we're starting this morning with breaking news, there's a manhunt underway for a delawareg county man. police say he shot and stabbed his wife to death and is on the run with her young sons. an amber alert has gone out for them. katherine scott is live near the scene in drexel hill good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, that's right, pennsylvania state police did issue an amber alert, state police in new york, new jersey and delaware have been notified. a woman in her 30s was killed by her husband and he took off with two young boys. police have been holding the scene in drexel hill as they continue to investigate the case on abbey terrace. police have released the picture of 31-year-old keith belajonas. 6 feet tall, got into a path find with a license plate,

jdh74477. the woman's body was in the second floor apartment with multiple stab wounds and shot in the head. one of the occupants heard the struggle, he saw belajonas come down the stairs with the kids and one of the children asked is mommy dead. >> we have state police involved there's an amber alert for the automobile. there's a lot of connections to long island or staten island, new york which parentally this guy is originally from. >> and again, i want to give you that description of the vehicle, a gray nissan path finder with pennsylvania license jdh7477. police are still here on the scene they are ray waiting a search warrant -- they are awaiting a search warrant to go inside the apartment, police say

belajonas is armed and dangerous. >> the body of the u.s. general who was killed in afghanistan on tuesday is scheduled to arrive at dover air force base later this morning. major general harold green is the highest ranking officer killed in combat since 1970 during the vietnam war. an average soldier who was being trained by the u.s. military killed green by a military academy near kabul. he opened fire on green near a bathroom. 15 people were injured before the afghanistan soldier was shot and killed. >> israel has agreed to extend a cease-fire for another 48 hours. the current cease-fire was set to expire at 1:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. netanyahu said his county regrets all the civilian deaths in gaza, but maintains the military assault is justified. in addition to the 1900 palestinians who have died, gaza's infrastructure is

home. police identify the suspect as kenneth todd, investigators say todd who has been in and out of jail attacked the woman along the 1400 block of wine street. the woman showed "action news" how she survived a vicious attack. >> i remember he came in, he grabbed me by the throat. i remember not being able to breathe. >> the victim was so badly beaten she was taken to jefferson university hospital. detectives say todd is a transient who is known for committing robbery and assaults in the city. if you know where's there is a $1,000 reward. prosecutors are appealing house arrests john spicer, terry bets and brine norman, defense
