while she is talking, police are searching for this man, 47 year-old kenneth todd. wednesday night, and the big story on "action news" tonight is word of the robbery and assault of a woman who was dog sitting on pine street. "action news" reporter kenneth moton has an exclusive interview with the victim and kenneth is now live at 13th and pine, kenneth the. >> reporter: jim, investigators are out this evening looking for the suspect kenneth todd. they say this man has been in and out of jail and they believe he is still somewhere in center city after violent attack on this block. >> he kicked in the door. >> reporter: this 46 year-old center sit would i man only showed "action news" exactly how she survived a vicious brutal attack in the pine street home. >> i just remember he came in, he grabbed me by the throat and i just remember not being able to breathe. >> reporter: it was friday july 25th around 10:00 p.m. on the 1300 block of this busy street with people, homes and

businesses. but philadelphia police investigators say that didn't stop 47 year-old kenneth todd from stalking the dog walker who was watching after her neighbor's pet and house. we're protecting her name but she said as soon as she entered her neighbor's home todd was not far behind demanding cash. >> he punched me in the face and at one point i was on the ground. i had always been told, you know to use your body to your advantage and get on the ground and kick, and so that is what i started to do. >> reporter: woman blacked out. >> this was it. >> reporter: home owner lewis backy who was out of town showed us how suspect attacker ransacked his house before stealing his lap top. >> i think it saved her life because the individual was looking for something, demanding money, assumed it was her house. >> reporter: victim was so badly beaten she was taken to jefferson university hospital, and svu detectives got involved. their investigation led them to todd a transient who is known for committing robberies and assaults in center city n fact he was just released from

jail on a robbery conviction on july 3rd, and never reported to his parole officer. details this victim didn't know until right now. >> i want everything thrown at him and i want him to stay in jail, that is what i want. >> reporter: victim says that she saw the suspect before the attack on nearby waiverly street. he asked for a cigarette. she gave him one. svu and u.s. marshals want to hear from you if you see this man. is there a $1,000 reward. reporting live from center city tonight kenneth moton for channel six "action news". >> thanks, kenneth. delaware state trooper is alive tonight, thanks to his bullet-proof vest. he was shot, while serving a warrant at this home on the 1,000 block of powell court, in the red lion chase section of bear. this happened at 11:19 this morning. state police were looking for a suspect wanted in last month's casino robbery at caesars in atlantic city. authorities say suspect's father 50 year-old john greenly, opened fire from his

second floor stairway as the troopers entered the home. they did not fire back but were able to arrest greenly. his son nathanal was found in pennsylvania this afternoon and taken into custody. the four two-year old trooper was treated for minor injuries and released to day. there is new information tonight about the murder of a woman in penny pack park. changes in the mummers parade, this coming new years day. literally and figuratively, a new direction. here we go, live on south broad street is "action news" reporter sharrie williams, sharrie, you've got the details. >> reporter: and jim, the parade currently starts in the heart of south philadelphia, and then works its way up south broad street, to city hall. well, organizers are saying they want to do it the other way around and start the parade at city hall. organizers think that this will enhance the the parade, will help it flow better and hopefully help bring back the crowds. >> i love this parade. it is not a one day event for me. >> reporter: rich is deeply investigated in philadelphia's annual mummers parade, president of the comics division and owner of the murray comics he has been with the parade over five decades but over that time crowd participation has sharply decline. >> you work so hard all year
