downingtown now stretching along route 100 in pottstown. you're getting really soaked right now and need to be mindful of that because this is lasting through the day today on and off. it's not steady all day long but at any point you want to expect some heavy downpours. looking at satellite 6 and action radar we can see the clouds are in place, the rain is moving in and we've got on and off rain through the day today. the heaviest late in the afternoon into the nighttime hours. 73 degrees right now in philadelphia. 69 in allentown. 72 in millville. it's feeling warm, it's feeling sticky already. here's how the temperatures are going to go. by 9:00 a.m., 74. by noon 77. by 3:00 p.m., 78. our high today will be 79. by 6:00 p.m. coming down from that and 75 degrees. so, not raining steadily all day but at any point you can expect that rain and we are watching for the chance for severe weather. we're not going to see a lot of thunderstorms but any one we do could be strong to severe especially west of the city of philadelphia. so, a lot to watch for in the weather today. i think some of the biggest issues will be the flooding from the heavy downpours and,

matt, that is is this going to affect the roadways. >> oh, that's not such good news. all right. but we'll deal with it. good morning to you karen rogers. we also have been dealing with this new construction zone and talking about it on the roosevelt boulevard. northbound side. so they had the cones set up here overnight as traffic headed north towards ninth street. well, just now there's been an accident in the northbound lanes headed into that construction zone. couple vehicles involved here and at the moment they have all northbound traffic stopped along route 1, the roosevelt boulevard right here underneath broad street. so, if this is normally your route, boulevard northbound, might want to stick with hunting park avenue or perhaps the lincoln drive northbound instead this morning and we'll keep you posted. boulevard northbound blocked at the moment because of a crash headed into that new work zone. on the big picture you see that and some speeds that still don't look too bad at this point along 95 and the schuylkill expressway. there's also a crash in springfield township montgomery county. it's along bethlehem pike at

wise avenue. looking okay on the pennsylvania turnpike. many roads are damp. not really dealing with really wet conditions in most areas. there is a fire to watch out for in norristown along yerkes avenue. that's blocked off. maybe stick with washington street or lafayette street at some alternates. here's 42 in camden county. overnight construction zones here are gone and northbound no big delays yet headed toward 295. tam. >> okay, thank you, matt. well, developing this morning a beautiful night in atlantic city was marred by gun violence. at least four people were shot in less than an hour. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live in atlantic city and she's got more details. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. that's right, four people shot in two different shootings overnight in atlantic city. now atlantic city police are looking for tips to try to lead them to the people responsible for this. that first shooting happened shortly after midnight around 12:10 a.m. outside the entrance of the school louse apartments which are located

at arctic avenue and north mlk boulevard. three people were shot, all three were rushed to the hospital for treatment and police were looking for a burgundy vehicle that fled the scene. then around 12:45 a.m. another man was shot but this time on the 800 block of north maryland avenue. he was hit multiple times in his lower extremities. he was taken to the hospital in serious condition. witnesses saw the suspect flee the scene on a bicycle. there's no indication these incidents are connected but atlantic city police are looking for tips, so if you have any information that can help in this investigation, be sure to call them. we're live in atlantic city, katherine scott, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you, katherine. hollywood is mourning the sudden loss of actor and comedian robin williams. the 63-year-old williams died yesterday at his home in northern california. the coroner ruled it a suicide by asphyxiation. williams' press aide revealed he had been battling severe depression. he announced last month he was

depression. >> new at 6:00 a.m., a lehigh valley man has a stolen scooter back and it will make all the difference in his quality of life. the motorized equipment had been missing since sunday. jason suffers from cerebral palsy and needs the scooter to get to work. fortunately someone discovered it yesterday in an allentown backyard. police don't flo how it got there. the $3,000 custom built scooter is damaged but in working condition. >> atlantic city is desperate the find a way to prevent a mass exodus of jobs from the with thing casino industry and officials know one option is off the table. stacey delikat is filling in for maribel aber and joins us. >> reporter: new jersey regulators say there's little they can do to stop the closing of atlantic city casinos. state lawmakers want regulators to force the showboat and trump plaza to stay open past their closing

