"action news" is updating the path and timing of the storms. >> good morning. david is off. let's go to karen rogers much she's got her eye on what's going to go on with all that rain and matt pelman is watching traffic. good morning. >> we had warned you today was going to be the wettest day of the seven day period. live double scan showing us the rain has moved in already in parts of our region. we're especially seeing it north of philadelphia and south of philadelphia but it's going to be that kind of day where at any pointer you're going to see a period of rain coming through the area. some heavy near reading right

now so be careful if you're traveling right there. you could tell that when you look at the of yellow double scan's way of showing you it's coming down good. satellite 6 and radar showing you this rain how it moved in early this morning. it's not a solid area of rain. it's going to be on and off periods of rain. you need to anticipate that at any point today because some of it is going to be really heavy. 72 degrees currently in philadelphia, 69 in allentown, 71 in millville. feeling warm, feeling muggy. as the day progresses, the clouds and the rain at times are going to hold the temperatures down to about 79 for your high. by 9:00 a.m. 74. by noon, 77 with rain at any point but not raining constantly all day. by 3:00 p.m., 78 degrees. and i'd say from 3:00 p.m. on straight through midnight will be the time when we have the chance to see some of the heaviest rainfall. by 6:00 p.m., 75 degrees and the storm prediction center has placed parts of our region just west of the city of philadelphia in a slight risk for severe weather even though i think the biggest threat is going to be the rain that could produce flooding, there is a chance for any strong

storms to become severe today matt so a lot going on in the weather. more on the seven-day forecast. >> all right. the umbrella is standing by. we are getting ready. good morning to you, karen rogers, but fill dry at this point, not wet yet here in south philadelphia along 95 and the construction crews are all off to the side so all the southbound lanes have reopened here as you pass enterprise avenue and head toward the airport. you're getting by just fine on 95 with those overnight construction zones clearing out. this is scene in east falls. also still mostly dry here along the roosevelt boulevard extension by ridge avenue but don't forget that northbound between ninth street and adams avenue they're tearing up the inner drive and that construction project that started last night goes until 6 o'clock in the morning. so, for the next half hour, you'll see the blockage of the inner drive. just stick with the outer drive and you should be able to get by okay. a crash in abington along meetinghouse road has cleared but there's still construction on the westbound pennsylvania turnpike near willow grove taking out a couple of lanes there. we have a house fire from the overnight in norristown still

blocking yerkes avenue between noble street and roberts avenue. maybe roberts alley maybe stick with lafayette street or washington street as alternates on this tuesday morning. matt. >> thank you, matt. and developing overnight a night of violence in atlantic city. two shooting incidents in less than an hour left four people injured. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live in atlantic city with more on this. katherine. >> reporter: that's right, matt, four people shot in under an hour overnight in atlantic city. so far atlantic city police haven't released too many details on who they're looking for but they want to hear from you if you have any tips on who might be responsible. this first shooting happened shortly after midnight around 12:10 a.m. outside the schoolhouse apartments located at arctic avenue and north mlk boulevard. three people were shot. they were rushed to the hospital for treatment. police were looking for a burgundy vehicle that fled the scene. then around 12:45 a.m. another man was shot. this one was on the 800 block of north maryland avenue.

he was hit multiple times and taken to the hospital in serious condition. witnesses saw the suspect flee the scene on a bicycle. there's no indication these incidents are connected and also there's no word from police if there's any surveillance video that can help in this investigation. of course call atlantic city police if you have any tips. we're live in atlantic city, katherine scott, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you katherine. the unrest in the saint louis sprush continues as the fbi launches an investigation into the police shooting of an unarmed teen. police in ferguson, missouri, fired tear gas at an unruly crowd last night and arrested five people. protesters want justice for 18-year-old michael brown. police say an officer shot and killed the teen during a struggle on saturday. witnesses claim brown had his hands raised when the officer opened fire. brown's parents say their child did nothing wrong. >> because my son is six-four black male walking down a city street does not mean he fit the profile for any --

