the shooting happened at a camp west of kabul as gunmen sprayed bullets during a meet pentagon of allied troops much 15 people were wounded. the gunman was also killed. "good morning america" will further examine the effects of the ebola outbreak and look at american general who was killed. that's coming up at 7:00 a.m. right after "action news." >> in terms of our whether it has been rather calm these days. >> yeah, it has been. looks like another mainly calm day today, too, matt. right now we've got storm tracker 6 live double scan and we are showing precipitation-free tuesday morning -- tuesday, right, wednesday morning commute conditions and as we take a look outside, didn't want to scare everybody there, it is

wednesday, we've got penn's landing and calm weather on the ocean right around the river i should say right now. we are looking at light winds across the region and fairly comfortable conditions. 72 degrees outside in philadelphia currently. 65 in allentown. 64 in reading, 67 trenton, 72 in both sea isle city and at the boardwalk in atlantic city and again, humidity below what we would consider humid in most cases. future tracker 6 shows that you between noon and 4 o'clock it's clouds mixing with some sunny breaks. there is the slight chance of a little pop-up shower or perhaps a thunderstorm in just a couple of neighborhoods but it doesn't look like it will be everywhere nor does it look like it will last all that long. we'll be on the lookout for something popping up into the evening as well but in general it doesn't look too bad. up in allentown this afternoon, 82 degrees, clouds and sun. we're allowing for a spotty storm but even up in the lehigh valley i don't think you see very much of that today. down the shore mainly dry conditions. of course if you hear thunder get avenue the beach but chances appear to be pretty low for that. sun and clouds 78 degrees by

noon and 83 degrees by 3 o'clock on the beach. your ocean temperatures are up in the low to mid 70's so that's good. the bad thing about the ocean is that we still have bertha passing us by and that means we are getting a lot of on shore flow because of that storm off the coast and that's creating some large swells and of course rip currents form when you get all that water pushed up on the ocean and then it has to work its way back out to sea. it does that in a narrow channel. obviously you want to swim either bar left lane to the beach to the north or south to get out of that rip current today. sun and clouds then in philadelphia, a spotty thunderstorm can't be ruled out but most of you don't see it. 86 degrees is your forecast high. 73 by 8:00, 79 by 11:00 and four by 2 o'clock with our high of 86 degrees hitting at about 3 o'clock this afternoon. for the phillies tonight, 81 for the first pitch, 76 at the end of the game under partly cloudy skies. likely dry there. and your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast shows that high of 86 today with a mix of clouds and sun. now, tomorrow sunny and nice,

traffic report. we're going to start out live right now and you know what, it is a good wednesday morning. we've got no problems right here on the blue route at the mid county tolls. you see southbound traffic headed towards the schuylkill moving nicely, roads are clear, roads are dry and we're good to go right now. that's the blue route. how about 202? let's see what it looks like in king of prussia as we switch our camera view and on 202 we're seeing no problems there either as we scan around your majors not getting reports of any accidents. this is 202 near the schuylkill northbound traffic right there and you could see traffic moving fine on 202 near king of prussia. no problems right here as you're headed out the door. let's check the maps here with the new jersey overview. we've got euro 42 moving fine at 55 miles an hour. 55 heading into 42 about 57 and you see no problem on 295 or the new jersey turnpike. we mentioned 42 and as you're traveling near turnersville in our commuter traffic report we have people saying the road conditions that's out there on 42 and watch for that however. we've got more lanes available than we normally do so that

traffic construction there that's been causing you so many headaches in the early morning hours is looking a little bit better on 42. how about the temperatures? not bad. 60 degrees in quakertown, pretty comfortable. 68 in center city. and like the past couple mornings no fog in the area. roads are clear and dry so no weather related problems for your early morning commute. 66 in hammonton and 66 in dover right now. and a little later on today, 86 for your high. it's warm with clouds and sun, a spotty thunderstorm but that shouldn't impact your evening commute too much. it will just be spotty. matt and erin. >> thanks so much, karen. new on "action news," the cause of death is still not known after an autopsy was performed on a nine-year-old harrisburg boy who was found dead in his home last week. the coroner has now called for further testing. it could be weeks before we know what exactly caused the death of jared pepco junior. police found the boy dead on the floor which was covered in

his own feces. the boy died four days prior but his father did not tell anyone. no one has been charged for the boy's death. a report says russian hackers have stole he len 1.2 billion user names and pass words. wisconsin based hold security uncovered this breach which may be the biggest theft of internet credentials in history. the firm told the new york times the cyber crooks stole from more than 420,000 web sites. experts believe the data is being used for spam and junk mail as opposed to being sold for identity theft purposes. >> ryan howard may be having a horrible season with the phillies. last night he was a hero as his bat ended a game that had already lasted more than five hours. the phillies and astros, excuse me, were locked in a one-one draw in the 15th inning. howard came up to the plate and singled in the winning run. the phillies walked off the field with a two to one win. the two teams play each other again tonight.