dates but the new jersey casino control commission says they don't have the authority to do so. both are expected to close over the few weeks and revel is up for auction this thursday. in other news the u.s. postal service lost almost $2 billion last quarter. it comes despite a gain in revenue from price increases an focus on shipping packages but operating expenses soared more than 9% and the rising expenses comes from higher benefit and compensation costs. turning to the market, stocks ended slightly higher monday as investors slugged off tensions overseas. right now futures are pointing to a higher open. there are no major economic reports due out today. and finally this morning the fans have spoken and burger king listened. the fast food chain is bringing back chicken fries after seeing petitions and pleas for their return on social medial the fries are available nationwide but only for a limited time. burger king discontinued those chicken fries back in 2012 despite the cult following that had developed around the

product. so, if you're a fan, now is the time to go out and get 'em. matt and tam. >> chicken fries. >> chicken fries. >> i don't remember those. >> i don't, either. >> i remember the potatoes being used for fridays. >> my kids were begging for them. sounds like something they would want. let's take a look at storm tracker 6 live double scan around the region right now and you can see that we've got rain through parts of the region although just a little bit damp in the city itself. some heavy rain north and south of the city am i want to go in a little closer to one area that's getting hit. you can see this in pottstown, not only yellow but a little hint of red developing showing us some really good downpours if you're traveling right now along route 100 you want to watch for this. this is the kind of day it's going to be with a period of rain here there, not raining constantly. let's go outside and show you what it's looking like right now. not too pretty. seeing mostly cloudy skies out there today. it's humid. you're certainly feeling that will out there today. just a little bit damp in the city but wet in other areas.

currently 73 degrees in philadelphia. the dewpoint is way up there from yesterday. you're feeling the humidity out there and a sign of the moisture in the atmosphere. the winds out of the east-southeast pulling up that moist atmosphere at 9 miles an hour. the pressure 29.99-inches. satellite 6 and action radar showing we have the clouds in place. there moves the rain and from this shot you get the idea it's not going the rain constantly all day. we're looking at a batch coming through now and showers here or there. the front is to the west and it will be awhile before that actually crosses our region. so future tracker 6 kind of timing this out and it's hard to time exactly. i think you need to be prepared for rain at any point but this gives you an idea of the flavor of the day. by 9 o'clock in the morning looking at downpours kind of here or there through the region. by it lunchtime hours, showers and in some spots downpours here or there. in the afternoon this particular model picking up heavier rain especially south of the city of philadelphia and we talked about the fact that west of the city you have the chance for a gusty thunderstorm that could be severe.

so we're watching this develop in the evening hours and even through the overnight hours we're getting some heavy downpours at times before that front comes through. this is a look at 7 o'clock tomorrow morning so you could see even tomorrow morning we're dealing with some leftover rain before clouds will break for you. here's how the temperatures are going to play out today. by 9:00 a.m., 74. by noon, 77. period of rain at any point. but the chance for that less as we saw on that model probably from about 3:00 p.m. out through the nighttime hours. the high 79 degrees. at the shore today, you really need to be careful. at times you're going to get that heavy rain and periods of rain today, 76 degrees at the shore. here's a look at your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. periods of rain on and off, not raining constantly but could happen at any points and that's going to hold the temperatures down to about 79 degrees. tomorrow we start off wet with clouds and then we get some sunshine but we could see a spotty shower at any point, a day that will be mostly dry, 83 degrees. then thursday is really nice. less humid, 80 degrees, lots of sunshine.

