>> good morning, it is 4:30. let's find out a little bit about what you can expect with these storms coming in and go over to karen rogers, she's in for meteorologist, david murphy. good morning. >> good morning, we're looking at storm tracker 6 live double scan through the area and you can see even starting our morning we are wet through much of the region. just starting to hit philadelphia. we're seeing mostly areas of green which is not indicating very heavy rain but you see sort of specs of yellow and we are seeing -- you'll see some downpours mixing in with this. i don't think this is going to last all day but we've warned you about this that today would be your wettest day of the seven day period. we do have concerns for some very heavy rainfall that will be coming through our region at times today so we're talking periods of rain. satellitesatellite 6 and actionr showing the clouds in place. the rain has moved in, just starting in philadelphia and we don't have a solid line. we're going get a break, some more rain, some heavy downpours, all mixing in at times today. 72 degrees right now in philadelphia.

70 in allentown, 70 in millville, feeling muggy out there, lots of clouds and those periods of rain are the big concern today. we could be seeing some localized flooding because of it. some heavy rain at times holding that temperature down to 79 degrees. it rains heavier later on tonight as well so what's in store for tomorrow? details in that seven-day forecast coming up. >> thank you karen. breaking news story this morning, it was a violent night in atlantic city. three people were shot outside of an apartment complex overnight. the action cam was on the scene outside the rennie entrance of the schoolhouse apartment on north martin luther king boulevard. police tell "action news" gunfire exploded just after midnight. all three victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. there's currently no word on their current condition. police say the gunman took off in a burgundy colored vehicle and then there was a second shooting in ac overnight. details on this violent night coming up in a live report from new jersey. >> oscar winning actor and

comedian robin williams died yesterday in california. investigators suspect williams' death was a suicide. his wife susan schneider she had the actor had been suffering from severe depression recently. she says she is utterly heartbroken and hopes that people will focus on his life and the countless moments of joy and laughter williams gave to all of us. "action news" reporter erin o'hearn has reaction from celebrities and local fans and joins us live at the big board. erin. >> such shocking news. hollywood has lost an enormous talent from his early days playing a goofy alien on the small screen to his award winning dramatic roles on the big screen, williams was one of those rare actors who could command both roles with ease and success. however, he certainly struggled with demons. williams had always been candid about his struggle with addiction and recently entered rehab in july. the comedian who got his start playing an alien in the sitcom mork and mindy went on to many more critically acclaimed

"gma" starts at 7:00 a.m. right after "action news." >> police in moorestown new jersey are investigating a spree of burglaries in the area and the latest break in the bands did it made off with a safe with $200,000 worth of jewels inside. rj emger says he found his bedroom ransacked when he returned from the shore sunday evening. police say the burglary is one of a half dozen in the past two months. last week authorities say bandits stole $60,000 worth of jewelry from a home on borton landing road. the break-ins have residents feeling less secure. >> absolutely crazy. it's a dead end. i wouldn't think anybody would be coming down here to rob people. everybody is very close. it's a very close knit community. >> police say they've stepped up patrols in the area. however, authorities suggest that homeowners store their valuables in a safety deposit box at the bank instead. there's a call this morning for calm in the saint louis suburb of ferguson.

emotions are running high after the killing of an unarmed black teen at the hands of police. there have been two nights of unrest with angry protests rioting and looting in the hours after the killing of 18-year-old michael brown. witnesses say brown had his hands up when police shot him during a confrontation saturday night. brown was supposed to start his first day of college classes yesterday but instead his parents are planning his funeral. >> funny, silly, make you laugh. any problems that would be going on or any situation, wasn't nothing that he couldn't solve. he bring people back together. he was a good boy. he didn't deserve none of this. >> the lawyer who represented trayvon martin's family benjamin crump is working with brown's parents. the fbi and the justice department are now reviewing the shooting. >> wrapping right now, the roosevelt boulevard is getting a $5.8 million face-lift. workers will be repaving the

northbound and southbound lanes of the inside lanes between ninth street and the bucks county line they began with the northbound lanes last night. and the work will last until october. that area of the inner boulevard will close week nights from 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next morning through august 15th. traffic will be diverted to the outside lanes. drivers are advised to at a how extra time through the construction area because backups are expected. we have new information on a story we brought you yesterday morning. we have learned the identity of the pedestrian who was struck and killed in a hit and run in vineland, new jersey. a driver struck 49-year-old armando lopez as he attempted to cross the intersection of delsea drive and landis avenue sunday night at 11:00. police have not released an official description of the suspect's vehicle. investigators are reviewing nearby surveillance cameras for clues. and happening today, the man accused of running over a romantic rival in delaware county is scheduled to be in