anything other than just walking down that street. that's all he was doing. >> no more and we -- >> the naacp held a special meeting yesterday. the organization's president called for peaceful protests overs death. >> legendary comedian and dram platter particular actor robin williams is dead at the age of 63. this morning we take a fond look back at his career as local comedians mourn a man who helped inspire them to break into the business. "action news" reporter erin o'hearn is at the big board with reaction. >> good morning. shocking and tragic news from hollywood. the actor was found in his california home yesterday dead from an apparent suicide. williams was candid about his struggles with addiction and his wife had recently said he was suffering from severe depression. williams had entered rehab just last month. williams had nothing short of a stellar career although the comedic genius generated endless laughs in comedies he also mastered dramatic roles

earning an academy award for goodwill hunting. he launched his career on the small screen playing a goofy alien in the sitcom mork and mindy. throughout the past few decades the iconic star influenced countless comedians including those at center city's helium comedy club. >> he's somebody who i think any comic would always look to especially when we were starting just to see that energy and i think he's somebody who it carried through, it stands the test time the things that he was doing then is still funny. he just always brought that energy to whatever he did. >> he was an icon. i think back to mork and mindy. we grew up with mrs. doubtfire. just his range of energy, the voices. he could do anything from stand up to becoming an entirely different person. definitely something to admire and it's super sad. >> that it is. coming up at 6:30 you'll hear from one of our "action news" photographers who worked with

think anybody would be coming down here to rob people. everybody's very close. it's a very close knit community. >> moorestown police say they have stepped up patrols in the area and suggest that homeowners store their valuables in a safety deposit box at the bank. >> it's not going to rain steadily morning to night but at any point today, you're going to see some heavy downpours. so you have to be prepared for it. let's take a look at storm tracker 6 live double scan around the region and we can see that the rain not a solid blanket but especially north of the city and south of the city in the middle of the city you're getting a little break with just a shower or two. but i want to go in little bit closer to some of the areas getting hit with that heavier rain. we saw it here in reading and now stretching to the north up towards pottsville and nearly a town so you have more heavy rain, some areas that got hit earlier and the area of yellow indicates double rain for us with double scan showing it's north of coatesville. be careful for that.

let's head outside and show you what it looks like. not terribly wet but damp at philadelphia international airport. but you need to watch for that heavy rain. we're going to be seeing it on and off through the day today. let's look at the current temperatures. 72 degrees right now in philadelphia. that dewpoint is up from yesterday showing the more humid air mass, some moisture in the air. the winds out of the southeast at nine and the pressure 30-inches. satellite 6 and action radar showing the clouds in place and there we see how the rain has start d to spread through the region and we can see that it's not a solid area of rain so we are watching for the rain to be at times heavy and you need to be prepared for. that looking right now at future tracker 6 we can see at 9 o'clock in the morning this model picking up some periods of heavy rain here or there through the area. again, at the lunchtime hour, not maybe raining everywhere but showers in some spots. a downpour in the others then its the way the day is going to be but this model picking up some particularly heavy rain especially south of the city of philadelphia and we're seeing this look at the rush

hour about 5:30 and we can see in delaware, in south jersey some heavy rain kind of welling up through the region and straight through into the overnight hours a look at 8 o'clock in the morning and we could see those showers exiting the coastline so we're going to be dealing with this on and off through the day and here's how the temperature profile is going to play out. by 9:00 a.m., 74 degrees. lots of clouds. rain at any point. by noon, 77. i'd say from 3:00 p.m. on is when we're watching for some of the heaviest rain to come through and of course we could see the chance for severe weather as we talked about with this even though i think the biggest threat is the flooding rain, there's a risk for some severe weather west of the city of philadelphia. a high 79 degrees today. at the shore today you really need to be careful. you're going to see some heavy rain at times, although not raining constantly all day. 76 degrees for your high temperature at the shore. here's a look at your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. periods of rain today, some of it will be heavy and we're watching for a gusty storm in one or two places that could be really strong. 79 degrees for your high.