know you kind of have to do the merge to get out of the lane that's blocked so a couple people ran into each other. here northbound on the boulevard right underneath broad street, we have emergency crews on the scene and unfortunately at the moment they're blocking all the northbound lanes. all shut down. so, let's pull in the commuter report and the waze app where we're clocking speeds of just 11 miles per hour headed toward that blockage point but as we look at some of the alternates like hunting park avenue right there, no problems reported along there. that's nice and clear at this point. you could use that instead or you could head over to the lincoln drive. that runs right up there through fairmount park. it's looking good. take that to johnson street, maybe up to germantown avenue to get around the blockage at the boulevard and, of course, we're now -- where now speeds are just around 5 miles per hour. we'll keep you posted on the happenings there. in springfield township crash along beth ham pike on wise avenue. looking okay on the pennsylvania turnpike's east-west portion. past quakertown there's a work

zone taking out one lane. still have that fire location in norristown blocking off yerkes avenue. stick with washington street or lafayette street as some alternates. also we have a construction zone in salem county on the new jersey turnpike northbound just past the delaware memorial bridge. left lane out of commission there until about 10:00 this morning and in delaware, so far so good. of course 495 northbound remains closed but as you detour on 95 north we're on time at this point. matt. >> thank you, matt. it was the second night of unrest in ferguson, missouri where an unarmed teen was fatally shot by an officer over the weekend. police used tear gas and rubber bullets to try to disperse a cloud last night. 18-year-old michael brown was shot and killed in a struggle with an officer on saturday. police say brown had reached for an officer's gun when he was shot. witnesses claim brown had his hands up in the air. the fbi says it will investigate the shooting. >> turning nothing to the crisis in iraq, more aid is on the way for thousands of people trapped on a mountain top in northern iraq.

good morning. >> good morning. feeling a little bit damp and humid out here right now in philadelphia but i want to show you storm tracker 6 live double scan because parts our region getting hit with this rain. we can see the showers down to the south but it's a little heavier as you look to the north and we can tell that with double scan because we've got the different shading there, the areas of yellow. even a hint of red and the areas that are getting hit by the downpours the same areas throughout much of the morning. pottstown continues to get lam erred along route 100. stretching up through allentown along 222, you need to be careful of that but this is just the beginning of the rain that will be pushing through the area on and off today. let's take a look right now at satellite 6 and action radar. you see the clouds in place, rain starting to move in at this point and we'll be dealing with this for a little while. though it's not raining constantly through the day. the clouds rain going to hold the temperatures down so 73 degrees right now in philadelphia with a bit of a breeze. here's how the temperatures are going to go. by 9:00 a.m., 74. rain and in some spots.

sedbedt ri or hhiessown, montgomery county. the fire started around 4:30 this morning on the 900 block of yerkes road. one person suffered a shoulder injury, a second suffered smoke inhalation. all three people who were hurt, they're now in stable condition and that fire damaged at least two homes. legendary comedian and dramatic actor robin williams is dead at the age of 63 and this morning we take a fond look back at his career including one film with a special connection to our area. maryland avenue. he was hit multiple times in his lower extremities and taken to the hospital in serious condition. witnesses saw the suspect flee the scene on a bicycle. there's no indication these incidents are connected and no word if there's any surveillance video that can help in this investigation but again if you have any tips atlantic city police want to hear from you. we're live in atlantic city, katherine scott channel6 "action news. >> thank you. police in south jersey investigateing a spree of burglaries in the latest break in the bandit made avenue with a safe that contained $200,000 worth of jewels. police say the burglary is just one of a half dozen in the past two months. authorities say bandits stole $60,000 worth of jewelry from another moorestown home last week. moorestown police say they have stepped up patrols and suggest that homeowners store their valuables in a safe deposit box at the bank. >> time to talk accuweather. it's a day to make sure you keep the umbrella handy.