court. only "action news" was there as conroy williams surrendered to collingdale police just about a month ago. he's accused of waiting outside his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend's home in april and intentionally hitting him with his car. williams is charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault. >> ♪ >> a california based drug company says it's run out of the experimental drug used to treat ebola. u.s. officials put officials in liberia in touch of the company. the news that stocks are gone are produced anger over the fact that the only people to receive the treatment so far are westerners. two are being treated in atlanta. the ebola has killed a thousand people be infected another 1800. >> the philadelphia phillies

>> 4:42 now and it's been awhile since we've had a real steady rain around here. >> soaking rain, yeah. so, if your lawn is parched you're getting a soaking but the trouble is when it comes down so hard we do have the the trouble is when it comes so you need to be careful as it's coming down and you're driving around, just ponding on the rain. storm tracker 6 live double scan around the region and you can see we've got the rain in spots. what we're not seeing is areas of red indicate something really heavy downpours but the areas of yellow indicating, well, yeah, it's coming down pretty good. it's starting to pop up right now and we're looking at that near lancaster, near reading and dover so it's not a solid line of rain moving through the region but already starting to get wet through the area. let's head on outside and see what it looks like right now as sky 6 goes live in hd. the clouds are up above as we look at the center city skyline. that temperature 72 degrees right now. the dewpoint is 66 degrees indicating the amount of moisture in the atmosphere there.

the winds out of the east-southeast at 9 miles an hour. they're light but they're drawing in the warm, the humid air mass that's going to produce those heavy downpours with a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. the pressure 30.01-inches. as we look at satellite 6 and action radar right now we can see we've got the clouds in place and here moves the rain. we're also seeing some breaks in the action. so what we're looking at is periods of rain, no the raining as i warned you about constantly all day but periods of rain. we're getting this batch through the morning, maybe after that we get a shower, then we get some more heavy rain moving through and that's the way the day is going to play out. a wider look at action radar you can see the circulation around that area of low pressure to our northwest and here's the frontal boundary that's sneaking through right now and future tracker 6 showing at 4:30 this morning we've got some of those showers. we advance this to 9 o'clock, we see some of those heavy downpours coming through but you get the idea looking at this it's spotty, it's not constant throughout the day. advance this to the lunchtime hours, we're seeing some heavy

rainfall build up especially down the our south. in the evening hours some rain at times on and off and then we look in the overnight hours and we get that push of rain coming through. so, as we look at this, cloudy with showers, periods of rain and we are going to see some localized flooding possible with this heavy rainfall. let's look at your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. periods of rain today. 79 degrees. the rain is going to hold those temperatures down. clouds and some early rain leading to some sunshine tomorrow. it's a day of transition. a high of 83. we could still see some spotty showers at times on wednesday so not a perfect day but getting better. thursday it's nice, it's less humid. we get that sunshine back and a high of 80 degrees. so the rain well long gone. by friday mostly sunny skies starting your weekend off cool for august at 79 degrees. saturday a beautiful day with a high of 82. and lots of sunshine so another winning weekend. it's warmer still on sunday so a little bit something for everybody on the weekend. 88 degrees for your high on

sunday. on monday it's a bit more humid. we're going the look at more clouds mixing with some sunshine and that's your next chance for a shower or a thunderstorm so as you look at the seven day period, today is the wettest, it's not going to rain constantly by but be prepared for it at any point. >> will do. thanks karen. new this morning london police want to find the parents of a child who fell onto a set of subway tracks while strapped into a stroller. surveillance video here shows a man and a woman leaving the child unattended at the bottom of the staircase and that stroll earl rolled off the platform. a woman leaps to the child's rescue and pulls the stroller to safety. police want to find the family to ensure the child was not injured. and new on "action news," a familiar from arizona bust fled a pricey shoplifting spree. some of the thefts were caught on camera. one security guard even tried to stop them but they sprayed him with pepper spray to escape. phoenix police say the five relatives stole more than $15,000 worth of lingerie and
