largest glacier. there have been thousands of small earthquakes in the area this week leading scientists to raise alert about a possible eruption there. more than 100,000 flights were canceled in 2010 when ash from a different volcano in iceland disrupted flight paths all over the atlantic. a tornado touched down outside detroit causing damage before blowing out of the area. sirens warned the funnel cloud was approaching withinds clocking about 75 miles an hour. it blew branches offrees and flipped a few vehicles over. and severe weather also tore across central tennessee outside knoxville uprooting trees, damaging homes and knocking down power lines. some residents were even trapped inside their homes. but with no wet weather in today's forecast repairs and cleanup will go much faster. there will be some stormy weather though. let's take a look. showers and thunderstorms will stretch across most of the northern u.s. today from the upper midwest through the ohio

welcome back. well, u.p.s. is warning that some of its customers' credit and debit information may have been exposed by a computer virus. 100,000 transactions between january 20th and august 11th are at risk but a not related to any fraud. an outside security firm found the virus at 51 u.p.s. stores nationwide. more fallout from target's massive data breach sinking profits. the retailer's new earnings report says earnings dropped by nearly 62% from the year before. target also lowered its annual profit outlook for the second time in three months. its shares are down almost 13%

over the past year. bank of america is set to announce today that it will pay a record fine of nearly $17 billion over accusations it sold faulty mortgage-backed securities. about 7 billion of that fee will go to consumers in the form of modified home loans and refinanced mortgages. hostess says it's closing the original twinkie factory in illinois where twinkies have been baked for 84 years. the company blames a drop in demand for twinkies after a flood of cheaper twinkie kno knockoffs hit the market. some union workers suspect a different motive. about 400 jobs will be affected. the company still has three other bakeries producing the treats. from twinkies no the tooth fairy she's tightening her purse strings leaving an average of 8% less this year last last year, $3.40 a tooth and she used to be a lot more generous 40 years ago. back in 1975 she usually left kids the equivalent of $4.27 a tooth. >> changing times.
