we'll catch up later. first we'll get the accuweather forecast with mr. david murphy. >> hi, tam. >> hi, david. >> saw matt yesterday. we've got cloud cover overnight that could not hold it together in the low humidity air mass that's still in place this morning. it's warm. 70 degrees but clear skies, lots of stars out right now and the promise of plenty of sunshine just like yesterday morning. 61 degrees in allentown, 64 in reading, 62 trenton, 61 in millville and a little bit warmer down the shore. upper 60's right now in both sea isle city and up the coast in atlantic city. as you head outside, 68 by 6 o'clock, about 71 by 8:00 a.m. mainly clear and fairly comfortable early today and as we roll through the day it's going to be warm. just a little bit warmer than yesterday in fact. 74 by 9 o'clock, 82 by noon and your high today probably hits around 3 o'clock, 87 degrees and by 6 o'clock, 83 and it might feel just a tad humid late in the day but humidity overall still

behaving itself. that changes tomorrow. details in the seven day. >> thank you david. well, the first day of school turned into a cause for panic for some students in wilmington. their bus didn't get them home until three hours after their scheduled drop-off. "action news" reporter erin o'hearn is in the satellite center. she's got the details. we've both got little guys. that would not be a great first day. >> reporter: no, it sure wouldn't, tam. for these kindergarteners summer ended and school began with a day that didn't seem to end. after hours of worrying parents were reunited with their children at 7 o'clock last night. this happened at a school located along the 1200 block of north market street in wilmington. about a dozen, five and six year olds were supposed to be dropped off at designated bus stops or after care centers just before 4 o'clock but when the bus was no-show parents called police. school officials blame the delay on a transportation

mixup. >> there were some changes with the transportation that we're trying to resolve at this moment and like i mentioned it's the first day of school so we'll have it resolved by tomorrow. >> we was worried. we didn't know where was the kids. they kindergarten and first graders. >> reporter: a long day for those little guys. again police were called but no charges have been filed and as you heard school officials promised that this will be ironed out by today but certainly a very stressful day for those little children and their parents. matt, back to you. >> thanks so much erin. new here on "action news," gunfire erupting in west philadelphia overnight. the action cam was at the at the scene 56th street and wyalusing avenue just before 2:00 a.m. police tell us the victim was being taken to lankenau hospital in a private vehicle when police stepped in and took him the rest of the way. the victim had bullet fragments in his beard we are told and was not seriously

injured. the shooter is still at large. also new on "action news," former fbi director louis freeh is recovering from a serious car crash in vermont. this is what is left of freeh's suv. it struck a mailbox a-row of shrubs and slammed into a tree in barnard yesterday. freeh was the only person in the suv at the time. no other vehicles were involved. police say the 64-year-old freeh broke at least one of his legs and required surgery. in 2012 freeh penned the scathing report on penn state's conduct of the jerry sandusky scandal. the cause of his accident is under investigation. >> the mayor of lakewood new jersey will get an update on the efforts to bring back a student feared kidnapped in israel. 23-year-old aaron soar was last seen on friday heading for a hike in jerusalem: new jersey lawmakers have been working to secure the student's safe homecoming

since the report first surfaced. >> search is on for the person who shot at a house in delaware county. one of the flying bullets just missed a crib where a toddler was sleeping. it happened at sixth and walnut streets in darby borough sunday night. police say two men were firing weapons in front of the boathouse two apartments. a 9-millimeter bullet went through a window, then through this wall landing just inches from the crib. the three-year-old who was sleeping, the great grandson of darby council president janice davis is okay. the gunman fled the scene. we'll have a live report in the next half hour of "action news." >> the trial continues today for the woman accused of abducting a five-year-old girl from her west philadelphia classroom. meanwhile the victim who is now seven is preparing to testify. christina ragust err is accused of disguising herself in muslim clothing and posing as the girl's mother to abduct

the child. the child was later sexually assaulted. the attacks were so severe the victim was force d to wear a cool lost mee bag for months enduring several surgeries. yesterday the child believe she was assaulted by a man but the prosecutors say regusters is the attacker. >> the drunk uncle. 58 year old clarence hairston is charged with dui. police say they spotted his car driving erratically on saturday. they followed him back to home and noticed his eight-year-old nephew sitting in his lap steering and noticed hairston with a beer can in his hand a9-year-old child was unbuckled in the back seat. >> the guy is a total moron is the best way to describe him. puts them in harm's way but then who else in the neighborhood? he almost hit a parked car. it's a highly residential area.

