joins us, david is off and we have karen rogers with the forecast. >> reporter: good morning, storm tracker 6 live double scan shows we're not entirely dry in the region. we have showers and thunderstorms downingtown and coatesville. in speed well, ocean county, new jersey, we can see a shower there, as well. the heavy stuff is pushed out of there. so is the widespread activity. let's look at satellite and radar, you can see those line of storms that moved through late last night and ending right now, left with a lot of the cloud cover in its wake and spotty showers here and there. we're not going to see the same widespread activity later today. we will not see the number of storms we saw yesterday in the overnight hours. 74 degrees in philadelphia. 782 in allentown. 73 in millville and the

boardwalk in ac. as you look at the day ahead it will feature clouds and sunshine and warm and humid. him with the humidity it will feel hotter than that. him we're watching for a a few thunderstorms after a morning sprinkle. we'll have the details in a few minutes. >> a community is heart broken by locals, three students from a bucks county high school died in a crash in the poconos over the weekend. counselors will be on hand to offer counseling for students who are struggling with the event. ryan lesher, seamus digney, and cullen keffer. all were incoming sophomore ryan lesher was remembered sunday at the lutheren church.

all the way down, if you look closer, you canning see where the lights have fallen dark on the showboat. hotel guests were told to be out of the hotel and casino at 4:00 p.m. also out are thousands of employees. >> it's ashame. >> reporter: down on its luck the showboat casino closed its door for good. it's the first of three casinos shutting down in atlantic city over a 3 week span. >> i've been coming here for 30 years i'm very upset. >> reporter: regulars came recall the way from florida to say farewell. >> it's a family, it's like being a family. everybody knows your name. >> reporter: employees shared hugs and took pictures together on the gambling hall always final day. >> mike has been working in valet for 30 years. >> i've been here 27 years.

>> reporter: come tuesday, atlantic city's tallest building will be closed. revel casino and hotel was thought to be the future of this seaside gambling town, after two years the resort is bankrupt. meanwhile, thrump plaza is -- trump plaza is scheduled to go dark september 16. between the trio closing 8,000 people will be out of a job. for vincent pace, saying goodbye to showboat is heart wrerchling. he's been a doorman here since 1989. >> i loved working here, it's been the best time of my life here. whoever buys, i hope to be here and open the doors for whoever wants to come through the doors. caesars said 500 employees have

been placed with new jobs within the company. in 2006 it was worth $5 billion, here in atlantic city it is down to there's than a third of that. here in atlantic city, sharrie williams channel 6 "action news." >> new this morning, police in southwest philadelphia are investigating a fatal shooting at 10:30 last night. authorities say a man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. gun fire hit a nissan maxima several times. no reported arrests or motives. police are looking for the person who used a hammer to attack a man on the main line. appear intruder broke into a house on edge hill road in lower merion. he entered into the window. the homeowner and the homeowner's son quopted the

of here today. let's look at storm tracker 6 live double scan, even though we're not expecting widespread storms. you can see we have storms on this radar. it's mostly shower activity with downpours embedded. we're seeing this in philadelphia, wilmington and toms river. we'll feature a few more storms coming your way today. let's go outside and see what it looks like right now, sky6 live hd looking live at the center city skyline in hd. we have lots of clouds, we had a touch of fog in some spots and not seeing any big problems with visibility currently. how about the temperature, 74 degrees right now in philadelphia. that dewpoint is 72 degrees. the winds out of the south/southwest pumping up the moist and humid air mass. only 5 miles per hour. not much of a breeze with this and the pressure 30 inches. you can see how muggy it is, 73 dewpoint in dover.

anytime you get over 60 it starts to feel humid. you go to go into the poconos to get relief from the documents meaning relief from the humidity currently. satellite and radar showing lots of clouds. here are the storms one of the lines that tore through yesterday in the overnight hours and now we're left with spotty showers here and there. you can see 0 how we have showers pulling up out of the southwest. not looking at a strong line of activity coming through. in fact as we look at future tracker 6 as we advance this a little bit, maybe a spot shower or thunderstorm this is 1:00 p.m. if you're sitting on the beach when this comes through, that's going to be an issue. you have to be careful about that. nonetheless we're not seeing widespread act tift. it's going -- activity. it's going to be a day keep an eye to the sky. only a couple of showers or thunderstorms in place here or there.

we are not expecting the severe storms that we were scernld about concerned about yesterday. we have lots of clouds and sunshine. 82 at noon, 3:00 p.m., 84 degrees, you won't have a sea breeze kick in, because it's a south/southwesterly flow. but we have a chance of a thunderstorm. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, muggy today, 88 degrees for the high, feeling hotter than that when you factor in the humidity with the heat. tomorrow, 94. we haven't had a lot of days in the 90s. wednesday, less humid, 88 degrees for your high. warm, but less humid. thursday, staying warm, 88. friday, hot, humid, 90 degrees, once again our forecasted high. the weekend saturday, clouds and sun, knocking the temperature down a little bit with the cloud cover. 85 degrees, chance of a shower and thunderstorm.

sunday, more clouds and sun, high of 80 degrees. here we are as the unofficial end of summer and we're talking about 90-plus degree weather. >> thank you, karen. more news you didn't see last night, police officers in ferguson, missouri are wearing body cameras. two surveillance companies donated 350 cameras. officers wore the devices saturday during a protest march in honor of michael brown the unarmed teen shot and killed by ferguson police officer back on august 9th. the chief said officers have been trained with the body cameras which record both audio and video. >> a san francisco 49ers player who was accused of domestic violence issued this statement. i'm a litigate hearted person and the truth will come out. defensive tackle ray mcdonald was arrested in is an san jose

back to you. >> now to an incredible story 12 months in the making. a man in california is thankful to local detectives who helped him find priceless possessions. a camera was taken with pictures of his wife's funeral. they found the camera and saw the precious picture inside. >> there were photographs of a funeral. we take personal pictures, this appears to be something you'll keep for 40, 50 years, amazingly detectives were able to identify the camera noticing the brown wall in the picture which happens to be in front of the lacey's home. >> i thought it was a joke at first, to be honest i had given

five-year-old boy whose parents took him out of the hospital against doctors advice has been found in spain. annual international search began back on thursday for the boy who has a severe brain tumor. his parents removed him from the hospital in south hampton ton. his dad denied allegations of kidnapping his son. he said he wanted to take his son out of the country for different cancer treatment. a utah woman is accused stealing a ring by swallowing. she also accused of stealing the ring with 30-year-old brian folder. they stole the ring from a jewelry store. no word on how police plan to recover that ring. >> i'm sure they have some