may look like you don't need it and then 30 minutes later you say i wish i had it. >> yeah i think it will be cloudy all day with periods of rain on and off so, you know, at any point you need to expect those downpours. let's take a look at storm tracker 6 live double scan around the region right now and we can see in philadelphia just a little sprinkle or feeling a little damp but some rain to the south, mostly showers. the rain to the north is heavier in just a couple spots am i want to go in closer with our street level view and with double scan you can tell exactly where you'reetting the heaviest rain, the same spot all morning going right through pottstown along route 100 that area of yellow showing pretty good downpours along 222 headed up west of allentown so be careful if you're traveling in and around that region right now. let's go on outside. we'll see what it looks like. we're down in cape may looking live at the shore in hd after a gorgeous three or four days in cape may, new jersey, you could see the clouds are up above and you're going to get some heavy rain at times although not looking too bad at this point in cape may. we've got the clouds and getting damp.

let's look at the temperatures. 73 degrees right now. that dewpoint 67. it's feeling more humid than it was yesterday. and more moisture obviously in the atmosphere. the winds out of the east-southeast at nine and the pressure 29.99-inches. it's been dropping. satellite 6 and action radar showing the clouds in place and there we can see the rain that is really moved in. and you can see from this that it's not a solid area completely. it's not as if it's starting raining and it's not going to ends until later but on and off at any point today you want to expect these showers or a period of heavy rain today. and as we look at future tracker 6 this model showing at 9 o'clock this morning some areas here or there peppered through the region of some heavy downpours and at the lunchtime hour maybe showers in some spots, a downpour in another here or there through the region and this model picking up some particularly heavy rain south of the city. so we'll be watching for that. this is a look at your drive time this evening about 6 o'clock. and we're watching for that moving through the area and the actual front doesn't come through until well into the overnight hours into tomorrow

bridge on into girard avenue. our crash that we had in the brands new work zone on the roosevelt boulevard northbound side by broad street is gone. most of the slowing thinned out there as well. we are watching a crash in bala cynwyd along belmont avenue at saint asaph there on the backside of the gsb building and in another work zone, things just got under way just yesterday. this spring garden street the bridge over the schuylkill river and the schuylkill expressway. they started a new paving project here yesterday with restrictions during the during e daytime but as you can see right here [inaudible] >> actually matt, i think i'll take it now. new here at 6:30 at least three people were killed when this construction site collapsed in thailand. the unfinished six story building came crashing down on 30 crew members. some of them may still be trapped thunder debris and the cause of the collapse is still under investigation. also new this morning, london police want to find the

parents whose child fell onto a set of subway tracks while strapped into a stroller. surveillance shows a man and a woman leaving the child unattended at the bottom of a staircase. the stroller then rolls off the platform. a woman leaps to the child's rescue and pulls the stroller to safety. >> authorities investigating the deadly race crash involving tony stewart say they have yet to find any evidence of criminal conduct. the nascar star struck and killed fellow driver kevin ward jr. on saturday. ward will gotten out of his car and walked onto the dirt track seemingly to confront stewart. an autopsy confirmed the 20-year-old died of blunt force trauma related to their crash. since skipping a race on sunday stewart has canceled even more events in the wake of the crash. >> 6:46 now. we've been looking back at the life and legacy of robin williams here and "action news." in a special edition of "good morning america" is coming up with more on the late actor and comedian. a lifey preview is just ahead.

farther east here's the scene along where it's slowing from the saint gabriel's curve to this point at trooper on into route 23. new crash in norristown to avoid just getting word of this along markley street at robert street and of course yerkes of a still blocked because of that every night fire. in worcester there's the wreck along skippack pike at valley forge road by the exxon station but the one in springfield township on bethlehem pike is gone. karen. >> rain just beginning right now. you can see storm tracker 6 live double scan not a lot in center city itself but especially north and west of the city we have some showers, even a couple of downpours with that. going to be that kind of day at any point today. we could see some heavy downpours and periods of rain. by 9:00 a.m., 74. by noon, 77, the clouds, the periods of rain going to hold the temperatures down. our high today 79. by 3:00 p.m. coming down from that at 78. by 6:00 p.m., 75. any time from about 3 o'clock on through until midnight we could see some of our heaviest rain moving through the area. so that could be concerned as you're traveling in you're out of town you need to be careful