>> hairston's bail has been set at $15,000. neither of the children were hurt. a landmark philadelphia bookstore will get a new lease on life as as a secondhand stor. giovanni's room had been the nation's oldest gay and lesbian bookstore. it closed back in may mid financial trouble from online competition. the philly aids thrift says will it take over signing a two year lease. the site will reopen next month still selling books but also housewares and vintage clothing. proceeds will benefit local hiv/aids charities. >> taking that first look at business, what is going on in philadelphia? drivers here get into more crashes than drivers in all of america's largest cities. allstate insurance says the average driver in philadelphia will crash every six years and they're 61 percent more like to crash than the average american. more people are making their credit card payments on time. transunion says the rate of

payments at least 90 days overdue fell more than 1 percent from april to june. that's the lowest level in seven years. stocks were up on wall street monday with the s & p finishing three points shy of 2,000. right now futures look like they're pointing to a mixed open. we have yet another t-shirt that somebody thinks you should spend a lot of money for. this is from ralph lauren. it's a new high tech t-shirt and it has sensors that monitor heartbeat breathing even stress levels. it's making its debut right now at the u.s. open. no word on exactly how much they'll cost when they hit the market matt but i'm betting they won't be cheap. >> i wonder if you can put it in the spin cycle, too. >> ly proly not. >> thank you. mo'ne davis and the taney dragons put philadelphia youth sports in the national spotlight and espn is continuing that trend with a local football team. our sister sports network will be focusing on the football program at martin luther king jr. high school as it embarks on hell week. it is an annual camp where

cover tried to sweep in overnight but it's just melting off the map because of dry air in place and high pressure overhead today. as we roll through the day it is going to be warm again. 71 degrees under the sun by 8 o'clock. 79 degrees by 11 o'clock and then by 2 o'clock, 86 degrees. your high of 87 probably around 3:00 and pretty much the same story at 5 o'clock, mid 80's and pretty sweaty out there. high temperatures across the region are warm. 88 in reading, 87 in allentown, 87 in wilmington. pretty much the same story in trenton over towards toms river. 85 in millville and we'll stop at about 80 degrees along the coast in cape may and atlantic city. heading to the ball game tonight? phillies won last night against the mighty nationals. they'll take them on again tonight, mostly clear and pleasant 79 degrees for the first pitch and 71 in the ninth inning, perhaps a tad humid but not too bad. tomorrow it looks like we'll start out with plenty of sunshine. late in the day and the evening, though, we will be on the lookout for the potential of an isolated shower or thunderstorm. these will try and break down

out of the northern and western suburbs in the evening. and to the tropics we go. hurricane cristobal, this did become a category one hurricane last night is now moving a little more out into the ocean. still looks like it will take that track probably splitting the difference between bermudian our coastline. no big affects along our coastline except for the increase in rip currents and i can see that happening today, tomorrow, maybe thursday as well. if you're down the shore be careful in the water, swim near your lifeguards. here's your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, 87 today. urban centers hotter than that. tomorrow hot and humid, 991 degrees. on thursday, though, that system is out of here, we're breezy and nice a-high of 82. looks like a gorgeous evening for eagles football at lincoln financial field. the game is here on 6abc. if you can't be there. partly sunny on friday, 81, another nice one but over the weekends the humidity starts to creep back in and those temperatures rise too.

no major problems if you're getting to the airport this morning. matt. >> let's talk about that airport, tam. thanks so much. 4:50 just about, it's tuesday morning. maybe you set up some summer vacation late in the season and you're going to, say, i don't know, bermuda, out there in the middle of the atlantic ocean. want to get you aware of something going on with cristobal. david murphy is going to continue tracking it. this is a hurricane now that's going to go through the atlantic ocean, go up through this area right here. there's bermuda right there. so this could have an impact on flights and maybe some vacation plans in bermuda on thursday and friday but again, it's a long way off and so david murphy will talk more about that but i just want d to mention it to you if you have some travel plans going out there. so bermuda up here on the big board along with miami seeing some thundershower activity there today as well as houston, also chicago and detroit. dallas looks good as well as minneapolis saint paul in terms of flying. out here in the west, salt lake city, denver and phoenix all could see some thundershower activity today. however, las vegas, nevada,