seeing wet conditions along route 100 just south of route 113 close to the pizzeria uno. traffic moving okay as it heads southbound towards exton this morning. during the midday depending on what exactly the showers do in this area, we could see some northbound construction that often slows us down between shown road and worthington drive. scheduled to work from 9:00 until 3:00. all lanes opened and traffic moving okay despite the wet conditions. not as good in springfield township. getting word of a new crash along bethlehem pike at wise avenue. overnight construction on the pennsylvania turnpike is out of the way so that's good news. the east-west portion at least on the northeast extension we still have some work and in norristown there's still this fire location along yerkes avenue been noble street and robert's alley. lafayette street or washington street are some possible alternates. that northeast extension construction still going on northbound past quakertown in the right lane. the southbound zone past quakertown has cleared out so coming south from the lehigh

valley and quakertown headed toward lansdale you're looking pretty good at this point. and over in folsom atlantic county, still watch out for some road work along 322 near route 54. also have a zone along new jersey turnpike. we'll talk more about that tam, coming up. >> thank you so much, matt. new this morning, london police want to find the parents whose child fell onto a set of subway tracks while strapped into a stroller. surveillance shows a man and a woman leaving the child unattended at the bottom of a staircasely the stroller then rolls off the platform. a stranger a woman leaps to the child's rescue and pulls the stroller to safety. >> authorities investigating the deadly race crash involving tony stewart say they have yet to find any evidence of criminal conduct. the nascar star struck and killed fellow driver kevin ward jr. on saturday. ward had gotten out of his car and walked onto the dirt track seemingly to confront stewart. an autopsy confirmed the 20-year-old died of blunt force trauma, the accident.

getting a lot of it today. >> yeah, i guess it's coming our way. but right now roads for the most part are just damp around the region. let's take a look at that video if we can of the roosevelt boulevard. they startd that big construction project last night along the northbound lanes between ninth street and adams avenue tearing up the inner drive. should be out of there within the next 10 minutes. guess we don't have the video but you can get by on the outer drive, that's good news for you and we do still have some construction going on here in salem county on the new jersey turnpike northbound past exit one taking out the left lane. that's lasting until 10 o'clock this morning so that work zone is going to be with i was little while longer. on the mass transit front this morning, good news here. everything is on time this morning on the septa regional rails. karen. >> storm tracker 6 live double scan slowing in philadelphia we're basically dry. you may be seeing a sprinkle but you can see the batch of rain up north and west of the city and down to the south as well so we've got rain here or there. that's the way the day is going to be that we're going to see periods of rain at any point today although it's not raining couldn't standsly.

by 9:00 a.m., 74 degrees. by noon, 77 with some rain or downpours at any point. by 3:00 p.m., 78 degrees. our high today will be 79 and from 3:00 p.m. on we won't expect any of that rain to be particularly heavy. by 6:00 p.m., 75 degrees, still raining at times so we'll be dealing with this for quite awhile and we are under a slight risk for severe weather especially west of the city of philadelphia. if you're traveling you might want to expect delays later today in philadelphia but not seeing them on the board just yet. raining though in spots. in boston 65, it will be more an issue with that rain late tonight and tomorrow in the northeast. chicago 66. charlotte no problems just yet. atlanta, newark and new york city i would expect some delays later tonight but not just yet, tam. >> thank you, karen. the driver involved in the tollbooth crash was driving eastbound on the pennsylvania turnpike before crossing over into the westbound side. that's according to witnesses who saw the collision at the delaware river bridge inner change in bristol yesterday evening. state police say the driver is in the hospital now with head

injuries. ocean county detectives are looking for a man accused of pulling a fast one to get his hands on an expensive watch. authorities say he bought an $8,700 rolex from gold fever on arnold avenue in point pleasant beach back in june. the man gave the clerk a fake i.t. and credit card to finish out the purchase but the credit card company reversed the charges after the card was reported stolen. contact ocean county police if you recognize the man. >> 5:53 now and up next breaking new developments on that deadly ebola outbreak overseas. >> also more news that you didn't see last night including a happy ending for the lehigh valley man after somebody stole the scooter that he relies on to get around. at 6:00 a.m. [prof.burke]why is it smart to talk to farmers for your auto insurance?
