be a bad day, this afternoon we're expecting a little bit of sunshine. not too terribly bad, i know a lot of you like to see full sun on the weekend. we have a band of showers pushing through. that's the center city skyline as we arrive on sky6 live hd. there's the view on storm tracker 6 live double scan, there's the band of showers moving into the lehigh valley into our northwestern suburbs and crossing over the delaware valley into portions of south jersey. every now and then you pick up a pocket of heavier rain for the most part this is on the lighter side. temperature are cool, 62 degrees, manners creek, 62. saint davis 65. chester and center city, 6. glass borough, 70. cinnaminson, 67. buena, 71, woodbine, 68 degrees, the day planner looks like, a lot of clouds. it will be hard to shake the clouds. 78 degrees, this afternoon, mainly cloudy there can be a spritz or sprinkle, but you

could see sunshine from time to time, as well. it would be very limited. 74 degrees by lunchtime, we top out at 77. we're calling it a 50/50 weekend. tomorrow is the better day. we're watching the tropics, some of the forecast models have this closing in on florida by tuesday. they suggest it could be as strong as a category 2 hurricane. when i come back we'll talk about that in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. >> a 78-year-old woman turned the tables on her son when he tried to shoot her inside her own home. the action cam was in germantown last night. the 45-year-old man opened fire at his mother a9:00 p.m. last night, but the mother picked up a gun and returned fire wounding the man in the stomach. he is in critical condition. there's no word on why the son tried to shoot his mothe

philadelphia vrnl -- international airport. we have clouds off to the west. later this afternoon you could see a little bit of sunshine. it's going to be a mainly cloudy day. we'll zoom into aerials west of the city. phoenixville, norristown, reporting light rain. every now and then we start to see a moderate cell embedded in this. you can see the yellows and oranges. if you're traveling east or westbound on the pennsylvania turnpike or 202 it's getting wet. if you're heading north towards limerick and pottstown you're seeing light to occasionally moderate rain. that's the last of it, everything is pushing from northwest to southeast and should continue to do so rapidly. so, from, let's say, 10:00, 11:00 on, we'll see cloudy conditions with occasional spritzes or sprinkles. allentown, 65. on the boardwalk in atlantic city, 73. millville, 71.

here's future tracker 6, later this afternoon, mostly cloudy skies, the model is hinting toward sunshine from time to time. there could be a pop-up shower around, as well. it's not looking like a wash. later this evening, cloudy conditions overnight tonight the clouds begin to decrease as the frontal system that is currently stalled around the baltimore, washington, d.c. area that will push to the south. it will take most of the cloud cover along wilt. tomorrow promises to be a much nicer day as the high pressure buildings in. today the winds out of the east/northeast. lots of clouds, a spritz or sprinkle this afternoon. tomorrow the high closes in sits over top of us. temperatures will respond we'll see lower temperatures with the cloud cover, tomorrow warmer in the 80s. monday, 83, or 84. the problem will be this area of high pressure as we take a look

at the tropics here, that high is closing in. it's kind of shutting the door to the north. the question will be what happens with this cluster of thunderstorms. here's the dominican republic, the about bahama chain is rights the tip of florida. hurricane hunters are seeing winds gusting 45 to 55 miles per hour and torrential downpours. some of the forecast models take this thing, once it's over the water again, some of the models take it this we, makes the left hand turn toward the tip of florida. other models take it out to sea. the reason there's so much of a difference right now they don't know how to handle the high, if it will push it this way or take it that way. if you're vacationing around this area in the next couple of days, you have to watch what
