long for the next one unfortunately. and joining us live from los angeles with the latest on the damage and the other storm headed for hawaii. >> rick, state officials in hawaii wrapped up a news conference a short time ago. they are still concerned about flash flooding and the powerful winds. high winds, soaking rain and strong surf as tropical storm iselle made landfall this morning. explosions as downed power lines showered sparks in the darkness, leaving nearly 25,000 homes without powers. and downed trees blocked roads for drivers. the forecast, say tropical storm iselle and approaching hurricane julio are the biggest storms since 1992. >> we continue to watch julio. while that is probably north of the big island we can't guarantee it. >> travellers returning to lax

world news has more on that coming up. the police in west philadelphia investigating a deadly one-car crash involving a taxi cab. it slammed into a wall, unclear what caused it. a 67 year old driver dead at the scene. the man accused of opening fire in a delaware county wellness center last month now out of the hospital. 49 year old richard plotts faces several charges stemming from the shooting killing teresa hunt, his case worker in darby. and psychiatrist lee silverman also founded in the shooting. plotts was injured when silverman pulled out his own weapon and shot him. the four-year hunt for a major player in the underage prostitution ring ends with an

arrest. catching up with john guerra last night. on the run since 2010. accused of recruiting women as young as 17 years old with offers of cash and drugs and promoting sex acts on craigslist. tleem co-defendants pled guilty four years ago and guerra has been denied bail. and a middle teacher arrested for allegedly pursuing a sexual relationship with one of his own old students. patrick mcguire contacted the girl who is now 13 through social media. he taught the victim at the middle school. the police were contacted and they arrested him on attempting luring. and held on bail. and being sued by visitors who say they are physically abused by overly aggressive hotel security staff in atlantic city. captured on video and we have more on the story.

>> this video raising eyebrows tonight, as you can imagine. in the past two weeks several lawsuits have been filed in civil court against caesars entertainment describing assault and battery in the casino and the club and one expects more lawsuits to fall. and where everyone is welcome is not what they found. >> it was miserable. >> and a classical guitarist is also suing. his disagreement got him punched, kicked and stomped on according to his lawsuit. former college basketball player, rob says things worse for him after his angry dispute with total security at a casino nightclub. >> laying in a pool of my own blood. i thought i was dying.

>> a mail carrier in ohio could face federal charges for trashing letters she was supposed to be delivering. a resident in cincinnati recorded this dumping wednesday. the postal service received several complaints from neighbors missing their mail. fortunately other crews went to the dumpster and retrieved the documents before they were sent to the landfill. they are investigating the incident. an alleged car thief thought it was the best day of his life, listen to the music in a minute.

away from kickoff between the bears and eagles in preseason game number one. you mentioned high hopes for the season and a lot of them arrive on the hopes of one mccoy. coming off a career year winning the nfl rushing title. mccoy says always trying to get better. shedding 5-10 pounds and jeff asked him about that. >> why do you need to a little lighter if you were already that good. >> i always need to get better. i am trying to fix it i am a lot quicker. being better on my diet. and small keys that i can get better at. actually i had 1600 yards rushing and i would have added 400 more yards. and it is part of growing, that you are chasing perfection. >> 2,000 yards, that would be something.

washington, d.c. widening out the picture, that ridge of high pressure to the north will help to suppress all of the precipitation south and west of the region. do you not have to worry about any of the moisture over the ohio and tennessee river valleys as we get into the weekend. the only thing you may notice is a few more high thin clouds streaking in for the second half of the weekend. and futuretracker 6 has you covered. numbers along the i-95 and lower 80s north and west of town, allentown and reading. 79 in atlantic city at 3:00. and pair of 7's in wildwood. and getting into the afternoon hours sunday, not much of a difference. temperatures in the upper 80s. the only thing will you probably notice by sunday afternoon is a slight increase in the humidity. but still nothing unbearable for the month of august. down the shore, 75 degrees the ocean temperature tomorrow. and as you head inland, sunny and nice and high of 79.

78 sunday and sunshine and a new high thin clouds around. up north of philadelphia, north of the shore to the poconos we head. mostly sunny, high pressure, high 76. 77 as we get into sunday with sunshine. and the call from accuweather tonight, a moon-lit sky. get out and enjoy. 65 in the city and 57 in the suburbs with the cool west-northwestly wind keeping the numbers below average. the accuweather forecast showing sunshine and a few clouds tomorrow. high up to 85. slightly humid sunday with a high temperature up to 86 degrees. warm and turning muggy monday with a high temperature of 84. tuesday, mostly dry with high of 82. and late tuesday an average thunderstorm likely and that could spill over into wednesday with morning rain. a high of 84, just beautiful. in the wake of that, low humidity and high of 80. no 90s in sight. this is august by the way, no heat wave on that board.
