lots of sunshine expected today because of an area of high pressure that's really building right over us. winds are going to be light f we get any kind of afloat all it will tend to be out of the south and that might make things just slightly more humid this afternoon but it's not going to be terrible. temperatures this morning are pretty nice. we've slipped to 59 degrees in allentown, so cool and comfortable in the lehigh valley, 62 in reading, 65 in wilmington. still 70 in philadelphia and low 70's up and down the boardwalks of south jersey. as we head outside this morning, it's going to stay on the comfortable side. 68 degrees and a lot -- in a the love suburbs by 6:00 a.m. philadelphia probably still in the upper 60's or around 70 and 71 degrees by 8 o'clock, mainly clear feeling pretty good to start out. as we roll through the day it is going to be another sunny warm one. 74 degrees by 9 o'clock, 82 by noon and your high today, 3 o'clock, 87 degrees. we'll still be in the low 80's by 6 o'clock. lots of sun. just a little bit humid as we go through the day. matt pelman, the humidity and heat get turned up a little bit higher tomorrow. i'll have details coming up in

that seven day, okay. >> so, what you're saying is august might actually feel like august. >> for like a couple days. >> crazy concept. good morning to you, david. good morning everybody. got a bad crash this morning in christiana, delaware, involving an overturned vehicle and it's blocking one of those new flyover ramps. it's the ramp from highway 1 northbound to 95 and 495. we're getting some more details on the exact location of this. it sounds like you can use the ramp to 95 and 295 to get by but the one from 95 to 495 is closed or if you want to avoid it entirely, as you're coming north on highway 1, maybe exit for 13 and run that north into new castle or you could exit at 273 and take that up to 95 northbound. couple options for you there in the first state this morning. meanwhile in clayton, gloucester county we're watching a water main break this morning along delsea drive, northbound side approaching high street. the traffic shifted because of the water on the roadway there. here's our good buddy ben, the ben franklin bridge and once again this morning, only three westbound lanes are available

coming into center city. that right lane out of commission for construction and that did cause delays yesterday. but so far this morning no delays here on i-76, the schuylkill expressway close to spring garden street moving just fine and the mlk drive right here is reopened after overnight construction. it will close again tonight starting at 9:00 p.m. meanwhile in colmar montgomery county there was an overnight crash that closed 309 southbound. still blocked between line lexington and trewigtown roads. county line road gets you around that one. tam. >> okay, thank you, matt. some students in delaware were not the only ones with first day jitters yesterday. their parents were in a panic when about a dozen students didn't get dropped off until 7 o'clock at night. "action news" reporter erin o'hearn is live in the satellite center with more on the story. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tam l for these kindergarteners the summer ended and school began with a first day that didn't seem to end after hours of worrying parents were finally reunited with their children around 7 o'clock last night.

now this all happened at the academia antonio alonzo school on the 1200 block of north market street in wilmington. about a dozen, five and six year olds were supposed to be dropped off at a designated bus stop or some day-care centers just before 4 o'clock but the bus was a no show and and parents got worried of course and called police right away. school officials blame the delay on a transportation mixup. >> there were some changes with the transportation that we're trying to solve at this moment. it was the first day of school and we'll have it resolved by tomorrow. >> we was worried, you know. we didn't know where was the kids. they kinder and first graders. it's unacceptable. >> reporter: certainly those parents were extremely worried about their children. police were called as we said but no charges have been filed and school officials, as you heard, promise to iron out any problems by today. i'm erin o'hearn live in the

sat center. tam, back to you. >> erin we hope today is a lot smoother for them. a shooting in west philadelphia sent one man to the hospital with bullet fragments stuck in his beard. he was also directly hit by the gun shots. shots were fired around 1:30 this morning at 56th street and wyalusing. no arrests have been made. >> new on "action news" former fbi director louis freeh is recovering from a serious car crash in vermont. this is what is left of freeh's suv. it struck a mailbox, a row of shrubs and slammed into a tree in barnard yesterday. freeh was the only person in the suv at the time and no other vehicles were involved. police say the 64-year-old freeh broke at least one of his legs and required surgery. in 2012 freeh penned the scathing report on penn state's handling of the jerry sandusky child sex scandal. the cause of the crash is under investigation. and happening today, several top lawmakers of an ocean county town will give us an update this morning about the efforts to bring back a

student from israel who some fear has been kidnapped. 23-year-old aaron sofer of lakewood new jersey was last seen on friday heading for a hike in jerusalem with his friends. the pair were separated. israeli police have confirmed they've launched an extensive for sofer. he's an ultra orthodox student at yeshiva. a flying bullet missed a crib where a toddler was sleeping much it happened on sunday night on sixth and walnut streets in darby borough. a bullet crashed through a window and landd in a wall inchs from a child. we'll have a live report coming up in our next half hour. >> upper darby police dubbed one suspect a drunk uncle after he put a nephew behind the wheel. clarence hairston is charged with dui after police spotted

his car driving erratically on saturday. officers followed him back to his home and that's when they noticed his eight year old nephew in his lap steering the wheel. police say hairston had a beer can in his hand. another nine-year-old child was unbuckled in the back seat. >> the guy's a total moron is the best way to describe him. puts them in harm's way but then who else in the neighborhood? i mean, he almost hit a parked car. it's a highly residential area. >> hairston remains behind bars. neither of the boys were hurt. >> 5:36 now and new on "action news," we are learning more about a flight from newark, new jersey, to denver that had to be diverted because of a ruckus over leg room. the midair meltdown happened on sunday. a passenger had hooked up a knee defender device to his tray table that prevented the woman in front of him from reclining. in response witnesses say the woman tossed a cup of water in his face. the united pilot decide d to make an unscheduled stop at slick's o'hare international because of this.

if you can get to class before then you're good but by 11 o'clock you're up to 79 degrees, almost 80 and we'll be into the 80's by lunchtime. 86 by 2:00. your high of 87 at 3 o'clock this afternoon. pretty toasty during the afternoon as you're walking around and 85 degrees by 5 o'clock. just a little bit on the humid side potentially but not oppressive. 87 in philadelphia, same thing in allentown and wilmington. a couple of spots might go a little higher. we'll go 88 in reading and it looks like about 80 down the shore on the beach. pretty nice day once again down along our jersey and delaware beach fronts. for the phillies tonight looking good weather-wise, mostly clear, pleasant, 79 for the first pitch, 71 in the ninth inning. phillies got one from the nationals last night. we'll see what happens tonight. then we go into tomorrow and future tracker 6 shows that you once again there's not going to be a lot of clouds around until late in the day or evening when we will be looking at a band of showers coming in from the west. most of these will fall apart as they head towards philadelphia but tomorrow especially in the evening there is that chance of a spotty showers or a

thunderstorm. hurricane cristobal became a category one hurricane last night. looks like it will take that track well off our coast. if you have travel plans to bermuda keep an eye on the storm. the late of the tracks have the storm farther away from bermuda. the issue for us will be rip currents as that storm passes by off the coast. if you're down the shore pay attention to your lifeguards and remember you always swim parallel to the beach to get out of a rip current. your exclusive accuweather 7-day, 87 degrees, sunny, very warm today, maybe just a little bit humid, no the too bad andy in that regard, though. tomorrow hotter and more humid a-high of 91 degrees. it will feel stickier out there. there's the chance of that being mostly at night, that thunderstorm popping up, okay, just a spotty thunderstorm or two tomorrow night. looks like that system is gone in time for thursday. it's breezy, much nicer highs probably in the low 80's and then partly sunny on friday, 81. looks like a nice night for football at lincoln financial field on thursday. as we get into the holiday
